We had a fantastic time finding this place. The food places looked amazing lots of choices of every food you can imagine, also I had places to get cocktails, wine, and beer. History was cool and a lot of people were happy. I want to go back just eat that pizza that I saw. I would return.

The word arcade (at least in America) usually means a place with games. But it can also mean an enclosed shopping area. That's what this arcade is (although it has an extended outdoor area as well). It has shops and restaurants and bars as well as some tables outside in the shared area of the arcade to enjoy your drinks/food. Very local. Very cool. Worth a visit to either walk through or to eat or have a drink or shop!

Should be called Latta Arcade / Brevard Court. Over a hundred years ago, there was a small alley connection Tryon St with Church Street. More than likely it was called Brevard Court. In 1914, one end was enclosed into a two story pavilion called Latta Arcade but to this day, the two run together and hard to do one without the other. We came down on a nice spring day a couple of weeks ago and visited the restaurants/bars and shops of this area. We had lunch at The French Quarter which is the entrance to the Brevard Court entrance on Church St. I think the reason it's called the French Quarter is that the atmosphere reminds you of NOLA because the cuisine certainly doesn't Nice place to socialize and get a good meal and maybe book a trip someplace or just hang out. It's only a short walk to the Football Stadium, the Basketball Arena, the cultural museums and art galleries and or course, Romare Bearden is right across Church St. Great place to be and back in the 1970's prior to the advent of the other venues, this was the place to be in Charlotte

The Latta Arcade is such a unique space in that it has a rich history - I am such a sucker for it too!. You can definitely tell how dated the building is by the building's design, but what I love walking through here is seeing the natural light come though the skylights and how the storefronts are compact. I don't believe there is A/C either, but I think the building is designed to move air through it enough.... it does get warm at times, but it's actually a nice break from the "overly" air conditioned-modern buildings in Uptown. The Arcade is celebrating it's 100 year anniversary so it is crazy to think this space has been here since 1914! Though I have not tried all the places in here, I can tell you that the line for Crisp is usually out the door. When you walk though the arcade the nice outdoor courtyard opens up to more shops and restaurants - probably the best one is The French Quarter, but the new Viking place is actually growing on my "go-to" list for lunch. Great for people watching, but there is a lack of seating in the building itself since everything is so compact anyway. Ask the shoe shiners though, I bet they see all kinds of things during the day.

Certainly has more useful stores and restaurants than Founders Hall does. It qualifies as "quaint" and "charming".

Review for Charlotte Premium Outlets…read more After relocating to Charlotte from the San Francisco Bay Area, I've kept my same philosophy about shopping: retail prices are optional if you're willing to do a little homework. I'm always looking for quality and value without paying unnecessary markups, and this outlet center has been a very reliable place to find both. I needed professional clothing, shoes, and luggage for work, so I made the drive out here--and I found everything I needed in one trip. One of my best purchases was a beautiful piece of luggage from Travelpro at a great price. Many of the stores also offer additional discounts if you sign up for their rewards programs, which can make the savings even better. Stores I frequent most: * Banana Republic * J.Crew * Ann Taylor * LOFT * Saks Off 5th * Old Navy (very large location with great basics) * Le Creuset -- always fun to browse, even if just window shopping If you have the time to look carefully and shop strategically, you can really find high-quality items here at excellent prices. My personal shopping strategy: * I avoid weekends whenever possible * I park near the Saks entrance, especially along the back row where it's easier to remember where you parked * I shop during off-hours for a calmer, more efficient experience Parking overall is plentiful, and the layout is easy to navigate once you learn your preferred entry point. Another thing I appreciate is the atmosphere. In my experience, the staff across stores have been knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. The overall vibe feels practical and approachable--people are there to shop, not to show off. There are also plenty of restaurants and fast-casual options nearby, so it can easily become a full outing. If you're planning a larger shopping trip, using store hold or will-call services can be a smart way to keep your purchases secure while you continue browsing. As someone who pays attention to value and cost of living, I've found shopping in North Carolina--and the Southeast in general--to be refreshingly affordable compared to the West Coast. That difference alone makes places like this especially worthwhile. Bottom line: Easy parking, strong value, and a wide selection of reliable brands. If you shop strategically and avoid peak times, this outlet center can be a very productive and enjoyable place to find quality items at fair prices.

However, I do like the variety of stores and in my case the only osh kosh and carter kids clothing stores in the area. There are multiple parking lots so finding a space has never been an issue. I came during thanksgiving/christmas and the decorations are very nice. They have signage for a variety of holiday events happening (pics of your dog and Santa etc). There is a food court, shake shack, and Starbucks. My kids love the small play structure. It is very small and probably only entertaining for kids 4 and younger. I appreciate the clean bathrooms inside the food court- especially the family restrooms which has a small toilet for kids.

I have been here a number of times, usually to hit up Trader Joe's but there's also a nice Best Buy (that does auto installations), Pisces all-you-can-eat sushi, Lost Worlds Brewing, and now 3rd & Fernwood which was my destination today (Yelp elite event!). There's bunches more of retail and restaurants. The tall parking deck worked well on a quiet midweek evening but during the holiday shopping season, it will be a real challenge. The deck is clean, well lit and I did see security on patrol. As always, be aware of your surroundings especially in or near the elevators and stairwells. I did not bring the Sprinter as there is a low height clearance. Two good access points from Kings Drive and Charlottetowne Avenue have traffic lights. Speaking of retail, we tend to visit Trader Joe's the most...but there are other big stores, like Marshall's and Best Buys. Now, there used to be some cool boutiques here, but I don't recall seeing them recently (possibly closed due to Covid?). Probably the coolest feature of this strip is this little alleyway with a great patio dining...with clear views to Uptown Charlotte. Recently, they've installed this fun Umbrella Alley" display...colorful umbrellas suspended in mid-air. Think it's a temporary exhibition? In any case, there's always something cool to do and see here at The Met...and despite the long drive from where we live, we tend to go here quite often. Guess it's worth it?

It tucked inside a few of the large buildings downtown and connect them all on one level. Not sure where you would technically say is starts but for me It begins in the Wachovia building (I think it truthfully starts in the BB and T building but I can't leave these few shops out in the Wachovia building) and continues all the way to the Hearst Tower. I have visited a lot of the shops and the restaurant inside. It's an escape from the elements outside and a cool thing to see. However on the weekends it's a ghost town. The mall caters to the working/ business people downtown. On the weekends only the section in the Bank of America plaza is open and only Walgreens and the lobby of the Omni seem to be open. There is security walking around though. There are several different entrances and exits for the mall. You can walk towards other building in the area and there are tons of tunnels and walkways that connect you to different restaurants and shops in those building. The only thing open in this "mall" was a Walgreen's in the BofA building, none of the passageways were open nor did any of the nearby hotel employees even know they existed. Apparently all there is to do in Uptown is eat or drink, as there is a wealth of great restaurant and bar options, but there is no retail whatsoever. None. Really and truly sad because it's such a beautiful city, but unless you're looking for a bar or restaurant crawl, or to watch one of the local sports teams lose, you'll have to go elsewhere.
