The amount of stores in this mall have shrunk and disappeared, but this place is nostalgic just like the movie theater. I'm so glad that I can also bring my children here. I just really wished that they would not have got rid of great American cookie. I am so disappointed. The Carolina Mall is an old building that seems to barely survive the competition of online stores. Sears is gone, uet the building is still here. I was surprised that the indoor mall area has been refurbished, very clean, but not too many stores that attract my attention. The food court only had half of their vendors open on a Sunday. Parking is not a problem here and people tend to shop or eat and not loiter around. It is a descent place if you need to visit JC Penny's or Staples. read more

I like this mall a lot, as it's small and easy to navigate. It has a lot of great, popular stores inside, and a great food court with lots of variety to choose from. I enjoy coming here with my family and grabbing a quick bite to eat then walking to get some steps in and running into some of our favorite stores. It does have 3 jewelry stores, which may be a little much for such a tiny place. It's kept very clean overall in my opinion and is nice for getting out without having to deal with the huge crowds that you'd find at bigger malls. The only thing I have to say that I don't really understand is that on Mondays...online the hours say open until 9, but that isn't the case. The front doors might be open until then, and maybe a very small, select food places are still operating...but all of the stores are closed by 8:00 sharp. That was pretty disappointing, especially since I checked ahead of time and online it said something different. Other than that, I do like this mall and prefer this smaller one to the big, crowded one. I'll keep coming here. read more

This mall may get some hate for being small and not so trendy but I think it's a part of small town America that's quickly fading away. I've been coming here since I was a kid, not to shop much but just to window shop and walk around. Nowadays, I head in whenever I'm in the area and need to kill some time or want to stretch my legs. I've always felt very safe here (can't say the same for some other malls in Charlotte!) and there's always ample parking. Food court has everything you need from a mall food court. Sears is shut down but it seems like one of the few that have done so in COVID. I didn't see anyone without a mask. read more

Soooo, how can I put this??? This mall is a huge fail on my book. To be fair, I am NOT a mall shopper kind of girl in the first place. However, if I were, I would have zero desire to visit this place again. I think it serves the market of individuals that are not necessarily looking for the latest and the greatest in clothing or shoes. If you don't require much, this mall may work for you. On the bright side. There is ample parking due to the limited amount of patrons. They do have Belk, and a few other popular stores like Bath & Body Works. So glad that malls like this still exist. I thought it was a piece of Americana that would disappear forever. It's not a huge mall and your choices are fairly basic. As another reviewer wrote, "this is a great in and out mall." What's most surprising to me is the amount of variety offered in the food court. Chic-fil-a is always a good choice but they also have a Lebanese food stall that was quite yummy. It has become a family tradition to visit Carolina mall for the kids to see Santa. Been going there for 15yrs. About 5yrs. ago while in pk lot with my 10 lb shitsu, stopped be security. Informed , no dogs allowed and asked to leave. Told him I was waiting for my wife who was still in the mall. I told him, I dont think my wife would like me to leave without her. I wasn ot in the mall but in the pk lot!! This Sun. in the afternoon was acosted by a guard inside mall and asked to leave. I told him she was a service dog. He said it meant nothing. I told him to stop harrassing us . He said he'd give me a citation. My wife and I told him again to leave us alone. Our dog is too well trained. An angel named Maggie . At last he left us alone. He was very rude and insulting. Will think twice before returning. Other than these 2 times, we have enjoyed the mall. read more

This is a great "in and out" mall. I primarily come for the JCPenney and to browse the Victoria Secret since it's never crowded. The mall is older and is only 1 level. The stores are pretty basic, but if I need something specific, I will come here to avoid the chaos of Concord Mills and Northlake Mall. The only time I had to search for a parking spot was for Black Friday, as the mall is pretty spread out which is a plus. Overall, this is a good mall if you know what you are looking for. And for introverts like me, the best part is that it's never crowded! read more

As Chris E. pointed out, it's interesting this mall is still "holding on" after the onset of Concord Mills & (somewhat) nearby Northlake Mall. However, surprisingly, they're still standing! They've gone through many changes through the years...growing up in Mooresville, this was the closest mall. There was no way my parents were trekking down to (now dead) Eastland Mall or South Park. The fresh updates are a plus. They even have a parking deck! They have the same "normal" stores that all malls have: Belk, JC Penney, Foot Locker, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, a food court & cinema (which is not connected to the mall). However, they do have non-typical shops: Hibbett Sports, Radio Shack, & Staples. Getting in & out is tricky. While they do have several entrances / exits, the next door CMC-Northeast hospital & busy Concord Parkway make it quite the busy area for traffic. Overall it's a decent mall; my tastes have evolved over the years, so it's not considered a shopping destination for me anymore. read more

I had a appointment for Saturday at 2pm and the salon called me Friday afternoon to confirm that I was coming and I confirmed yes, so having to drive 25 miles and early afternoon I didnt make any other plans. When I arrived I told them who was cutting my hair and they told me she wasn't coming in today,she took the day off as of this morning. I told them i was from out of town they should have called me and let me know.she said she's the one I spoke to yesterday. I told her it was bad business not to call me and let me know. This mall told us they were not giving out Halloween candy...ON HALLOWEEN!!!! They claimed they celebrated it on the 30th. We will be boycotting this mall for messing up Halloween for ALL the neighborhood kids. read more

It appears this mall has experienced a make-over. I wasn't there to shop so I just walked through to the food court. It has a nice, open feeling for a mall, or maybe because it was not overly crowded on this Saturday afternoon. The food court was nice and clean and had good options for a family. The staff were keeping the tables clean so that you had a place to sit and eat. I opted for Honey Baked Ham Cafe and was quite pleased. I just don't remember this type of experience on my last visits so kudos to the Mall. They have a Belk and JCP, along with Sears, so it's definitely worth a stop when I take my vehicle into Sears for tire service. read more

Haters gonna hate!!! Yeah it's dated and doesn't have a lot of stores, but it also doesn't have all the traffic that Concord Mills does despite sharing a parking lot/road with CMC Northeast. You can pull up, find a spot and be in and out before you could even turn into Concord Mills' parking lot. I seriously love this little mall! I wouldn't even call it a mall really... It's more like a plaza of connected stores. It's always an enjoyable shopping experience because of that. It has the only JCPenney and Sears near the Concord/Charlotte area unless you want to make the trek to Pineville. I typically forget about Belk as I did not grow up in the south, but I recently shopped there on Father's Day weekend and they had some serious sales. Definitely worth giving this mall an afternoon of your time. The food court has been updated there is an El Vallarta inside. read more

We normally wouldn't venture out this far to the mall, but this was where the closest JC Penney was. I was definitely expecting a bigger mall from one titled the "Carolina Mall", and was surprised at how small it was. Despite a small size it wasn't a total loss. One thing I will say is that parking was pretty great, especially for a mall in the afternoon on a weekend. It was also pretty clean and not too skeevy, which is always a plus. But come on, you don't go to a mall for decent parking and a good maintenance crew...you go for the stores! This is unfortunately where the Carolina Mall slacks off. This mall isn't big and is definitely not a place to dedicate a day of "shop til ya drop" to. It's only one floor (though Sears...and maybe Belk...did have two floors) so there is really a limit to what you can cram inside. As I mentioned we came mainly for the JC Penney and were not disappointed...good selection at good prices. The other anchor stores consist of Belk and Sears which have their moments. Then there is a smattering of other stores selling clothing, shoes, beauty products, etc. Of course it wouldn't be a mall if there wasn't a Gamestop, and the Carolina Mall didn't disappoint. There is also a detached movie theater in the lot, but can't say much about the quality/price since we didn't go. Same goes for the food court...I took a quick glance and noticed the likes of Chick Fil A and some other basic stuff. The Carolina Mall was far from the worst, most run-down mall I've been to, but I've been to a heck of a lot better. While it's easy for me to get to (right off 73) it's still a bit far east and the Northlake Mall is not only closer but offers a better selection of stores. I would probably only return here again for another Penneys spree and that's it. read more

Carolina Mall is much smaller than the behemoth that is Concord Mills, but just because its smaller doesn't mean its worse. At about 1/3 the size of Concord Mills this place is a bit less stressful. This is the mall you want to go to if you want to go on a little shopping trip but don't feel like dealing with the massive crowds. Sears, JCPenny and Belk anchor the ends of the mall while plenty of other familiar faces like Books-A-Million, Hot Topic, Victoria Secret, Foot Locker, Bath and Body Works, and Rue 21 dot the inside. There's also a Staples attached to the building (though its only accessible from the outside), a well stocked food court with restaurants like Chick-Fil-A, and just across the parking lot is the Carolina Mall Cinemas. Sure its a bit older, but they've tried to pretty up the interior in the last few years. It's usually pretty clean and the simple linear floor plan makes finding what your looking for super simple. If you like to shop, but don't like the crowds, give this place a try. read more

These deals are absolutely crazy and that's the way I like it... This is not the biggest, newest or snazziest mall in the area... For crying out loud, they still have an airbrush store inside... I haven't seen that since Eastland Mall! But hey, why not? I got a new Panthers logo Cam Newton jersey for $22, from $65... A dress at Belk's for $7... $35 off the regular price! I found an UnderArmour hat for $10 and a pair of gloves for $12... ($28 and $25, previously) The food court is decent and the restrooms were clean... Although, when Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sunday, I'm sure that's a bummer because there's only around three other places to eat... If I'm ever around there again, I'm sure I'll stop and see what else they have going on in there... read more

This mall looks a bit dodgy on the outside. However inside it is quite nice. There aren't many stores so you are almost better off going to Concord mills however this location has a Sears and A JC penny which Concord mills does not. It also boasts a Belk and Maurice's. The food court has some decent options like Chik fil A, Chinese, teriyaki, subway, orange julius, pretzel maker, and Philip cheese steak. The inside of the mall is clean and there is far less people than Concord mills. read more

I really didn't want to give this mall 2 stars since I have always enjoyed it, but they have removed all of the benches and there is no place to sit and rest. I know I will be doing my Christmas shopping elsewhere because I sometimes need to take a breather. So beware if you have a lot of shopping to do and want to sit for a moment.
