I went to the store at 7:30pm to try on clothes. At 7:50pm, I asked both Sabrina & Josephine (the store "Managers") to try on the clothes and they said no because they don't have enough employees to let me try on clothes, even though they had SEVERAL employees walking around doing nothing. They both rolled their eyes at each other when I was asking them to please let me try on the clothes. They both walk off extremely angry. A few moments later, Sabrina is talking VERY loudly on the phone and tells the person she is talking to that the customer (me) is a "STUPID FUCKING BITCH" & other profanities. Keep in mind, I never cursed or was rude to either of them. I confront her about what she called me & her unprofessional behavior and she said "I am having a personal conversation with my Husband." WHAT KIND OF "MANAGERS" DO YOU HAVE RUNNING THIS STORE? Trust and BELIEVE that I am elevating this to Corporate ASAP! I will never step foot into another Burlington Coat Factory EVER again! Went holiday shopping and put $350 worth of merchandise on layaway. Returned and paid off the layaway taking all merchandise home. Went thru all the gifts and wanted to return some. Returned to the store the following day and took the returns back (all still new with tags). However, they refused to put the money back on my debit card as i requested. Instead they could only refund me on a Burlington gift card. Very disappointing.... If i paid with a debit card, i should be able to request a return of funds to my debit card. read more

I went in to browse and ended up purchasing two items. As I was leaving, I was stopped by a security staff member who asked to see my receipt. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand what she was saying at first because she was mumbling. Once I finally understood her request, I asked why she needed to check my receipt when she had clearly seen me at the checkout counter but couldn't answer my question. I wasn't aware that Burlington had a policy similar to Sam's Club, where showing your receipt upon exiting is required. So unexpected and called for. read more

So when we were visiting San Antonio, we underestimated the amount of shopping I would do. I had to look for a suitcase and was only looking for one piece or one medium sized piece. It was suggested to check out Burlington. I was really happy to see that the store was well stocked and appeared organized. It was still somewhat early in the day, but the aisles were clear, and I was able to navigate the cart with ease. I was surprised to see they had two aisles of luggage and it was organized by size, which made it easy to see the selection and compare the costs. I ended up choosing a medium sized, samsonite piece. They have so much merchandise that I ended up browsing through and picking up a planner, and some beauty supplies too. The store off of Look out in Selma, is clean, friendly and organized. read more

Standing in a line with approximately 30 people in line waiting to check out. I spoke with someone carrying the "clipboard" and she informed me there was no other staff to assist with check out. I told her l had called their main number to speak with a manager and that after several rings the phone was picked up then disconnected. She assured me that she had been standing by the phone and it didn't ring! I dialed the number straight from their web site. If l had not taken the time to choose several items l wouldn't have stood in the ridiculously long line. There are curently 3 cashiers and l have ben in line for 20 minutes. I think this Burlington has a great selection for almost everything home decor to purses. I'm glad they eliminated the "coat factory" part to their name since the amount of coats was less than good. I don't remember the name of the young woman who checked me out nor do I still have the receipt but once she checked me out she was quite quiet (off day?) but what really upset is the fact that she just stuffed the ceramic mug and glass decoration I had purchased with the other objects. She did not even show care to wrap them in paper (which they usually have) nor even double bag the total items. Yay, I really like this location! I came there looking for something extremely specific...(black gloves with gray sparklies if you must know, but that is friggin' specific). AND THEY HAD THEM. Thrilled I was about this. Okay, I thought the clothes were a little lacking but that happens. I found some cute headbands for under $3 and a pair of dress shoes for $20. My point is, I love Burlington because they have all these hidden gems that you forget that they even sell there at totally reasonable prices! read more

Burlington's lost a customer over 10.99. I went to Burlingtons to return a pair of jeans and purchasey daughter a dress for my father's funeral. The jeans were of a pink distressed material. The jeans still had the tag on them and the receipt was in the bag. On this particular receipt was a total of 83.29 worth of merchandise. The cashier Inspected the pants and then called the adjoining cashier offer who advised me the jeans looked worn and they wouldn't be able to return them. I responded the jeans were to big and had NEVER been worn. The tag was still on the pants and all the creases were still there. If they had been warn and washed the tag and creases on the pants would be distorted. Also, they're 10.99. if I was trying to scam.........Why would I limit it to 10.99. the manager was called and initially she had the same response as the cashier. I explained the again the jeans had never been worn and why would I limit my return to 10 if I was trying to get over. Also the tag and creases on the jeans were fully intact. She then said ok and gave the credit. With the dresses I had bought my total purchase minus the 10.00 credit was 59.49. if I didn't need to get on the road for my father's funeral I WOULD NOT have made that purchase. They claim to take your number to record your receipt in their system. If this is the case, my complete account activity should have been available. Rarely do I return anything. But I didn't go to school and get a good job to spend my money at an establishment to be treated as a thief. Lesson learned. I used their layaway, this was a big mistake, I was told that I could return any items after paying the full amount and receive a refund. So I paid the full amount and returned some items that I had changed my mind about right after paying the full amount due on the layaway. Then I was given a refund as Store Credit. How is this different then buying something not through layaway and getting your money back? Will not do business with them ever again. I personally love Burlington. I've been in several, in many states and never came across an issue. And during my initial visit, I was helped very well. When I came to return an item I was told I had to wait while they reviewed the cameras. I found that weird since I was returning the item with a receipt, but I agreed and waited. The woman returned and stated they would not give me a refund because the item was ok when left. I was like the item is broke and I will gladly exchange but what was I suppose to do with a broken item the lady with a rude attitude said that it was not her problem and began to walk off. I was taken back, based on the area I was in I felt that I was being treated in such way based on my color I asked the woman was that the reason. She stated that she was sick of "you" people playing that card. That racist is over and we need to get over it already. I didn't know what to even say and was highly upset with the woman's comment.
