This is a good place to shop during the holidays. The key is to shop early! Yesterday, I went there for some socks that they advertised on their website, the app, an email and the flyer that they send via USPS! It was pouring raining outside so I knew I could take my time while I was there! Because, I'm here from Atlanta I'm not that familiar with this location! When I walked in I asked an associate where were the socks. She sent me in the wrong direction, so I asked another and she told me where they were. I found the socks and was looking for the ones that was in their ads. They wasn't their nor was there a sign showing that they might have been there! I must have spent pretty close to 20 minutes looking for these socks. They were not there! At this point i'm thinking "bait n switch!" This was not the 1st time I've shopped this location based on something that was listed in their ads and ran into the same results! I made my way to what is left of their toy section! That's when I notice this tall black guy following me! I knew he was following me because, I made my wat to the book section and he was there too three isles over just standing there! I purposely took my time looking for books for a 2 yrs old. And sure enough he was still there watching me. Finally, the rain eased up and I took my items to the checkout and he was there too! He made a purchase and I remember thinking, maybe he was a customer, until instead of going out the door, he walked to the back of the store. I get it, shoplifting is a issues especially in today economy, but everybody is not a shoplifting! And being followed around a store that practice "bait n switch" really made me feel some kind of way! I'm angry, but I get it! A bit junky, but that's ok... it's a discount store, right? Good values overall, and super ones occasionally. I especially like the 15-25% off days I just missed one :( That's when I stock up on my favorite coffee brand! They have quite a good selection. I am definitely a "name brand" person... so that is a bit of a drawback; but on some things, the brand doesn't matter so much. Check out is my main complaint... they have changed the routing to the check out counters; so you are stuck in line without anything fun/interesting to top off your cart. It would be nice to be able to build up points to use at later dates, in addition to their planned discount days.... as a partially handicapped person, it is sometimes difficult to navigate when the store is so crowded. Ollies bargain outlet is often overlooked because slogan "good stuff cheap," but they really do have good stuff at a great price! They have some great holiday finds but you have to stock up while they have them because it's no telling if they'll get that same item back again. One thing I absolutely love about Ollies is that they have a nice selection of K-cup coffee, cappuccino, and hot chocolate for your Keurig and k-cup machines at fantastic prices; and they hold their own side-by-side with the retail brands, and the good news is "they do keep in stock. read more

The Concord NC store is where I shop. Store always clean and organized. Lots of great deals However one cashier has had screaming matches the last 3 times I was there. This variety has a hodge podge of offerings under one roof. The store is well organized for the most part. It sorta reminds you of Big Lots mixed with the Dollar Store. The book section is large and sectioned by genre. The floor rug section is huge. The rest of the store is divided into smaller departments. I will return the next time I need to look at rugs! The food section was filled with pantry items of every kind. Some of the prices were great. Some of the food prices were a lot higher than the Dollar Tree for the same things. Ollies is is a fun place to shop when you have the time. They have great prices for everything...and they sell a little of everything! Every Ollies has a large book section so if you are looking for a gift for a friend and you can't think of anything...consider a table book. Such a great variety! There is a food section where prices are amazing. You just have to be careful of expiration dates. As long as they are within the dates for it because the price will be great.... lots of name brand items. I really like this place! I can find a lot of fun books and activities that my son likes here, as well as brand new items for way cheaper than big stores! They have a wide selection of things to choose from of almost every category, which I love! Even food and bath/body items at highly discounted prices!!! The customer service here is just okay. Customer service is the worst . Products are relatively good. We went there 12/30/22 , we arrived at 8:55 am , they open at 9 am. The person that open the store , I assumed one of the owners or managers saw us waiting, shake his head in disappointment, unlocked the door always Keeping a horrible dog face , unlocked the door and leave without even said a Good morning. All employees were in the same mood. I won't come back and I will prevent my family and friends do it , anyway the products are not worthy to be treated as a trash. My friend and I came all the way from China Grove on Sunday night. We knew we were gonna be limited on time however while we were finishing up grabbing a couple I'm assuming manager was making announcements that we had all day to shop want to see my announcement that just made us not shop here at all. And she also said if we didn't bring our stuff to the front we were gonna have to take the trash out or some silly comment like that. My friend was at the register paying while I went back just to look for a few things not to try and purchase because apparently her register was gonna shut down, but just to get an idea of what maybe I would want to get tomorrow when we came back. However, I was very disappointed as to how rude she was, how much she rushed us and unwelcoming she was. I've worked in retail and I understand end of the are ready to go home because they've been there all day working hard, but there is a way to go about it and I think the way that Tara, which was the woman's name did it did not do a very good job. she was the one making the announcements that were rude and running the and making comments to us directly about how we had all day to shop. Why do we wait till five minutes was left till they closed. I'm almost 9 months pregnant so I move a little bit slower. I will think twice before coming shop here again however prior to my experience here tonight I was super excited to try and come back tomorrow because I love this place. my brother's girlfriend told me that the Lexington store was so much better than this one and now I can see why. I know everybody has off days but wow, that's all I got to say about this one's off day. read more

I enjoy shopping here. The staff is friendly, courteous and they offer complimentary in store coffee if you need a pick me up. They have storage solutions, pet supplies, first aid products, books, linens, novelty items and outdoor living items (to name just some of the products). The lines are insane... Always! It is indeed a special occasion when they open more than one register. But even around the holidays they will NOT open more than two registers. Which is the reason they are only earning three stars. There is no such thing as a quick trip in and out of this store. If you join the loyalty program, they will send you the cards via snail mail every few months. Don't forget those cards because they do have an expiration date on them, and they will never ever let you get the discount without the physical card. read more

I don't know what's up with Ollies any more as every time you go in, it's the same, long lines at check out an no help to open more lanes to reduce the long lines. Was in the area and stopped in this Ollie's to buy a few things. When we went to check out the one checkout lane with a cashier had a line backed out into store. Another lane also had a long line but no cashier to be found. They were paging some guy to come open another checkout lane, but he never showed up. There was another lane with a woman at the register, I don't know what she was doing, but she never opened the lane to help reduce the very long lines. What few items we had it was not worth waiting in these very looong lines, so we just put them down and left. We just left a cart full of stuff and walked out of the Ollie's in Hickory a few weeks ago for the very same reason. We used to be frequent fliers at Ollie's but with this happening every time we go in an Ollie's now, plus the higher prices, we are going to have to seriously re-think if Ollie's is worth putting up with this crap every time we go in one. read more

Ollie's is exactly what they say they are, a bargain outlet. They get unwanted or overstock items from other stores and bring them to the customer at a better price. They have a bit of everything you would see at a bigger box store, just maybe a little less of it. Garden supplies? Check. Toiletries? Sure. Linens? Yup. I've actually got some nice towels at home that came from Ollie's. They have a small grocery section, a toy aisle, office supplies and office furniture, they even have some flooring solutions in the back. I've visited a few times and they're are two standouts where i think you really get a better value here than other stores. First is the books, one of the larger sections of the store right up front. They may not have quite the selection a dedicated store has, but there is no way you'll see prices this good at say Barnes & Noble. The other place they shine is around the holidays. Christmas decorations can be expensive and Ollie's has on multiple occasions had nice things at good prices. Things like garland, ornaments and lawn decorations are just some of what I've found. Do they have everything you need for a typical grocery trip? No, but a little browsing might net you some unexpected deals on household necessities. read more

Literally love this place! There are so many good deals. However, one of there employees has put such a bad taste i my mouth. Her name is Tara. She was one of the cashiers up front. I did my shopping and had 2 returns on two different receipts. When I presented this to Tara she immediately look upset. I asked her what's wrong. She reposted "It's just a hassle to do 2 different returns on two different receipts and you don't even have the right receipt for these items. It's missing the barcode on the bottom". I was immediately uncomfortable and could not believe that what she said to me. I asked her if I could get a manager so they can help with the receipt that was missing the barcode and she said NO. I said "so your telling me, you will not get me a manager?" She said "no need..I can do it". Again, she is super annoyed with me which I still can't understand because they allow returns. If you don't want to do returns then tell your manager to take you off the register where you're supposed to provide customer service to everyone or tell the company that they should stop doing returns to customers since it's such a hassle for you. Literally, she ruined my whole mood that day. I try not to let people get to me but her negativity did that day. Moving forward, if I go back to this Ollie I will ensure not to go through Tara's line again. I don't want to be to much of a hassle for her. read more

Ollie's is a family favorite. They have a huge selection of kid toys and books. Our kids got to go and pick out a few gifts they wanted for Christmas. They were very affordable compared to other big stores. They also have a huge selection and you can find toys you don't see at the other stores. Decided to visit due to hearing they had bottles of hand sanitizer. This was my first visit to an Ollie's. I knew it was suppose to be similar to Big Lots. The hand sanitizer was at the front entrance, grabbed a bottle and proceeded to peruse the rest of the store. Like Big Lots there was stuff everywhere. I'm not a big fan of places where I feel it's almost like a treasure hunt. I like to go in, go directly to what I need and get out. However, in the future should I need to purchase reading books for young children, I will definitely consider coming back here. They had a huge area just for books. My co-workers and I needed to grab a few things on my break, so I ran to Ollie's in Concord. An associate by the name of Dwight kindly helped me with finding my items and even brought them to the front of the store. I was relieved to know that I would be back at my desk before my break was over. The lines were long, but Dwight jumped right on the register and got the line down quickly and he was friendly towards everyone. Why on Earth can't I find good customer service like this anywhere else? I get outside, only to find out that I left my keys in the car. I walked back in to see if Ollie's carried wire hangers. Of course, there were none. Dwight sprung into action, found a hanger from a neighboring store & got me into my car. I went back today only to find out that he's no longer working there. Well, Ollie's you're complete idiots because that was the best thing you had going for you. I WILL NOT be back because the rest of your employees suck! By the way, you only got 5 stars for Dwight.
