This mall is outdated and the escalators are never on and it's mostly for cons now. I would shop at torrid and rue 21 when I was a larger girl, but now I can't find a store to jive with at this mall. When they do cons they should find a better way of organizing it as you can't go up on the escalators and there's only one elevator. read more

I came on a weekend when the mall had an event going on, "IMUA MAUI" in support of the Lahaina Wildfires. Rolling Oaks Mall has a lot of potential with the large parking areas and wide indoor walkways for outside vendors. I noticed during my visit that the escalators were broken and a lot of the shops were closed. Overall the place was pretty clean and felt like a safe place to be. read more

Pros: The stores they have are JC Penny, Dillard, Claire's, Journey, Rue 21, etc. This mall has tons of parking. I prefer parking in the parking lot next to Dillards. There is a play area for kids upstairs. This mall has a ChickFila in the food court upstairs. There are unique stores and family friendly stores such as a place to work on RC vehicles, race RC vehicles and create games and "play" with others while having an alcoholic drink. They host a lot of fun family friendly events and offer entertainment. Cons: This mall is 50% full with broken escalators. Both sides of the mall has escalators that are broken so the only way to go upstairs is from Dillards and JC Penny. There is 1 elevator in the middle of the mall. It is a mall worth visiting at least once especially if it is cold outside and you have kids that want to walk around. However, it isn't great because of the lack of stores, it's empty and it feels like a "ghost" town. read more

Rolling Oaks Mall is just a few minute from Live Oak. I have never heard of the Rolling Oaks Mall until this past weekend. This past weekend, the Rolling Oaks Mall hosted a Lunar New Year festival. The festival had several good vendors and live performances. However, the mall itself looks almost abandoned. There are several big name stores there, but there are a lot of closed stores. I hope that this mall will be revived sometime soon. read more

There's not a lot of stores at this mall anymore. Dillard's is still here along with a few large name brands. Most of the stores are filled with local businesses, services, or just empty spots. Often, this mall will host different events such as the Asian Festival or other activities. There might also be an addition of vendors along the mall walkways. I'm really not sure how this place will survive, but it is a decent size. There's ample parking. My main complaint might be that the escalators are often not working and there's not enough stairs to go to different levels. read more

Half the stores are closed and the food court smelt like toilet. Lots of available parking with a Spirit Halloween next door. However we came here twice (once we went at 6pm and most stores were closing within the hour we got there on a weekday?) specifically to go to the Victoria's Secret advertised however we were informed that it closed two years ago during the pandemic. Upon entering we briefly looked inside a shiny phone store with bling cases just to look and we were repetitively interrogated by the shop owner about the type of phone I have even though I had said I'm only looking and making up that it was a gift for a friend. I get that they are trying to help however it comes across as pushy and guilt tripping into buying something. This was a minor inconvenience not a good first impression. We ate Chinese at the food court which was affordable but very greasy and didn't agree with my stomach. The biggest let down was it was hard to keep an appetite despite not eating the whole day due to the stench the cleaners left behind mopping the floors which smelt like they had just dunked their mops straight into a toilet and covered the floors with it. Awful smell.. Looks desolate since both times we went on different days and different times half the stores were closed and or boarded up/empty. I would recommend going here if you are fans of stores like hot topic or would like to go to a mall without crowds of people (perfect for those who have anxiety but would like to experience a mall) otherwise I would recommend going someplace else. read more

I've been to 999 malls in my lifetime, this mall is certainly an interesting one. It's kinda a ghost town, not many people and half of the stores are closed, but some people enjoy the calmness so it's alright. One of the main attractions is Chick Fil A. I was with "THE MAN Blue Monkey" and the both of us ordered some chicken sandwiches and gotta say that was some good food. But uhh yeh there's some legendary stores there, not a lot to offer but the one place that is amazing is the Wrestling shop. These men sell wrestling figures as well as live wrestling matches. THAT is legendary and I have a respect for that for the rest of my life. Shops- although this is not the largest mall I have been to the stores inside are numerous allowing for good window shopping and plenty of buying 3. Food- somewhat multicultural. Its okay. 4. I love this mall a lot not too big not too small and it has all the stores that I usually go to at North star Mall anyways here in this mall and it's just less crowded and less people so I prefer to go here when I just want to do some quick in and out shopping. my main stores are macy's , bath and Bodyworks , rue 21 , Zara etc. even did last minute did Christmas shopping here and it was not as Crowded as everywhere else. The only thing I can say they could improve on is the food court they have a few places but not many options but if you're just there to go shopping not to hang out and eat I definitely would consider rolling oaks over North star any day. read more

Clippas barber shop or whatever the hell it's called in front of TDK, don't ever go there. If I would give negative stars I would. I asked for a hair cut and she had to ask for help multiple times. Took an hour.... On top of that she charged me 54$ for a mid ass haircut. I had to go to my car to check it out completely and went back up to tell them to fix it. It should be shut down. This place is a ghost town. Not clear why this mall is still open at all. It is anchored by a few generic chain stores (Dillards being the most prominent) and a few lower-end stores, but the entire mall is typically vacant and the parking lot is used for Park & Ride events and Via. On the few occasions I've shopped here, the food court is dirty, homeless bums are mixed in with the handful of normal shoppers here, stores are sad with minimal selection, and they rent out the adjacent conference space for more business than the entire mall generates for shopping. Not much selection here. It's almost always empty whenever we go here---kinda like a ghost town. There are the typical stores like Express, Victoria's Secret, Macy's, Dillards, JCPenney. Food court is limited, but decent. You can pretty much stroll the entire mall in less than 30 minutes. Best mall to shop at during the holidays, hands down! Located on the Northeast side of town, between 1604 and Nacogdoches Rd. May be a little out of the way for some people but you get your shopping done quicker than you can light a match, lol. If your an out of towner you'll quickly find all your needs fulfilled here. If you want to skip the holiday lines come here. They have all the essential stores but a little bit for every type of taste and a little more variety. There is a Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenny's, Sears, Express, Victoria's Secret, Lane Bryant, A'gaci, Things Remembered, a food court and little kiosks spread out everywhere. Even the line to see Santa is shorter than usual! So come out and enjoy a less time consuming shopping experience with the same deals or better! read more

Rolling Oaks Mall is a pretty standard place, but it definitely doesn't have any sort of star power. It has your typical mall department stores, like Dillards and Sears, along with about 100 specialty shops. That being said, Rolling Oaks doesn't really wow. This mall is a good place to go if you are in the mood to shop, but the interior area for walking is actually quite small and you can see almost everything with just a few turns. There is a food court on the second floor and some unique features, like occasionally a bungee trampoline jump in the central area. This mall seems oddly smaller inside than it looks from the outside, maybe due to the white tent-like roofing that soars upward. If you live near Rolling Oaks, definitely hit it up for your basic retail needs. However, if it is a bit of a drive, pass it up for a more entertaining option. read more

This chow express place that used to be famous wok at Rolling Mall, serves old expired food. If you want to avoid food poisoning steer clear of it. My 2nd time visiting and the food didn't seem that fresh but really wanted some Chinese food. The teriyaki chicken was beyond dry & tasteless, the orange & sesame chicken was hard & chewy. From sitting in the steamer so long. I sure bet it wasn't kept at the correct temperature. Health inspector needs to visit. My noodles were rubbery with no flavor. I got an egg roll, & we each got Rangoons they were tough and leathery tasting. Fried food isnt meant to be served past a certain point. $30 for 2 plates, like I said I got food poisoning from it. I like this mall due to it not being crowded like other malls. Stores are closing left and right which probably is a sign of the end but what do I know they might be around much longer. I've been able to come here and get exactly what I need my only issue is the closest bathrooms (that I know of) are on the top floor next to the food court...other than that I'll be visiting again in the future. read more

Black Friday is somewhat of an upsetting name to those that may not know its meaning. I certainly haven't known all my life - but this year, I felt the holiday cheer and decided to venture out. First we hit Kohl's and waited in line for over an hour just to check out. I was so exhausted, I required a large beverage and a foot massage. Honey, please take me home now. Later that day, I felt an energy surge. I wanted to spend MORE money, even though we did very large damage earlier in the day. Ah, well. The panic stricken look on my face the day after I look at the money market balance. It is priceless. Crap. I need to be talking about Rolling Oaks Mall. I am just so drunk with holiday cheer I can't keep my head on straight. So we went to RO Mall. It was empty. 7pm, Black Friday, 2009 - Nobody there... I danced through the halls, I lit a fire, I farted in the passage ways. No one. We continued to spend obscene amounts of money until I couldn't breathe any longer. MUST GET BAR-B-Q. So we did. As a mall goes it has all of the basics covered, they do however have one of the best JC Penney stores in the area and the prices here are very good. I would much rather go here before driving down in the middle of San Antonio in all that traffic and other shopping centers in the area are usually very crowded and with higher prices. You will always find sales going on in virtually every store because of the heavy competition in the area. The mall is very clean with plenty of parking too so you'll never have to walk for miles to get to your favorite stores. read more

Rolling Oaks has always sucked as a mall, but just yesterday I was reminded of how bad. I was in San Antonio meeting a friend to go to our college's Christmas Vespers and this was where we could meet halfway. Rolling Oaks. It's dull. It's uncomfortable....it's common. Strolling through there, there seemed to be no pizazz, no joy, no life at this mall. Even the guy at the 'Soapranos" kiosk looked ready to jump over the balcony and end it all. I know I would if I had to hock crap off a cart called 'Soapranos". I couldn't wait to get out of this place. But with 15 minutes to kill, I went to Spencer's Gifts to buy inappropriate Christmas cards. That was even more depressing, as the people in Spencer's Gifts usually are, even in a good mall. The whole place reeked of quiet desperation. Even the staples like Dillard's seemed ready to give up and physically leave the place. I expressed my feelings to my friend when she arrived and she said the worst part was that this was as hopping as it gets, at Christmas time. It's only downhill from here, apparently. She also said she drove extra fast to come rescue me, because she knew how stressed out I'd be waiting around at this horrible mall. It's good to have friends who get me. read more

I have always really liked this mall....mostly because the stores are great but also bc it tends to be less crowded. I can always get a good parking spot close to the store, get inside safely, get all my shopping done in a timely manner and leave without too much hassle. The stores i love the most are Dillards, Charlottd Russe, Macys, Victorias Secret, New York & Co., Marble Slab Creamery, Sears, & Claires. There is also a nice food court to enjoy. There are lots of kiosks in the center. (You know what tney say ..don't engage & they"ll leave you alone. Just be polite but firm. Always show people respect. Everyones just trying to earn a living. Never had any problem. ) Park & Rixe & VIA bus service available. People are nice here. I really like this mall & will absolutly continue to shop here for years to come. read more

Eh. What's sad is I remember when this mall was THE place to hang out in middle and high school. The food court used to be great... where it's not so much anymore. The only reasons I've gone here in the last couple years have been to A) go to JC Penneys (they have great sales pretty much all the time) and B)Go to the Security Service... because it's open later and open on Saturdays/Sundays to make deposits (I accompanied my friend). I hope that this mall bounces back in a big way, largely because I LOATHE going to North Star Mall b/c of it's location... Rolling Oaks mall is in such a better location (traffic-wise) that it'd be really convenient if they would open more stores and get back to a place they used to be at! Although, I admittedly am not too optimistic given that huge new shopping center going in in the Retama Park area... it looks like it's going to be about as big as the Forum shopping center. read more

Looks like it's been deserted as you come into the parking area with so much room. Walking inside, about half the stores are closed down but friendly groups keep it alive by playing music and putting in events for children. I would recommend this mall over the Rivercenter, where you can't get in anywhere and they don't even have elevators. There was a comment about an ADA violation, they need to read up more on it but we saw everything in working order. read more

This mall is pretty basic. You have everything you really need from a mall, minus the glam and nicer restaurants. I can't tell if I like or dislike this mall. I enjoy a bustling scene of people everywhere, but when I come to this ghost town that is Rolling Oaks Mall and all the emptiness it poses, I appreciate the lack of running into other people and lack of screaming children. I also appreciate the proximity of this mall to my home. Just a 12 minute drive, versus thirty minutes to get to North Star Mall. I don't consider this my hang out spot, but I do come here when I need something. As another reviewers said, "it gets the job done." This mall has experienced some significantly negative changes in the past few years. A lot of stores closing, dirty facilities, workers who do not look happy about working there, crowded clothing stands, etc. It is very sad and disappointing to see the lack of concern and upkeep. Unless you're going to one of the big department stores, don't waste your time here. Between the department stores is a sad selection of locally owned businesses that don't stand a chance mixed in with a few national chains (Hollister, Victoria's Secret, etc). So this is almost the lamest mall I have ever seen. If it weren't for the fact that it is so close to my house, I would NEVER go back. I'm giving it a 2nd star, because it does have a few choice stores I like: Express Macy's Victoria Secret NY&Co Wet Seal This place reminds me of the mall back home....used to be an okay mall in the 80's, but after a few stores closed...it never bounced back. The food court sucks because they only have a subway, chick-fil-a, and a Chinese place....THAT'S IT! And in between the few good stores they have no-name knock off ghetto gear. They even ripped off the Build-A-Bear store and called it Bear-Factory...LAME!!! The rest of the mall consists of a run-down nail salon and about 50 cell phone vendors....doesn't everyone have a cell phone by now?
