Yes, this store is messy...however, that is because customers tend not to put unwanted items back where they got them! I doubt top end department do not tolerate that behavior. I found great name brand items: Columbia waterproof boats for less than 50% of shoe stores. I found a reebok winter jacket...very warm and lightweight! Again less than 50% retail stores. I haven't been to this store in quite a long time. While I admit that you can snag a some deals on nrands, the chaotic mess of searching may not be worth it. Luckily, after searching through a trashed rack we found one pair of men's gloves. We then got a steal of 5 pairs of levi's mens dress socks for $10. I found a belt after searching a while that was Guess and only $12.99. You can fund name brands if you have time to look around for your size. Clothing is harder to look through because racks are overstocked with clothing. It makes it difficult to move anything around, and isles are tiny with no room for movement. I think they need some more staff to help with cleaning and maintainence. There are tons of boxes of opened items and items thrown all over the floor. I promised I would give the girls at The Great Lakes Outlet mall the absolute best review and let me tell you why: After an exhausting day, tying to find anything and everything. Seriously, I'm fighting a weight issue first time in my life. I was looking for everything from intimates, shoes, boots? suites, lounge wear, jeans and a coat! I did not have the time nor energy to look through sales racks, I had been to Somerset which I love! Macy's blew it. My helpers clocked out so I was looking all over 2nd floor however; the so called "designer" departments I won't mention names but I asked for help gave sizes, brands, styles etc. hoping they could find something on the sale rack. Hey, I don't mind spending money especially when I had a Neiman Marcus and Talbots etc credit cards. I found a few things but nothing from the witches in the designer dept.at Macy's of all places??? Compared to Saks, Neiman's Nordstroms and Lord & Taylor. I walked into Burlington at the outlet mall one. The were open until 9:30pm! Well I got the best Customer service in 30 minutes found 7 cute tops that were figure flattering and cute! Of course, I wrote down the gal's name that was pulling things for me to see I know by looking at my age what works etc. Too experienced? Check in this place, you will be surprised what cute things they have not too mention their customer service was 99% why I returned $1200 of items to Macy's and chose elsewhere. read more

This store has it's own entrance into Great Lakes Crossing which makes it very convenient. They have house wears, baby furniture, shoes, all season jackets/coats, lingerie, women's clothing, men's clothing, children's clothing, handbags, plus sizes for men and women and perfume. I think that about covers it. Huge selection of jackets-Member's Only (I swear), Pelle Pelle, Calvin Klein, Ecko, London Fog....no Burberry though! However, if you are nice, I can tell you where I did get a Burberry winter coat in this mall at a STEAL! Shopping for work clothes, is really not at the tops of my list of things to do or ways I want to spend my cash.... The clothing is far from quality and tends to be a bit ghetto....however, it is my super top secret location for suits. I am only sharing this, as I just purchased about 10 suits prior to moving. And, get this....I didnt even spend over $200.00. The suits could be better quality, but they are good enough. I have had some for over two years and they are still fine. Seriously, a $19 dollar suit that is super cute cannot be beat. I only wear skirt suits and they have a TON!!!! And they have a wide selection of plus sizes. Plus, most of them you do not need to dry clean. If you are starting a new career, seriously this is one of the best places to come expand your wardrobe without breaking the bank....that way you can save your money for stuff you really want ie. After the remodel they stopped getting any " good stuff" it's also an older loss prevention guy who's always staring as if ppl don't have money and have to steal. He makes you want to just leave. This place has a ton of great deals, but they are always under staffed and the place is always an absolute wreck! Merchandise just tossed everywhere, including the floor and aisles, and the floor is disgustingly dirty. And there is dust covering almost everything. It's like they never do any cleaning. And there is always a HUGE line for the checkout. Even when they have like 6 or 7 cashiers working. They move so slow that you have to wait forever. I did recently get my new and favorite Steve Madden purse here though, for a very good price. But I had to wait in line for over 45 minutes just to check out. And it was the middle of a Saturday, and every single register had a cashier, but the employees were moving so slow and taking there time it took forever. If it weren't for the fact that I desperately needed a new winter coat and I wanted my purse so bad, I wouldn't have waited. I don't think I'll be shopping here again any time soon simply because the terrible things about the store outweigh the good prices on things. read more

It's a really big store with a lot of variety and deals to be found, but it has a few big problems. the first one is how messy it always is. There are always clothes on the floor, on top of the rack, listed as the wrong size, and everything else that makes shopping really confusing. Also, their fitting rooms only have doors that go to about my upper chest-shoulder area, and they're all really close together, so I can literally see other people changing and other people can see me changing. They really really need to fix that because the store on Van Dyke used to have it that way and they updated to full doors over a year ago. It's beyond awkward to have to worry about other people walking by being able to watch you while trying on clothes. If that is fixed I'll definitely change my review to a higher one! read more

With the pandemic, most places have started cleaning more frequently, but that's clearly not the case here. There was dried peanut butter on a mirror, a partially eaten hot dog bun left on a shelf, and mold under the hand driers in the bathroom. Shopping for work clothes and outerwear ranks up there with mucking out a gutter or blocked sewage line for me. I find the process sometimes unfortunately necessary, preferably a rare event, and loathe whole business. I want someone else to do it for me. I do appreciate the end results. Burlington Coat Factory is the living embodiment of my dislikes wrapped into a single store. For the record, the shop at Great Lakes Crossing is not the worst I have seen. But its central placement, separate entrance to a large section of the parking lot, and broad cross-section of departments make it a chaotic mass of humanity all trying to do their shopping. Customers clog the shoes section, spill out into the men's, women's and children's clothing section, stand among the chest-high racks of winter and raincoats, and clog up the accessories section. Huge, snaking lines converge on the noisy cash registers where words dissolve into yaps and ceaseless noise. Just remembering gives me a dull, throbbing headache. One stop shopping for reasonably priced footwear, outerwear, and suits or shirts is rarely easy. No one store seems to have mastered the premise, though plenty try. I don't call Burlington Coat Factory a department store; it feels like a cross between Chico's, Walmart/Target, JC Penney's end of the line sale, and TJ Maxx. You can find some name brands among loads of anonymous designers who I usually realize I've seen on a resale store shelf somewhere. For the patient bargain hunter, there are gems to be found. BCBG pumps, London Fog trenches, some nice jean companies (though not Seven for All Mankind, Citizens or True Religion; don't get your hopes up), and quality sportswear are all scattered about. Here's my real reason for this one-star review: finding those gems takes hours and formidable patience I just cannot muster between the shouting patrons and the twits yammering on their cell phones as they screech hangers back and forth. The stock is a mess and horribly disorganized. Sizes are thrown together, and you'll more often than not find a medium in the extra larges, extra small everywhere, 8s put in with 4s, and no real sense of anything. End caps are the worst where lazy consumers just dump their belongings. It makes shopping difficult. I may try on coats in two or three different sizes because designers and cuts vary so much. Burlington usually carries multiple colours, but the handsome jade and forest green windbreaker/raincoat I found in a large may not be in a medium or, if it is, they may only carry red. I still find myself stalking the endless long aisles in the coat section looking by colour and tag just in case. I shouldn't have to waste my time doing that. Fitting rooms are a sloppy wreck puddled in discarded clothes and belongings. Shoplifting and loss prevention must be a major headache. Associates are rare in my experience, probably shuttling between the aisles and the clothes some jerks just throw on the floor and walk away from. I can't imagine the time they spend trying to keep things in order. Shoes and coats are the worst offenders, though the women's casual section also sees a lot of heavy disorganization. I can't be bothered to look after a certain point. I just give up. I'm not OCD but this level of disregard for product and messiness makes me angry. Better to trawl the Internet and find a decent online vendor with generous return policies. If you make it to locating something that fits, be prepared for a horrendous wait in line. Have a Kindle or your smartphone to entertain yourself with. Maybe send off one of your kids or friends to fetch you something to eat, or call in a pizza. You'll have time unless it's the one rare midweek hour when business dies down slightly. Weekends make the wait atrocious. After 30 minutes for a single pair of shoes at a decent discount, I gave up and walked out. $14 off a $60 pair of shoes isn't worth that. EPIC FAIL BURLINGTON! This used to be an annual day of shopping for us. Every year we travel to Michigan to have a shopping day with my siblings there. After 4 hours of shopping we were appalled at ....so much. Horrible! AnnMarie at checkout was so far beyond rude for no reason what so ever! I mean THROWING things. Ridiculous. Snippy and mean when she spoke at all! And that was after standing there waiting while she and another were having a discussion. 4 associates behind registers and only 1 taking care of customers. AnnMarie Seriously did a talk to the hand motion when i said excuse me, which register should we go to? (They all had lights on sooo...) Dressing room attendant's only words were to give an order! "Make sure everything is on a hanger when you are done!". The second trip to dressing room was a much nicer attendant. the bathroom was so disgusting..i mean..SO BAD! I cant believe in a customer service industry ANYONE would act the way they did. We never asked for anything, didnt need help..AnnMarie was simply outwardly hostile And incredibly rude. I can get the same deals at Ross, T.J maxx etc... without the side of ignorance to go with it. Epic Fail Burlington. You may want to nip that one in the bud! One bad seed can do SERIOUS damage.
