The weather was beautiful so we wanted to sit outside and bring our dog. It was a Monday and Burgersmith was open so it worked out perfectly. We were seated immediately, and our waiter was great - knowledgeable and a good personality. The giant Jinga and Tetris games were a bonus that kept the kids happy. The bar was rather slow with our drinks, but the food was timely and prepared well. Burgers, buns, toppings, and fries were all good quality and very tasty. We had never been here before so thought we would try it. We got 3 smith burgers, a fry and an order of onion rings. Got home and unwrapped the food and realized that the burgers had no cheese. That was my fault, didn't realize I had to add cheese. But on my burger, there was one nasty looking piece of lettuce and barely any onions or sauce. Also the onion rings were not crispy and seems like they had been sitting in the bag waiting for awhile. The French fries were the butter and garlic and tasted like regular fries. I was given a specific time to pick it up and I was on time. But I noticed the bag was already sitting there. Not too sure for how long. Next time I think we will try to dine in instead of take out. My wife and I ate at Burgersmith for the first time tonight. First of all the service was outstanding. Even better than the service was the food!!!! We started out with their onion rings (crispy strings) with their signature smith sauce. I would put these up against some of the best onion rings I ever had. My wife had the ground beef filet burger in lettuce wrap and I had the same on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, tomatoes, homemade pickles, grilled onions, bacon, smith sauce and creole mustard. I don't say this lightly but the flavor and juiciness of that 1/2 lb patty was by far the best burger I ever ate! My wife rarely finishes a meal and did not require a to go box. I would highly recommend Burgersmith to anyone. We will be back. I want to try their chicken and Aligator bratswurth with grilled onions and spicy mustard. read more

We were visiting Lafayette for a couple of days and wanted a burger. We tried this place because of the local reviews. We were not disappointed. We were greeted when we walked in and sat down quickly. Our server was very attentive and gave us some great suggestions. My husband had the filet cheeseburger, and I had the regular cheeseburger. These were some of the best burgers we've ever had. They have a good selection of burger suggestions, and then an entire build-your-own section with a wide variety of options from the bun on in. We sat in the bar as the dining room was quite busy and therefore a bit on the loud side. Our server didn't seem like a people-person but she was efficient enough. We ate here again last week. Just like their nearby Broussard location, this place has improved tremendously. Foods are now up-to par for chain, and waitstaff is much more pleasant. I'd like to start out by saying that I have only done one other yelp review ever for a restaurant. Today, I have to make an exception. I went today for lunch with my two kids. It took 20-30 mins to get a waitress to ask us if anyone had waited on us yet and multiple had been walking by us over and over again before that point. By that time, we knew what we wanted and told her with our drink order. After we ordered, it took 40-45 mins for someone else to come to our table to ask us what kind of chicken we wanted in one of our entrees. After a while, the waitress walked by and said our food would be out next and that the kitchen was backed up. We continued to wait. We went outside and back in twice killing time. I had 3 refills. She came back by and then told us there were 2 orders before ours. It was 1.5 hrs in by then. She then brought out fries by themselves and we thought that was at least something and after eating some of them, we noticed they were not the fries we ordered and that they had red pepper flakes on them and 2/3 of us have acid reflux. About 10-15 mins after that, we got our food finally. The meat was VERY salty on two of the burgers/sandwiches like it had been seasoned multiple times, ingredients were missing and over saturated with condiments on them and they forgot the other order of fries that we ended up pointing out. Sad to say, we didn't eat but maybe half of it because of the food and having to wait for forever and needing to get to work. We watched the table next to us come in over 20 mins after us and get food 30 mins before us. The waitress came over to us and offered free ice cream on her which we declined. As nice as that seems, it didn't take away the wait time or the food being incomplete and not so great. We told her about how things were and it visibly made her uncomfortable although she smiled through it. Something was definitely wrong with how things were flowing there. I'm not sure why it went down like that, but it took roughly 2 hours from arriving to leaving. We came close to just leaving before the fries arrived. We still paid full price. And then to see half of the kitchen staff sitting out back smoking cigarettes together when we left. Not a good look after that experience. read more

I had a chili cheese dog on mine and she did not....odd....when I tell the server she said ya, some our different.....really? The burger was not cooked to how I ordered. The oil used to cook it was rancid. I didn't get the Burger Smith sauce with it as I ordered. The battered onions where very skinny, the fries where burnt. My server had tattoos on his arms that would be inappropriate for children to see. He had so much metal on his face that he could attract lightning. The rings are homemade and a huge order. They are delicious Definitely enough for 4 people to share. My husband ordered his hamburger medium and it ended up coming out well done, so he said it tasted dry. My veggie sandwich was good. It was difficult to eat the tomatoes on the sandwich as they are sliced thick. Food was average, with so many places to try in town, I don't think we would return. The burgers here are fantastic! Many toppings to select from. The fries are tasty. I recommend ordering the Smith Sauce for dipping. So me and my wife went try the restaurant for the first time. I ordered a regular burger with smoked Gouda, onions jalapeños and I upgraded to the butter garlic fries. I ordered a medium. Well burger and waited for 10 to 12 minutes or more for our good. I cut the burger in half then pulled it apart to eat but saw that it was rare. Basically still moving. I sent it back and waited and ate some of my garlic butter fries that did not taste butter or tasted garlic. Not worth the up grade. I ate at a world champion hamburger joint in billing Montana and they serve fries with butter and chopped garlic and fresh parsley that was phenomenal as well as the burger, Elite. Don't get me wrong the fries were okay and the burger was okay. If I'm going to pay a premium price and up grade the burger needs to be great and the upgraded fries outrageous. With a name like Burgersmith I figured I was going in for an expertly crafted gourmet burger. I was so disappointed. Let's start with the ambiance-it's loud as eff so keep that in mind if you plan on talking to your dining companion without shouting. Yes. It's that loud. This is not a major deal for me. I sometimes like quiet and intimate and sometimes loud and rowdy are up my alley. It just really depends on my mood. The staff needs to be trained much, much better. We were seated and were not even acknowledged for at least 15 minutes, not even to get a drink order. It was annoying watching all the servers walk around joking with one another while looking like they were lost in some some of alternative reality at the same time. This at least gave us time to look at the menu and when our space cadet (er...waitress) came we ordered drinks and burgers at once. I ordered the Smith Burger which comes with smith sauce and green onions and added a fried green tomato and jalapenos. I specified I wanted it medium and she looked at me a little weird but wrote it down (I think). I also got the Smith Style Fries which are described as spicy and y'all know I'm down for spicy anything. My burger was not medium, it was most certainly well done and they forgot the fried green tomato (a $2 up charge which I had to have taken off of the bill). I could not finish the burger just simply because it was over cooked and I did not want to waste calories on it. The fries, though were hand cut, cooked perfectly and were nicely seasoned. I'd be back for the fries alone. In fact, I think they should change the name to Frysmith. read more

I placed a to-go order, the environment was very pleasant and the staff was very friendly and prompt. The Smith Style Fries were absolutely great, they were spicy and crispy but not over crispy, they get an A+. The disappointment was with the burger which I knew lacked cheese going in but was willing to try it. The result was not great, it was dry and really greasy. The sauce was good but not enough to make up for the very bland burger, maybe it could of been saved by cheese, but its not likely. With that being said I will be back to try other burgers due to the friendly staff and AMAZING fries! read more

Cheese fries for the price were small tasted good but portion size was way smaller than Texas Roadhouse. It is a hamburger joint where you have to order the side to go with it. Not a lot of selection of sides to with the burger. It was not horrible, if I lived in Lafeyette I would visit every once in a while. Ragged branch burger might be best burger I've had in Lafayette. The beer was a little overpriced with the braincake being $11 (it's a double ipa at 8.4%) and other pints on our ticket being $7ish. The bartender service was just a bit lacking. We came in at lunch: she forgot to give us menus and silverware, she was doing side work while 5 people were at bar, drinks were empty a couple times. Brought us check even though we didn't we ask for it. 5 beers, 2 burgers and a large fries ran us $80 + tip. The whole experience was just a lil off. Bartender didn't warn me price for $11 beer (didn't have or see beer menu or prices.) The bar area is too bright and needs some moody music. They need a few more drinks on tap. The blonde wood high tops and bar is just cheap lookin/wrong for a bar. The beer is a couple dollars per pint overpriced. The burgers should come on bigger plate and for gods sake through in some fries. The service was just ok. These places frustrate me because they're sooo close to being good but I'm sure with rising cost of everything they can't quite get there. read more

Delicious burgers. My favorite is the bison burger. Its huge but the taste is amazing. I love the fact they serve organic beef as well. The build your own option is awesome too. I have to say be aware of the smith burger, if you don't like spicy food, that baby is HOT! You can also get gluten free buns. The french fries are thin and yummy. This is my boyfriends favorite burger joint in town, but not mine. Cheese fries are great but could use a little more toppings..the fries at the bottom get lonely. Not my favorite place because I think the burgers are very sloppy! They taste great but I always get sick of putting it back together to take a bite! Husband and came for lunch and havent been here in years...so.long ago that you are now seated and served, as opposed to the old stand in line and order....this was so much better. Trying to watch my carbs so I took the bread off the bison burger, ordered a side salad with apple cigar vinagrette and had to have a Dixie beer with that, but it was really very good.
