You know I like this little mall. It has the basic mid level shops you expect to find in a mall. It's not pretentious at all. Over the years, they have really tried to make it more appealing. They have a nice play area with life size game pieces for chess, checkers and Jenga. They now have a hang out room. Bring a book, borrow a book, drawing area, fuseball table and comfy sitting areas. The stores here always clean and organized. The food court is spacious. read more

I walked in looking forward to a 60 minute deep tissue massage. Person at the counter ignored me, stared at the computer. Okay, in the middle of a task, np. Looked at the offerings. Prices were reasonable. Turned back to the counter. Still being ignored. Was about to ask how long of a wait it was, but, not liking the vibe, I left. Went to Cozy massage nearby and had a great massage. I will give them another try though, perhaps just an off day. read more

If I could give a zero I WOULD... me and my friends went to this mall at around 2:30 PM. We immediately made a purchase at Windsor and we're headed to another store a little after three and shortly after all these mall police bombarded us asking us for our IDs and to exit the store because you cannot be under 18 in the mall after 3 PM which makes no sense because all other Charlotte malls have the same rule but instead of 3 PM it's 5 PM which is reasonable, but the way they acted and harassed us until we left is unreasonable and scary to three underage girls read more

Northlake is a pretty cool mall. It's huge and they have a pretty good mix of stores. I'm right outside the mall there is a few pretty good restaurants as well. Plenty of parking. And right across the street there is a huge target and a few other good little spots. There's an REI over there and Tesla supercharging. They also have some other non-Tesla chargers as well. Another shopping center across the way has a Best Buy and a Lowe's and a few other good restaurants. So we have a pretty good mix in the area. read more

This was my first trip to Northlake Mall. The mall was clean and the maps were conveniently located so I could find the store I was looking for. They have a cool community room to read books and do some crafts. read more

I don't frequent this mall but I used to when it was popular in its few years after opening. A few years ago there was a shooting here and I think it's became less popular due to safety concerns. Since I've been back in the Charlotte area, I come here once a year because they host Mall-o-Ween. The stores participate in giving out candy to kids and they have other fun stuff in the lobby areas. Charlotte can get cold during Halloween so it's a nice and warm alternative to traditional trick or treating. Plus, it eliminates traffic danger if you have toddlers or small children. The mall itself still has some decent stores like Victoria's Secret, Forever 21, HM, Macy's, Dillards, and Belk. read more

This mall has really gone downhill in the last few years following the shooting in 2015. The retailers who left say they did it for other reasons, but we know the truth. This mall has never been the same. Most recently I noticed that Sephora is gone. They held out for years but now that spot is vacant and windows covered up. Most of the nice stores that used to lease space here have been replaced by no name stores or ones that you wouldn't recognize. Dick's, J. Crew, Anthropologie, Banana Republic, The Limited, The Children's Place, The Body Shop were all stores I used to frequent that have left. Victorias Secret, Express, Bath & Body Works, AMC, H&M and the anchor department stores are holding on by a thread, and I think Apple too. Since I still visit these stores I'll leave three stars, but honestly Northlake is a ghost town. Reminiscent of Eastland mall when it started to decline. Sad. read more

The food was delicious and it was a beautiful day to sit outside. Our server Jakyla was amazing!! It's hard to find service the way she gave these days. The manager came out and checked on us. He was very friendly and gave my son who graduated a ice cream sundae on them. I recommend this establishment for good food and great service! This is the closest mall to my house. There are not many retail options if you are shopping for clothing. Safety is a concern at this mall as there have been multiple incidents in the past few years. So walking through this mall for me feels like you have to be on high alert. There are some small businesses here that are cool to visit. Also this mall doesn't have Cinnabon which always a nice treat on the way out. There is an AMC theatre adjacent to this mall that I enjoy going to, to catch a movie. This mall does have great potential as it is in a commercial area with other retail, hotels and restaurants surrounding but it is in need of some upgrades. read more

As I perused Noethlake mall on a shopping spree I was accosted into the Bath and Body works store by the delightful smell of sweet fragrances coupled with the amazing aroma were very attractive red sale signs that were posted at the entrance and throughout the store! Some of the sales were as much as 75% off! Oh yes one more note... Truly your typical middle class mall. Has a slightly elongated layout but otherwise exactly what you'd expect. People at kiosks and huts trying to pedal needless stuff in the middle, department stores at the end, people working the stores for retail wages who are engaged (and or pushy) to varying degrees, most popular sizes and coffee drinks always sold out, enough parking unless you're not willing to walk 100 feet from the entrance. Given how close it is, this is probably the most bang for your drive, as long as you don't intend to eat onsite. Loved that the formal dress store shows off its workers' Starbucks drinks and a power drill right next to the accessories stand. read more

Rarely go inside of this mall. Usually shop at Macy's, whether for shirts, shoes, and it is a grab and go scenario. Today, while my friend was getting eyebrows threaded. I used one of their massage chairs. 3 minute massage for a dollar is a steal. Do not see many people using these chairs though. People passing by asking is it any good. Oh yeah! I can stay in this chair for another 1/2 an hour. Went to use the rest room facility and it is clean. Definitely, check out the family bathroom there is a mini toilet for the kids. So cute. This is a nice size indoor mall and well maintaned. Will be back inside of mall check out the other stores. read more

Clean mall, nice decor inside, and overall cool mall. They have plenty of good shops inside. Came on a week night and it was easy to Maneuver. My hiccup with this place is the entrance/ exit. Why is there only one? This was poor construction on the architectures part or maybe they were being cheap when it was designed. All mall of that magnitude with that high frequency should have several routes of entry. It's like having one bathroom for a place that seats 400. Not logical. There was tons of cars in the lots outside. First thought was how in the heck is a mall crowded on a week night like this? Well it was empty inside. I learned people park and ride to the city. Pretty good mall it's far for us so we don't go often (only been one other time outside of this visit) but while enjoying food truck Friday in SouthEnd we decided to check this mall out. Our teenager was in search of a Homecoming dress so we journeyed off to Northlake. I'm a SouthPark mall fanatic so I was pretty standoffish while trying this place but low and behold I was pretty impressed and I didn't get to go through the entire mall since we arrived so close to closing. The outdoor area by H&M ( a HUGe and well lite H&M with a ton of options) is very nice as it houses several white rocking chairs facing the parking lot and the water display. It was perfect weather to sit on the chairs with our son and watch the older children play in the water display while we catch a breeze and chat. The restaurant options at NorthLake are awesome (outside of the mall) they include Bravo, P.F Changs, Firebirds, etc.. It's a pretty clean mall with a greeter at the entrance who was friendly from the moment we entered to the moment we exit. read more

Northlake is fine as malls go with a decent selection of stores, the typical foodcourt full of crap and some ok-ish anchor restaurants. If you are looking for anything specialty or different though you better haul your butt down to Southpark. Or better yet, catch a cheap flight to NYC. The entry/exit to the mall parking and surrounding satellite stores/restaurants is convoluted at best so take care you don't get in a fender bender and try to limit the $&@(&-@!!! you do when you find yourself driving around in circles when all you really want is some darn hot and sour soup from PF Changs :/ read more

Typical Mall with All of the Amenities This is the closest enclosed Mall to where we live with Macy's, Belk's, Dick's and Dillard's as major anchors. My wife laments the fact that they don't have a Penney's as an anchor and for that, she has to drive to Carolina Place Mall another 20 miles down the road. We're down to the Mall generally two or three times a month normally shopping at either Macy's or Dillard's or dining at either Firebird's or Bravo Cucina, both of which are favorites. Pleanty of parking and generally not a problem except during the Holiday's but that is true for all malls. The Mall is very well maintained and unlike some of the older malls in the area, all of the spaces are occupied. No problem getting tenants for this location. read more

I was very disappointed to see the downward turn of this mall. You could literally stand in one spot and see 5 store fronts closed. There are very few kiosk serving the mall. A major anchor store has closed. They have had trouble with security of there customers a couple of times that have made the local news. Unless there is a store you know you want to visit, I would visit another local mall for a better shopping experience. read more

This is a decent mid-sized mall with most of what you could need in a quick trip... Sephora, Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, The Children's Place, Banana Republic, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works etc. The Macy's at Northlake is quite small, however, and doesn't carry any higher end brand jeans like Joe's or Seven's etc... just fyi. So if you're looking for that or for a much better, larger selection overall ... head down to South Park which includes a Neiman's, Crate and Barrel, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Apple store, Nordstroms and the like... read more

Hmmm...what can I say about this mall that has or hasn't been said before? I find myself only coming here because it's extremely close to my job but I don't enjoy lingering around here. Now that's not because of recent events but moreso due to the younger crowd and lack of stores that interest me. The anchor department stores are Dillard's, Belk, and Macy's. There's also an H&M that's been poorly staffed every time I've been there and lines so long that make you regret wanting to make a purchase. There are some store closings and re-openings currently in process. I think there's plenty of possibility for the mall, I just wish the right developers could get their hands on the place and really turn it around. read more

Due to the fact Southpark Mall is pretty close to me I often don't go to Northlake Mall, as it is a little bit of a drive. Northlake Mall is average in my mind, offering a lot more mid-range stores, where Southpark has more high-end stores. The one thing that is somewhat annoying about Northlake is the parking. It is so spread out and very confusing that there are always backups trying to enter and exit the mall. The food court offers a great variety of lunch spots, but can get crowded around lunch time. As for the stores, although there are so many I felt like the employees at every store were rude or not very happy about working. Yes, I was there most recently around the holiday season, but they just seemed annoyed. No one asked to help, assist with anything. Didn't enjoy that. Overall, Northlake Mall does the job for getting your shopping done. An added bonus...The surrounding stores, outside the mall, all great. You can get to Target, Best Buy, Old Navy and others, and enjoy lunch or dinner away from the mall at many places, PF Chang's, Friday's, etc. read more

I think this mall is a great alternative to the inevitable South Park. I forget it's there even though my house is equidistant between South Park and North Lake, but this spot is much better. The stores are less swanky, of course, but I get depressed with the swankiness of South Park. I can't afford all the bright and shinies, so it's just sad to look at them. It's a fairly new establishment as well, so everything is clean and new and nice. The Macy's often has good sales, and I've found the movie theater to be one of the nicest around town. I also like Firebirds Grill and PF Chang's, so it's convenient to shop and pick up something good for dinner. read more

Two floors of shopping bliss. Personally, I only come to malls if I have an objective. For example, I'm looking for jeans that are okay quality and sort of within my budget or maybe I'm looking for some express polos. And if you're not a shopper, there's a movie theater, Barnes and nobles, and well the food court! The choices at the food court is what you would find usually in malls. Chick-fil-a, Great Steak (if i'm really craving for a fast Phily Cheese), Panda Express, etc. Of course, if you want to shell out a little more cash you can always go outside of the mall and right around the corner there are tons of different types of restaurant for your choosing. Inside the mall, the last time I came I went to go buy dress shoes at Clark's (you can read my review there) and I got what I needed. Another great thing about Northlake is that there is one massive Apple Store (second one in Charlotte) and what's great about it is it's closer to me than South Park's, which is usually packed with people. If you do come here you have to check it out because there's a good amount of space in this one and as long as you're not tempted in buying a Mac, you're all good. Overall, this mall is easy to understand two floors and it's just a line. Plenty of bathrooms, and every type of store you desire (except it's not like Concord and South Park with the super expensive stores). I personally don't mind this mall and I will be an avid visitor because of AMC. read more

A pretty typical retail mall with the usual anchor stores at different points of the mall - Dillard's, Macy's, Belk, Dick's Sporting Goods. Plus an assortment of much smaller shops on two levels. The floors are clean, the hall is brightly lit and there is plenty to look at as you walk from shop to shop, supporting the local and global economies. Standard food court entries with ticks in the boxes for vaguely asian chicken, pizza, Taco Bell and the like. It's not awesome but it's a food court. A point off because the mall is not quite lined up with the access roads, making it necessary to do a lot of turns and wide curves to get to the parking areas. read more

When I have no desire to go alllll the way to Southpark Mall, I come here to Northlake Mall" especially now that they have an Apple store. The stores I frequent here most are Macy's, Dillards & Apple. Their food court is decent, has a lot of offering for picky eaters. The movie theatre is nice, again, more convenient location for me. I like that it's clean, bright & inviting. Having the "children supervision" rule is a plus. The parking lot situation is a pain...especially getting in & out of the mall itself. I'm happy with the easy on / easy off access to I-77. read more

I always enjoy visiting Northlake Mall because they have a large selection of stores and plenty to visit even outside the area. Normally I see security walking around due to the high traffic that mall receives. If you have little kids with you there's an area downstairs for them to play. There are also motorized animals they can ride around the mall for an average fee. Parking is never a problem here with the mall being so large. They food court selection is decent and the sitting area is pretty comfortable and clean. I would recommend this be the main mall to visit in the Charlotte area unless you're only interested in outlet malls. read more

I think I've given Northlake plenty of chances over time to prove itself worthy of a better rating but as a mall it has really always just fallen short for me. But you might not want to take my review as the defining one for this mall. I'm a very needy shopper and probably not at all like your typical American shopper. You see, I like a tighter place. I'm not all about wide open spaces made of concrete, marble, metal and glass. I prefer my wide open spaces au natural - vast meadows and forests of majestic trees. Yes, this seems off-topic, but the point is I don't want to come to a massive mall that is practically empty all the time and I have to walk a mile to get from one store to the next. I don't feel that tight-knit community feeling in this mall, and that's what I personally like. If you want the polar opposite of this - Northlake is your place. On to the details, Northlake does have about every standard mall shop around. H&M is here finally, Forever 21 (though for its size it still lacks a men's section...), Gap, American Eagle, Anthropologie, Fossil, A&F, Apple Store, etc. Plus a food court and a movie theater. More anchor stores than you can count, which apparently is a positive for parents and grandparents. As for me, I only enter an anchor store at a mall to pass through it and enter the mall. However, they've got an exception I dig - Dick's Sporting Goods. I've been known to spend some time, and money, in there. Plenty of seating throughout the place but the WiFi is spotty as is any kind of cellular signal as part of the mall is underground. So if you're waiting for your girl outside Victoria's Secret, join the crowd of bored looking men. On that note, there are two expansive floors. It can get a bit confusing because some anchors have their entrance on the 2nd floor and on the other end it's on the 1st floor. Last (and least), the food court is unimpressive to me. Limited range of selection with high carbs (pastas and pizzas) and Chinese places. However there are a few fancier restaurants accessible from the outside doors of the food court that include free valet with the meal. I dig Firebirds most. In conclusion though, I wouldn't tell anybody to go out of their way to go to this mall. I personally would rather go to Southpark. But I'll continue to hit up Northlake when needed simply because it's close to home. read more

Not a mall person by any means, but this mall is nice. It's well kept and has a nice mix of store selections. The food court has a good mix places, including your normal fasties: a Subway and Chick-fil-a and there are some big name restaurant chains like Firebirds or Bravo! if you are looking to spend more $$ on the food experience. The mall itself reminds me of an old warehouse, but obviously nicer... the wooden slat ceiling gives me the impression of an old timey railway station with interior brick columns. I definitely appreciate the architecture of the building and the fact there are ample places to rest your rear end (especially if you aren't quite a "shop till you drop" person). read more

Went shopping here today with the other and it was an awful experience. Every store it was the same thing- completely unkept and dirty, half-empty shelves and display cases, and terrible customer service. It seemed as if everyone was so annoyed to have to ring us out when we were ready to purchase something. Oh! -almost forgot to mention the smashed cockroach I spotted on the stairs up to the second floor. The mall was busy and it is a pretty mall but it's looking quite haggard and ratchet these days... I think I'll stick to shopping at South Park mall going forward. read more

I feel though this mall is headed downward. This mall has become very "urban". The customers to this mall are thug wannabes and people who like to scream on their cellphones. Some major chair type stores have left so there are a few empty stores within the mall. I do not feel comfortable going to this mall alone. read more
