Food was good and served fast. I ordered cheeseburger opted for lettuce bun, they accommodated easily. The kids had crispy melted grilled cheese sammies, soda and chips! Great pit-stop after viewing the caverns and working up our appetites.

Food was what I expected. Good assortment of soft drinks and ice cream. Definitely a menu any kid can eat from.

I stopped in for dinner , after the Luray Caverns and Cooters, yesterday, June 13, 2026, and felt…read morethat warm, homy feeling as soon as I walked in. Shannon, the owner and I chatted for quite awhile on how "Ollie Cat Cafe" came to be. The restaurant location on how many different things it was previous was quite fascinating, soda shop, pharmacy, opera house. Loved, the vibe and feel from this small town cafe. The atmosphere, passion, and dedication of Shannon , as one of the owners is something; I personally haven't seen in quite awhile in a restaurant. I ordered the Panko seasoned flounder sandwich that was outstanding, delicious, light and flavorful. The sandwich came with the side, and was delighted that they were fresh vegetable medley with the perfect amount of seasoning. Wonderful staff and dining experience. If you are local to Luray, VA , Harrisonburg, VA or surrounding areas; support Ollie Cat Cafe, youll be happy you did. If your on vacation, and looking to support, a local hardworking couple and a unique flavor palate menu, that Tim & Shannon bring with their Florida background, this is your cafe.

The servers were lovely and were attentive, despite how busy it was. They must get overflow business from the beer garden because I don't know how this place survives. I know that we were overflow business. My son ordered fish n chips, I ordered panko crusted cod in a wrap. We both received the exact same fish that appeared to be from a bag of frozen Kirkland frozen fish sticks (I know, because I buy them there). My wrap did not have lettuce or tomato as described in the menu. My son found a hair in his tartar sauce. Side salads looked like bagged salad. The rest of our party also experienced tasteless items (pasta, country fried steak, etc.) and none of us finished our meals. Water was as Bethelhem described -- very metallic. However, the servers did replenish our sweet tea multiple times and it was probably the best part of our meal.

We got the smoky sampler, side of potato salad, 2 corn muffins, and 2 additional sauces (crown sauce and hot & spicy). A must-try is the ribs, I haven't licked a bone clean that quick in a while. Crown sauce is a sweet sauce while the spicy sauce is perfect for when you want an extra kick, but not an aggressive kick. Sides were great, and my potato salad expectations are higher than ever after that meal. Corn muffins have a little sugar sprinkled on top. Service: 5/5 the only issue is that this place is not open 7 days a week, just Fri-Sun. Server was kind and the other employees that walked by the table asked how we were doing multiple times. Ambiance: this is a food truck with outdoor seating, which is about 8 picnic tables all with umbrellas.

I was a little let down by the food given the high ratings. There are a few stands out, such as the corn bread and the chicken. They know how to do chicken - it was juicy and well seasoned. This was the star of the show. The pulled pork sandwich is phenomenal as well. I thought the ribs and sausage were standard but the beans, coleslaw and potato salad were not good. I got the crown sauce and hot bbq sauce - I would skip the hot one next time. It's super vinegary and has no bbq taste. Go with the crown sauce forsure! Sweet tea is delicious and a nice way to wash down the meal.

After a day of spelunking...of sorts...we were ready for dinner. Before heading out to Luray, I…read moreresearched what restaurants were in the area. Circa '31 stood out as they had burgers, salads, sandwiches and some main courses. When we decided to go there, our son-in-law looked up the directions and we were pleased to see it wasn't far from the Caverns and an easy drive. The restaurant is in the Mimslyn Inn and is easy to find it once inside. Since we were having an early dinner, there was only one couple in the place. Our server seated and greeted our party of six. We sat at a huge table that could accommodate twelve. She arranged things so we were seated at one end. She took our drink orders. We all had soft drinks. I was pleased to see that they had sweet iced tea. Along with our drinks, we were given a bread basket and some butter with chives in it. The bread was fresh and the butter added nice flavor. For my main course, I got "butternut squash ravioli and lobster". This was a great dish. It consists of: "Butternut squash and parmesan ravioli with sauteed lobster and asparagus in a tarragon cream sauce". The delicate flavor of the butternut squash came through clearly. While the parmesan barely registered, that was fine with me. The tarragon cream sauce had great flavor yet it didn't overpower the components of the dish. The lobster portion was generous. Three in our party got the "Country Ham BLT". It consists of: "Fried salt cured Virginia ham, fried green tomatoes, crisp lettuce, pimento cheese on grilled rye served with a pickle and seasoned waffle fries". Those who had this sandwich raved about its flavor and its uniqueness. More than once they said how much they liked it. Two got the "Mimslyn burger" which consists of: "6 oz. local Burners Farm ground beef burger, lettuce, tomato, thick sliced red onions on a toasted brioche roll served with a pickle and seasoned waffle fries". One could add cheese for no extra cost and had a choice of different cheeses. Two added American cheese to theirs while one chose no cheese. One decided he didn't want fries and the server told him he could substitute a veggie from the selection in stock. He chose collard greens as he never had them before and wanted to try them. Everybody liked their burgers and fries. The one who got the collard greens didn't like them. To me, they looked bland and my guess is that was why he didn't like them. We didn't have dessert even though the offerings were tempting. I had hoped to post more photos but one of our grandsons offered to take photos of the sandwich, burger and collard greens...but...they didn't come out. The dining room has that southern charm to it. Our server was very nice and since it was slow when we were there, she engaged us in conversation. If you are in Luray and looking for a good spot for dinner, we all highly recommend Circa '31.

I took one sip and said I'd like to send it back (probably the first time I have ever asked to return a drink in my life). They charged me for the drink anyway. Ordered the duck. The mashed potatoes were good. The broccolini was acceptable, and the duck (ordered medium-rare) was medium-well done, and incredibly disappointing. My husband ordered the chicken. The chicken was acceptable, as was the broccolini, but the couscous was flavorless and gross. I would not recommend going here.

Well it all came down to the customer service and food delivery time. When we first sat down, nothing was mentioned to us about the service times. We were greeted and just kinda tossed into a spot. I say it that way b/c they weren't very amenable in how they sat us. After sitting down, they did the order, drinks, etc. like usual. The catch - they were MASSIVELY behind on their ticket times. Was it busy? A little, there were still seats around us available though. Now when I say massively behind, it took us nearly 50 minutes for our food to arrive. That's just crazy for a lunch service. In the future, if they were that behind on ticket times, it would help all the customers in the restaurant (allowing tickets to stop backlogging), and set the expectations for the new customers coming in. Maybe it was a one-off, but it definitely prevented us from even considering it when we were looking at places to eat. Food Taste: 5 Overall Service: 2 Value of food to cost: 4 Facility: 5 Ambiance: Mom/Pop place that has a nice rustic, yet small town and nostalgic feel. Repeat customer: eh.. maybe? Dog Friendly: no

Stopped by Skyland Diner during a visit to Shenandoah National Park to grab lunch between hikes…read more The biggest highlight is definitely the views. It's hard to beat sitting down for a meal surrounded by such beautiful scenery, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. As a vegetarian, I found the lunch options a bit limited. I ordered the Brussels sprouts and the ALTO vegan sandwich. Both were perfectly fine, but neither really stood out. The food was average overall, though I was grateful to have vegetarian options available while spending the day in the park. I did notice their dinner menu includes a roasted vegetable stew, which sounded more up my alley, but unfortunately I was there during lunch hours. Overall, come for the incredible views and convenient location while exploring the park. The food didn't wow me, but it served its purpose and the staff made for a pleasant experience.

I think you could just sit here all day and enjoy the mountain breeze from sunrise to sunset - you get both views because of where Skyland is positioned, but the sunset is definitely peak (pun intended) The food though, is not the best. We got the Mac and cheese which was decent, but definitely looks better than it tastes, but the "beef stew" has nowhere enough sauce for the amount of rice they give you, and the rice tastes like the 1 minute rice you get at the supermarkets. Definitely come to enjoy the views, but don't expect much from the food to elevate the experience.
