Ransacked and trashy. Not worth the visit. If you want a discount feel while you shop with a security guard at the front have at it.

I went into the store at the end of February to go shopping because I wanted to use the gift card. I found a pair of lucky jeans that I wanted, but sadly they didn't have my size. The ticket price said they were $99 but the sign in the store said that they were $69.99. I took a picture of the jeans and the sign and I went to the register to ask about having them order my size. I inquired about this process and was told that they did have them available and they could order them for me and then they would ship them to my house. She went to bring up the total and she told me that it would be $99 plus tax. I told her no the jeans are on sale for $69.99 and I showed her the picture of the jeans. She said well that's probably because it's part of the coupon sale. I did inform her that no, according to the fine print on the coupon, lucky was a brand that was not part of the coupon sale. Then she said well sometimes there's price differences between what's in the store and what's online. I told her yes, but I shouldn't be penalized because you don't have my size in the store. I should be treated exactly the same as anybody else that is shopping in the store. Either the manager or possibly the assistant manager, came by and heard our conversation and asked what the problem was and I told her that I was being charged $30 more because I was having to order my jeans online and not actually purchasing them that day in the store. She politely said oh no, we will of course sell them to you for the price they are. I said thank you, and we continued with the transaction. The salesclerk then rang up the jeans at $69.99 plus tax. I went to pay and handed her my gift card and she said oh no you cannot use a gift card when you're ordering online it has to be a credit card or a debit card only. I looked at her confused and asked her to repeat what she just said. She said yeah you can't use a gift card if you're ordering online in the store. Because there's no way to charge anything with a gift card. I informed her that well, even if I was using a credit card or a debit card, you wouldn't be charging my card at the point of sale/order --you would only charge it once it leaves the warehouse. That is stated very specifically on your website. So her argument /reasoning doesn't hold any water. I told her I know for a fact this is not true, because I've done it in the past. My whole life is a series of ordering things online in the store because no one ever has my size. And I VERY frequently will use a gift card to make the purchase/order. But she dug her heels in and insisted it couldn't be done. Another sales lady came over and said the same thing and then that manager or assistant manager came back and she said the same thing --absolutely not. You cannot use a gift card to make an order online in the store. I told them to cancel the sale and then they asked why I didn't want the jeans and I said are you serious? Really? You guys have not given me one logical reason on why I cannot use a Belk gift card to order something online at the Belk store.. the gift card has already been bought and paid for. But they wouldn't hear it. I left the store and called the customer service line and inquired about this process and was told multiple times that they were incorrect in the store and that I was the one who was correct. You absolutely can use a gift card to order something in the store online. They also apologized for the fact that they tried to charge me $30 more for the jeans because they didn't have my size. I went home, went online and ordered the jeans and guess how I paid? Wait for it wait for it... with a gift card. The jeans arrived and they're great. They fit great but I'm returning them because I no longer want them. I'm taking them to the store with my receipt showing how I paid and I'm returning them to that manager. I have also already typed up and mailed off my letter to the actual corporate offices, detailing my entire experience and I'm forwarding them the email from the manager of the store who wrote me after I called customer service. Even after she was spoken to by customer service-she still said the same thing...that you cannot use a gift card to make an online order in the store. So I'm forwarding that email to the corporate offices. In an era when brick and mortar stores are going out of business every single year because people want to shop online--I would think that stores would do everything humanly possible to try to keep the customers inside the store. But not this store. No sir. Oh, and by the way, when I bought the jeans, I had to pay the $99.00. That's just wrong because I should've been able to do this whole process in the store and only pay $69.99. So please baware and steer clear of the Belk store in Mansfield TX.

I encountered some slightly "pushy" sales associates this evening which didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. I was headed to the counter to return a dress and purchase another when I noticed some clothing I wanted to go look at. When I finished and continued toward the counter, the sales associate was walking away but stopped to see what I needed. I told her I wanted to exchange an item and she responded "there's no one in dresses?" Well that was rude. You're standing right here, did I need to go find someone in Dresses?? I told her I didn't know and proceeded to ask "do I need to return this in Dresses?" She hesitantly said I didn't, but that she was about to go to customer service. I was a little annoyed but didn't push it and instead headed to Dresses where the sales associate was a little demanding, telling me to go to the counter, follow her, etc. I noticed she was about to help someone ahead of me with a return so I told her I saw something I wanted to look at and I'd be over shortly. After she finished the other return, she asked the woman she was helping to fill out something on the screen- email address maybe? But as she waited impatiently, she walks over to me to grab my two items so she could begin my purchase. The woman ahead of me then told her she wanted to do an additional exchange. I listened as she told the woman that her item was not available in the size/color combination she saw online and ushered her to the side to look into it as she helped me lol. I'm not sure if these ladies were ready to go home, or overworked, but we were more than 20 minutes from closing time, and at least while I was in the store, it was pretty slow. It's not a nice feeling to feel rushed for one, and that you're a burden to someone who's there to do a job for two. I usually have a good experience at this store even though it's not my favorite but not quite sure what was going on today.

I used to work at a full line Nordstrom years ago, so I know quality when I see it. That's why I love the Rack because you can always expect good brands at better prices than you'd find at the full line store. To some people, Nordstrom Rack still feels a little pricey for a discount store, but you really have to compare it to the original full line price tags. I live in the NoDa area, and I will say this location was a bit farther out than I expected, about 25 minutes from my house. I was honestly surprised that there isn't a Nordstrom Rack closer to the city. This one is more on the outskirts, which is fine, but it does make quick trips or exchanges a little less convenient. Yes, you can return items at the full line Nordstrom, but sometimes you just want to browse and see what's new. Parking here was easy, and the store itself was clean and well organized. Coming from Houston and then Florida, I wasn't used to seeing so many coats in stock, so that actually caught my attention. They had a big winter selection, and I ended up leaving with a super cute trench coat, a puffer jacket, and a couple of other cold weather pieces since I know Charlotte winters are going to be colder. The staff was about as friendly as you'd expect at a Nordstrom Rack, but they moved quickly, and the checkout line wasn't long. Overall, this location was consistent with the other Nordstrom Racks I've been to. No surprises, just the usual dependable Rack experience. I'd definitely return.

She asked me about opening a store credit card and I told her no thank you. Her demeanor changed, lol! I mean I'm sorry that I don't shop here often enough but also store credit cards are too limiting! But anywho...nice experience here and I would return.
