4 ate for $85.04 before tip. Fish N Chips good - Country Fried Steak okay and portion large - red skinned mash potatoes excellent but small scoop - didn't match the steak - not enough - Mac and cheese really good - side salad okay but very small dressing and wasn't enough to cover salad - then lastly - charges extra for CC payment - just figure the merchant fees into your menu - the more merchant fees you pay, the more money the business is Making - good food overall - weird portion control - good service and clean

Hot dog platter & grilled chicken

We stopped by Ollie Cat while in Luray and decided to try the hot dog platter and the grilled chicken. Overall, it was an okay experience, nothing outstanding but not terrible either. The hot dog platter came with two dogs and sides, and while it was decent, it didn't really stand out compared to other local spots. The grilled chicken was cooked fine, but the flavor was a little on the plain side. Portions were fair, and the service was friendly, and very quick food was done in 15 minutes! The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, which works well if you're looking for a no-frills meal in town. That said, for the price, we were hoping for food with a little more flavor and consistency. Overall, I'd give it 3 stars -- average food, good enough if you're in the area and want something quick, but not a must-try.

Ordered take out on a weekday while visiting the area for a few days. Staff were friendly and gave some recommendations on what to order. Food came out quick and tasted great. If we had more time would have loved to come by on a weekend when they were busier, definitely looks like a neighborhood staple

After checking out the caverns, we went to town and grabbed lunch at Ollie Cat! The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating and engaged with not just us but all the other customers. Very personable staff and just makes you feel right at home, especially if you're also a social butterfly. We got mimosas, and food items from the sandwich menu and some fries and we were quite full. The owner gave us stickers for finishing our plate which is a nice memorable keepsake. It was very chill environment with a bar and a jukebox. Will definitely be coming back!

Food, service and ambiance. Expensive and low quality. Friday night and only 5 others in the place.

Skip it. Went for a quick bit to tide us over for dinner? How could hot dogs be so bad? Not sure how this could be rated so high.

Best option in the town of Luray, but that's not saying much. Good service, food was ok.

Service was amazing. Food was great and their homemade BBQ sauce is a must try. I only wish they bottled the sauce!

Great Find In Luray…read more Went hiking with my family in Shenandoah National Park this weekend and overnighted in Luray. We happened across The Chop House by mistake and a lucky one it was! Everything about the meal was fantastic! Our server Pete was terrific. My brother-in-law hit the nail on the head when he said "He was the most unpretentious, informative and friendly server I've run across". Very polite and helpful, you could just tell it made Pete happy to be helpful. The menu is not large, but the dishes we ordered were all top notch. First the Focaccia Bread came and it was just right, a good sigh of things to come. Next the Crab Dip. We are from Annapolis, a crab crazy town on the Chesapeake, where every restaurant has their own "award winning" crab dip, so we are very well acquainted with some of the best, but this one knocked it out of the park. It would win the "Best of Annapolis 2026" if this restaurant was in Annapolis. Next came the Sirloin, at Pete's recommendation. Salted perfectly, and cooked correctly to medium rare, with a side of asparagus cooked to crisp perfection and seasoned with a garlic butter that was just fantastic. We rapped it up with a flight of deserts to share, at Pete's recommendation. Deconstructed Cheese Cake, German Chocolate Cake, Creme Brûlée, and three of their house made ice creams. Again, just Wow. And when the bill came, again a very pleasant surprise. Steak dinner for 4, with cocktails and wine and the bill came to $250. Back in Annapolis that meal would have easily been $400 or more at Lunes Steakhouse, Ruth Chris or the Chart House. My wife and I agreed this meal was better than any we've had at any of these high end resturants. I can't recommend this place highly enough. We'll be back, and nothing against the other servers, but we'll make sure it's on a night Pete is working. Great job Pete and to everyone in the kitchen, just a terrific meal. She answered our many questions about the menu and made great recommendations based on our preferences. I had a delicious carrot soup followed by a wonderful chopped steak burger. The topper was the german chocolate cake with a thick and rich (butter cream?) icing! This converted house provided a cozy dining experience. It is worth the short ride from the caverns to have a meal here.
