This is a great hole in the wall unique joint. Fresh food & friendly service. When you come here be prepared so you can fully enjoy the experience. Service is always with a smile but the food is freshly prepared they don't put it on the grill until you order it. You can always call ahead, they do phone orders real good. It is a small place, that means small parking lot and less than 10 tables outside looking down on the Thorton River (no indoor seating). Also, there is no cell service or internet in this corner of the woods, be prepared to talk to your dining companions. With all that said... great burgers and handcut fries! And the ice cream :)

Never noticed this place until today - so I'm not sure how long it's been here - but it has been a few years since I've passed down U.S. 211 through Sperryville. You walk inside what is almost like a covered porch and place your order at a window. I ordered a Bison Bacon cheese burger with Swiss cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, plus a Diet Pepsi. Strangely enough, I noticed a zip lock bag full of water suspended over the Order window. I asked the young lady about - she stated that it confuses the flies and keeps them out. Okkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyy. Took about 7-8 minutes for my burger to come out. They cook it from scratch, so it takes longer than a fast food joint. I took my burger and beverage and went and sat at a picnic table sitting above the Thornton RIver, which was merrily gurgling and babbling as it passed over rock and stone. Burger was very average, a little disappointing actually. But it was not bad, just not noteworthy. The burger pattie itself had that "wallowing in grease on a metal griddle" taste to it. Steady stream of people stopping in here for food. Will have to try something else next time.

While it's Burgers N Things on Google n Yelp, they name outside is "Country Cafe Pit Stop"

A perfect spot to pick up food before entering Shenandoah National Park via Thornton Gap Entrance. We just had tenders n fries - they were nice and juice. The fries were missing salt but they were good. They have a lot of other options and the place was pretty busy.

We've eaten here before over the years. Hard to check in out there though. :-( Chili dogs, hamburgers, french fries, ice cream and shakes on our trip today. They do take credit cards and have an ATM right at the window.

Really slow and inefficient service but good food and milkshakes at a decent price. I got a hamburger with mushrooms, swiss, grilled onions, and tomato for $4.25 (the burger without the toppings would've been $2.25) and a large pumpkin pie milkshake for $4.25. Both were really good but it took forever to come out and then went back and made half my group's order before they took the other half of my group's order so we were there forever. The guy taking orders also spent like 3 full minutes counting the guy in front of us' change...

Welcome to Sperryville, Dave! This is a sure bet for a good burger and fries and Dave's great Reuben, just like in Washington. That's what I know about so far, and we will continue to go as the service, food, and smiles can't be beat! Credit cards are accepted also. Phone in orders work also. (540) 987 8311

Regular sized swirl cone with nuts. Pretty good! The sundaes are also great!

Overpriced, frozen old food. Did not give me full serving of fries. Not worth unless you don't have any other options.

We stopped by at 11:30 for lunch on a Sunday in fall. We were told there was a 10-15 minute wait, but if we sat at the empty bar we would have to wait the same amount of time because food was behind. Not sure how that works but okay. They have a nice text system for their waitlist, so we used that. We waited in the back room, which had a few tables, a large stage, a pool table, and a jukebox. It was a fun vibe! Once we sat, we both got the cheeseburger- there's only one choice for a meat burger. It took a while to come out. The burger was pretty average. The server described it as a smash burger even though it didn't say that on the menu. The patties were a little thin, with standard toppings on a sesame seed bun. The fries were thin and nothing special. My friend called it a slightly upgraded McDonald's. Again, nothing bad but nothing special. I wouldn't come back, but there aren't many other options in Sperryville.

Stopped in for breakfast one recent, cool, rainy weekday morning…read more I ordered the Sausage Quiche - which is served with a side of crispy potatoes, plus coffee and water. When the food came out - the Quiche was cold. I went up to the counter and advised them of the situation. The Chef apologized and said they would re-make it. They advised me the Quiche was a very new addition to the menu and apparently the "thickness" of the Quiche required they heat the Quiche longer. I get that - but shouldn't the kitchen already know this? Anyhow, I'm not sure how much time elapsed as I waited for the second piece of Quiche to come out - it seemed like it was 15-20 minutes, but I can't say for sure. Fortunately, the second piece of Quiche was properly heated throughout - not a bad slice of Quiche - however, the Quiche was under-seasoned. I added a bit of black pepper and hot sauce to give it a boost. The crispy potatoes were hot and crispy, they needed a bit of salt, which I added. My server also gave me a muffin to go - that I did not order. I guess they wanted to make amends for the temperature of the first slice of Quiche. Service was good. I look forward to stopping in again. #TheBASEatBlueRidge

I've been eyeing New Iberia Kitchen for a while now - as I love Cajun cuisine…read more I finally got to try some of their food on a Sunday. Apparently, currently the only day of the week they offer Brunch is on Sundays. I showed up about 11:00 am. The place was full of diners - so instead of waiting for a table, I sat at the bar. It's not a large bar - I'd say it seats approximately 9-10 people. I ordered the Boudin balls - which come with a tasty dipping sauce called "Swamp Mustard." I also ordered the Cajun Omelette - which is stuffed with "smushed Boudin balls." Comes with a side of rather unexciting breakfast potatoes. The Boudin balls were tasty - and had a nice crispy texture. The Swamp Mustard is really good with the balls. The Cajun Omelette was rather ho-hum - I was expecting and hoping for something with more complexity and heat. The smushed Boudin balls were rather bland. The Omelette was cooked properly. The breakfast potatoes were unseasoned. I'd like to try out some other menu items - I'm hoping for something that will Wow me. Paid with Apple Pay. #NewIberiaKitchen

The Plantanos (fried plantains), delicious. The Boudin ball? It was okay. But everything else? chef's kiss. And if you're lucky enough to be there on someone's birthday, you might score a free Ube bread pudding--delicious! Not an intense Ube flavor, but still a sweet, satisfying finale that'll make your taste buds do a little happy dance. The vibe is pure small-town magic--dining in the heart of rural hospitality. Service? Warm and welcoming. Ambiance? Charming enough to make you forget you're basically in the middle of nowhere. Would I drive back through the countryside just to eat here again? Absolutely. It was one of those meals where you pause, smile, and truly savor every bite. Pastry Chef Ebony not only created a custom anniversary cake for us -- which was absolutely delicious -- but she was also our server for the evening. Her attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care made our night feel even more special. She anticipated every need and added such a personal touch to the entire experience. Sous Chef Diego and the entire team contributed to an atmosphere that felt warm, intimate, and welcoming. The ambiance was beautiful and private, and the complimentary sparkling wine was the perfect way to celebrate such an important milestone. This was our first anniversary -- the beginning of many more to come -- and Blue Rock made sure it was unforgettable. Every detail, every flavor, and every gesture reflected genuine care. The interior gives upscale sports bar vibes. We chose a high top table toward the back of the restaurant. Our server ended up being the bartender too. They had $5 margaritas that night so I ordered one and we started with an order of their pierogies. There were four and they were served over a smear of their beer cheese. There were ok. I wanted more seasoning in the filling itself. It was pretty bland. For my entree I got their hot dog with chili and cheese with their housemade chips. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cheese sauce on the dog. It was pretty good. Some of the chips were pretty overcooked. The service brought this score down. I think the bartender was busy but plenty of servers were available. There was a lot of conversation at the bar. We probably should have just sat there.
