It's pretty much packed store full of gift items as everyone else has said I will say that the gift items range from hysterically tacky to slightly tacky to lots of socks with sayings on them and items that are locally or made in Asheville, etc. You can find a lot of the stuff on Fred website or Kirkland or world market so the uniqueness is not overly outstanding I think the thing that would make me come back are the kitchen towels and a really good selection of interesting books Overall of fun experience if you're in the mood read more

Listed as a stationary store, this does have that but a whole lot more. Starting with tchotchkes and puzzles and games ... and moving on to tea and coffee supplies and books/magazines this place has a little bit of everything. We came in looking for a few thank you gifts and left with some wine and appetizer plates, some stationary stuff, earings, shower steamers, fudge, cat stationary ... all to say this is a great gift place. What a neat place! I had the pleasure of visiting this unique shop a while back and I was in love. I love the huge variety of products they have, from funny cards, toys, nostalgic games, notebooks, etc. It was honestly even better than I expected. I can't wait to come back. I do remember the staff there was very helpful and friendly, and that the shop was pretty busy. For a good reason too! Lovely options to buy, so much funny stuff there to enjoy and laugh about. Bottom Line: Yes, the hype is true, this is a wonderful gift store! Not only does Paper Skyscraper get five stars but so does my husband because he is the one who told me that we needed to check out this store. Paper Skyscraper is fairly large for a gift store and packed full of gifty goodness like cards, books, jewelry, lotion, calendars, mugs, housewares and such. I live close to some really great gift stores so while I did see some similar items to what I'd find back home I also came across some unique finds and some items specific to Charlotte. I could have spent a lot of time in here but it was a bit crowded when I visited so after honing in on a stress pickle (much more fun that a stress ball and equally therapeutic) and some whimsical, nautical themed dish towels I made a bee-line for the register. After reading various reviews that discussed a busy parking lot we decided to park several blocks down at the public parking lot and walk. It was a nice day so we were glad for the extra steps but come to find out there were plenty of open spots available in the lot on a Saturday afternoon. They have a lot but it is small with very few spots. (Best to try to go when it's not a peak time or day.) There is a variety of price points here so it's easy to find something you're looking for. Maybe a couple of the items might be a little higher, but you're usually going to find unique items that set your gift apart. I will say that some of the aisles are a bit narrow and can be tricky to navigate if it's a busy period. Usually other customers are pretty accommodating about getting out of the way for you if you need to move around, but did want to note that for people who might not love the close quarters. They wanted to find some "Charlotte" items and this place came highly recommended by my friends. We got to check this store out and we were in here for about 2 hours! So many neat things! I'm not sure why I never popped into this store before, I've certainly seen it on Yelp often enough. So much more than just greeting cards and wrapping paper! The store is chock full of the sort of gifts you give to the person who "has everything" because for sure they don't have all of these things. Whiskey stones (like ice cubes but they don't melt) and an icicle insert to chill wine from the inside and "cheeky" fridge magnets and odd calendars and clocks and just too many unique things to list. It's just a really neat store and if you are looking for gifts, then this is the place you need to go. Prices are not cheap and they're not outrageous expensive.
