Love this little book store! The people working here are always nice and shopping here is always a pleasant home-town like experience.

Ask the Community - Second Look Books

Is there space in the store where visitors can sit and read?

Yes, a very small area as the store itself is very small, but there are two chairs that one can sit down and read in.

Love this place!!! Decided to meet up with a friend for coffee (well tea for me) and she suggested…read morethis place as 'the perfect spot'. And it was. I read through some of the other reviews and I want to set the record straight. Yes, it's inside a church but there is a separate entrance. Yes, there are Christian books but also other genres. Yes, the coffee is very affordable BECAUSE all the staff are volunteers. No one is getting paid and they LOVE what they do. All smiles and great service. The proceeds go to local and global missions of the church. Win, win all the way around. The place itself is very spacious. Two levels. The seating areas are comfortable and far enough apart you can have some semiprivacy if you need it. My friend who brought me says she comes here all the time to study (she's in college). All of the staff knew her by name. (love places like that) I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't really speak to the coffee (although my friend says it's pretty good). I am a tea drinker though and they have a variety of flavors, some refresher juice drinks, a few pastries. Please support. Every now and again if you're thinking of getting coffee or a pastry, choose them. Why not? Do some good for the community through others who are committed to giving back.

Next to Popshelf in a small shopping plaza, it's nice not to have to park and go into the mall across the street to get to a bookstore. This one has one floor, a cafe, reading nooks, throughout. Small but somehow we managed to spend four hours there. She already has plans to come back.

This location is in a strip mall and is small, but it's warm and inviting. We walked around and saw some pretty cool things, from books to games to Legos and everything in between! I love how the layout flowed. There were little seating areas that you could patronize and get lost in a book. The store is obviously brand spanking new, so everything was clean, neatly organized, and fully stocked. I love that! There is a cafe in the store with some tables and seats. I saw some people on their laptops, so this would be a great place to work out of, or just to get out of the house to get some creative juices flowing. Bookstores always tend to be a bit on the pricey side, but I love how you can just grab a book and either enjoy it in the store or purchase it right away if you're not willing to wait from ordering online. Such a cute location right up the street from us, I look forward to coming back and getting more books!

The book prices are particularly good and make it easy to take a chance on an unfamiliar author or genre. The café serves very good coffee. On this visit I had a cortado, which was strong, smooth and well made. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. What I like most is the atmosphere. During my visit I saw families browsing books while enjoying a drink, friends meeting for coffee and people having informal meetings. It feels like a place where you can spend time rather than simply stop by. The balcony seating looked especially appealing for reading or quiet study, with a good view over the café below. A place with plenty of character, and one I will be returning to again.
