As another reviewer wrote, "this is a great in and out mall." What's most surprising to me is the amount of variety offered in the food court. Chic-fil-a is always a good choice but they also have a Lebanese food stall that was quite yummy. It has become a family tradition to visit Carolina mall for the kids to see Santa. We have never waited long and they Santa is a jolly old soul as he should be. Live long and prosper Carolina mall!

This shopping center has completely transformed since I moved to Charlotte…read more It's home to some great restaurants. Some of my favorites are CO, Your Mom's Donuts, Jeni's, and Suarez Bakery. Come here for food, groceries, crafts, outdoor gear, hardware, movies. It's has a little bit of everything. There's free WiFi throughout the shopping center which is pretty awesome. Parking is a little hectic because it's always crowded, but there are always plenty of spaces. Don't forget to check out the back lot too!

To make the left, you need to go along Season Grove Lane past the Bojangles and that takes you to a traffic light controlled intersection where you can make a left on to Mount Holly-Huntersville Road. The shopping center features Harris Teeter as the main tenant but also includes Rite Aid, a Mexican restaurant and a Red Bowl Asian Bistro. Autozone, Wendy's and Bojangles as well as a bank. There's bunches more of retail and restaurants. The tall parking deck worked well on a quiet midweek evening but during the holiday shopping season, it will be a real challenge. The deck is clean, well lit and I did see security on patrol. As always, be aware of your surroundings especially in or near the elevators and stairwells. I did not bring the Sprinter as there is a low height clearance. Two good access points from Kings Drive and Charlottetowne Avenue have traffic lights. Probably the coolest feature of this strip is this little alleyway with a great patio dining...with clear views to Uptown Charlotte. Recently, they've installed this fun Umbrella Alley" display...colorful umbrellas suspended in mid-air. Think it's a temporary exhibition? In any case, there's always something cool to do and see here at The Met...and despite the long drive from where we live, we tend to go here quite often. Guess it's worth it?

The whole place has that familiar highway-adjacent retail rhythm where people are constantly coming and going. Some fast food including McDonald's and Taco Bell plus a Bank of America branch. The Holiday Inn Express is close enough. The layout is spread out but not confusing and everything is built around wide lots and long sightlines that make it easy to hop from one to the next without needing to loop around. The center is directly next to I-85 so there is a lot of transient traffic and a quick escape so be especially aware of your surroundings and people walking towards you in the parking lot. You'll get a mix of locals running errands and travelers stopping for supplies and that blend makes the lot feel a little unpredictable at times. It's not a bad place to shop, it's just one of those highway-side centers where keeping your eyes out of your phone makes the experience smoother.
