We got the smoky sampler, side of potato salad, 2 corn muffins, and 2 additional sauces (crown sauce and hot & spicy). A must-try is the ribs, I haven't licked a bone clean that quick in a while. Crown sauce is a sweet sauce while the spicy sauce is perfect for when you want an extra kick, but not an aggressive kick. Sides were great, and my potato salad expectations are higher than ever after that meal. Corn muffins have a little sugar sprinkled on top. Service: 5/5 the only issue is that this place is not open 7 days a week, just Fri-Sun. Server was kind and the other employees that walked by the table asked how we were doing multiple times. 3.5 stars. Perfect pit stop after hiking at Shenandoah. I was so hungry I forgot to snap a photo. They have great hospitality, the owner was chatting it up with everyone. I was a little let down by the food given the high ratings. There are a few stands out, such as the corn bread and the chicken. They know how to do chicken - it was juicy and well seasoned. This was the star of the show. The pulled pork sandwich is phenomenal as well. I thought the ribs and sausage were standard but the beans, coleslaw and potato salad were not good. I got the crown sauce and hot bbq sauce - I would skip the hot one next time. It's super vinegary and has no bbq taste. Go with the crown sauce forsure! Stopped in around 1pm for lunch on a Saturday. There was a line of about 15 people when we arrived but it was moving at a steady pace. I waited about 10 minutes in line to order and another 10 minutes for our food to be ready. Triple crown BBQ definitely lives up to its glowing reviews! For $15 I got the 1/2 chicken combo meal that fed me for two days. The chicken was a big portion & delicious. The baked beans tasted like Smokey apple cider which I loved. And the potato salad was standard. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich combo for $18 which includes 2 sides and a drink, he was very satisfied with his meal. Although it was only 1pm they were already sold out of their corn muffins, I'll have to come back to try them! Seating is all outside, with limited parking on the premises. They do a great job at wiping down dirty tables quickly and emptying the trash bins. Everyone working was very nice and this location is dog friendly! Very delicious. I had a tri-tip sandwich, which is served cold. I greatly appreciated that on a hot day. They also have 5 or 6 different BBQ sauces you can choose from. And the prices here are good, especially having driven in from Washington DC (which is stupid expensive). Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture because I was busy eating my delicious sandwich. Found this place during me and my boyfriends visit to Shenandoah. This place was realllllyyyy good. As out of towners, we weren't sure what to expect and couldn't decide what to order, so we ordered the sampler. Unfortunately, they were out of the chicken and so we had to substitute for sausage. Personally, we weren't big fans of the sausage, could have been cooked a little longer. It didn't really have that smokey taste we were hoping for.The ribs, pulled pork, and tri-tip were top-tier. The sides we chose were really good too. They were out of the baked beans too, sadly. Overall, yes it's a food truck, but a very good one. The service was quick and the employees were very kind. Great stop after Luray Caverns! We tried their pulled pork and chilled tri-tip sirloin. I thought having the tri-tip sirloin chilled would be off putting but to my surprise it was fine and delicious. The meats were all tender and flavorful and their homemade sauces were delicious. It's hard to make a mustard BBQ sauce and they nailed the recipe. Their baked beans were one of the best I've had. It was unique in that they had chunks of apple in there. The corn bread was just okay. I highly recommend a stop here if you're in the area! read more

This is a really nice pit stop before visiting Luray Caverns! It is only 4 minutes down the road. When we pulled up, the owner (I'm pretty sure that's him) waved to us and said hello. He was super friendly and you could tell that he enjoys what he does. I am not sure if it was family owned and operated but this little BBQ spot is wonderful and feels like it is! It's always a good feeling to support small businesses. There is an area to sit outside with tables equipped with umbrellas to keep you cool in the summer. FYI-- there are no restrooms on site but just a stone's throw away is the subway attached to the gas station and they let you use the bathroom in there (I'm sure they are used to it with this BBQ place right next door). When we went on a Sunday around 12:30pm, it was not busy-- only us and a few other people. We ordered the sampler for 24.00 and the pulled pork sandwich for 10.00. I am not really a BBQ lover but I found this place for the rest of my family. The sandwich was really good-- the bun was so soft. My mom really enjoyed their corn muffins. We were out here to see the Luray Caverns. We did the long guided tour and by the end we were STARVIN! I recommended we find some roadside bbq as it's something you just can't get up in DC/NY/PHI. This happened to(thank god) be the place that came up first. When we got there the first thing I realized was the service was perfect. Walked us through the menu and what they recommended really well and told us to wait by the tables. The food came quick, hot, and tasty. I recommend any bbq lovers get the chicken, the black pepper glaze that it comes with was to die for. The sides were packed with flavor just like they came from your grand mom's kitchen. Most importantly the beans were full of bacon grease and brown sugar/maple syrup. The view from the road of the neighboring hills was fantastic, great ambiance. I can't recommend triple crown enough, the manager cam by and asked how everything was to everyone that had ordered which was a really nice touch. If you read this you gotta come here. read more

Yeah, this is the place to stop if you love bbq. Its a stationary food truck with umbrella covered outdoor seating. Our family got 1/2 rack of ribs, sausage, tri-tip sandwich, corn muffins, potato salad, coleslaw. After trying all the items, id happily get them all again. The tri-tip had a nice smoke ring, the outside had a very peppery edge. It was a cold sandwich but full of flavor. The sausage came in a bun, my son really liked it. My 1/2 rack of ribs came smothered in wet bbq sauce. They have a lot of bbq sauces to choose from for people that want sweeter or spicier or vinegar based sauces. This is a must go bbq place if you come to visit Lurray Caverns or hike in the valley. The hours limited and there are always lines for a reason. The bbq is GOOD! I've tried a variety in the area and it is definitely the best. There aren't any bathrooms and if you come in the summer it's going to be hot. However, the sweet ice tea isn't very sweet and very refreshing. My fiance and I have come both our times visiting Shenandoah and it's been the best food spots in both our visits. read more

We both ordered the pulled pork and 2 sides, with a side order of corn muffins. The pork sandwich was heavy with filling with the Crown Sauce to top it off. The sides: beans, slaw, and potato salad were all really good. The beans were a bit sweet for me, I prefer more smokiness in the flavor. Family run, hidden gem BBQ. We came here after visiting the Luray Caverns, about a three minute drive down the road, and it was incredible! They take credit cards and cash. The family that runs the station is very sweet and the bbq food is the best I've ever had! Ribs fell right off the bone. Smokey meat sampler, side of potato salad, Cole slaw, and sauces. The meat fell right off the ribs and the pulled pork is to die for. I am not a bi fan of potato salad but their homemade p.s. was incredibly delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is one of those spots...no thrills, but you see a long line waiting for whatever is being dished out, and you just know that the food is going to be fire. Just look at the faces of everyone else in line with you, and you'll immediately see the quality of food that Triple Crown has been delivering to the community. I know I've mentioned the line twice now, but with that said, it moves pretty quickly and they have a QR code to scan a menu or you can view it as you're waiting at the order counter. They have a nice selection of barbecue meats: from pulled pork, to smoked chicken, to ribs to tri-tip. They have their own selection of sauces as well which they help pair for you. I found it really hard to make up my mind on what to order but I heard the grill master mention something to the guy in front of me about needing to get the tri-tip sandwich so that's the route I went; along with trying their sausage. Everything that I had was delicious. Even their sides hold their own ground. For the town of Luray this is definitely a stand out spot whether you're a local or a visitor, you have to cross this off the list. There is outdoor seating, so if you couldn't wait to eat it until you got home, you shouldn't have a problem. Being roadside and no visible kitchen or smoker, we have been hesitant to try. Order the sampler and was a little underwhelmed by the amount of meat. The flavor of all the meats was wonderful. The house sauce, Crown Sauce was a good mix of vinegar and flavor. Not to spicy like many Carolina sauce, choosing spice over flavor. The Sweet Sauce was just right. First of all the owners are the nicest people you could ever meet and know BBQ! The Pulled pork BBQ was absolute perfection! The right amount of smoke, tender and juicy deliciousness. We chose Baked Beans, Potato Salad and Coleslaw for our sides and they were all on point and the best compliment to the BBQ. Everyone complimented the baked beans!
