Fun Fact Folks: there's a Burgerhaus in Valpo! My husband and I brought our parents and their Hoosier palates here. We knew this would be place that had options both in and out of their comfort zones. My husband's father, a man of simple tastes, sighed in relief when he saw The Haus in all its straightforwardness, while my mother jumped at the chance to eat exotic Haus fries with parmesan and truffle oil. I was in a pretzel bun and chorizo sort of mood, and luckily the Salamanca satisfied both of those cravings. It's a hearty belt buster but worth the calories. Since all of our folks found something they liked, everyone left content and full. If you're with a party of many tastes, Burgerhaus will have something that everyone will enjoy. read more

Amazing food. I enjoyed the burger Of the month. This was my first visit to the establishment. Me and my wife enjoyed every minute of it. It was our anniversary so we stopped in for lunch and once again like I said, lunch was amazing. Service and hospitality was way beyond professional. Thank you guys, you made our day greater. read more

Burgerhaus never disappoints. Fast service, and quality food. Kids love the deep fried pickles.

Great food! Definitely proud of their food I would eat here again though. Date night destination for sure.

Great place. Burgers were excellent, service and beer were also. We will be back next time we visit our VU student!

We had a 50th Anniversary celebration here 5-4-24. We cannot say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is. The staff is exceptional, the room was beautiful, the food was delicious, every plate a picture that tasted as good as it looked. Everything was served at the same time and hot. From our fist inquiring to the last guest leaving they treated us like royalty and everyone felt very special. We can't thank them enough! We will be back! read more

Checked this place out on a business trip. I had the Vienna Burger (applewood smoked bacon, beer-braised onions, bacon jam, provolone cheese, arugula) and fries (which I converted to the garlic parmesan truffle oil). Flavor of the burger and fries were really good. If I had one negative to say, it was you could tell the burger was a preformed patty. Handmade patties have a certain texture. You bite them and they just want to fall apart because the meat hasn't been mushed together too much. My opinion is if you're going to claim gourmet burgers, go the extra step and form your own patties. Again, it wouldn't stop me from eating here again, but it would take it up to the next level. read more

Outstanding food and service. Worth the price given they use much better ingredients.

Another successful lunch with burger cooked perfectly to order! Server, Amber A, delightful! They hit it every time!

Tried the burger of the month, philly burger, absolutely mouthwatering. Fried pickles with Cajun ranch is to die for. Can't wait to try about 9 more things from the menu because it all sounds soo good. Staff was super nice and service was not as fast as I imagined but it was lunch time and they got hit with a rush. Definitely try it out! read more

The food here is amazing. I love going and sharing a burger with my boyfriend and fried pickles. They're quick to get you seated and put your order in. I highly suggest the fried pickles as they are the best in the area (current opinion from trying several other restaurants) and very well done. read more

Great burger and fries! Service was a little slow, but not bad at all. Both my burger and my friend's burger were cooked exactly how we were wanting them. I recommend this place if you're wanting a burger! read more

Gave the service here a second chance and was still disappointed. Was seated by the hostess and checked in on by the hostess before our server even acknowledged us. The Drinks were slow to show up and were incorrect and half of our appetizer was cold. read more

We absolutely love the food! We live close but I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad we have only gotten takeout so far. We do plan on going in to eat. The atmosphere is as enticing as the food!! Sheesh. Food is soo good But the burgers are hella expensive lol but its whatever you can afford.

Stop for a good burger and some great craft beer! We were visiting my wife's aunt and wanted to grab dinner before heading home and Yelped up The Burgerhaus which was one of the few good restaurants open on a Sunday! We ordered the fried dill pickles (a southern favorite) on recommendation of our waiter. I ordered a Bell's Hopslam and excellent DIPA and my wife had an iced tea. We then ordered some burgers. I had the Vienna and my wife had the Cajun Creole burger with out the bun. We both had side salads with champagne vinaigrette and feta cheese dressings, respectively. The pickles were fresh and crispy with a battered coating which was tasty but I prefer a crispy corn meal type coating. They came with a creamy ranch dressing with complimented them well. The Vienna burger came with a bacon jam with a couple of slices of bacon with cheese and arugula! Very nicely done to me medium well order. My wife really enjoyed her burger that came with shrimp, andouille sausage, cheddar cheese, crispy onions, spicy peppers and chipotle sauce on the side! The side salads were good except for they had two thick cucumber slices that were at least a half an inch thick each that you had to cut with your knife to eat them (minor issue). Food 4.5 While I didn't rave about the fried pickles they were good and it was matter of my preference. The burgers and craft beers were very good. I will say their selection of craft beer is better than most places. I sampled another beer a Three Floyd's Robert the Bruce that was very good as well (I should have had it first as the Hopslam messed up my taste buds. Service 4.5 - Our waiter met us at the door and seated us. He was very pleasant and checked in on us and helped out with both beer and food selection. He unfortunately forgot to bring my wife's to go tea but we had to go and could have reminded him. Atmosphere 4 - Well appointed with nice comfortable booths with warm wood textures. Price 4 - They are a little pricy, but I would god back as the food is worth it! OA - 4.25 - A good place to go for a beer and burger! read more

A little pricey in my opinion, but quite tasty. Salads are really good here, and their fries are the best!

Move over Red Robin this place has delicious gourmet burgers & great appetizers. I'm a picky eater but there is nothing bad you can order on the menu. Can't decide? Their Burger of the Month is always a great choice no matter what. read more

I really like the place. I would consider myself a hamburger snob. I thought they had interesting toppings from shrimp to chorizo. The hamburger was very juicy and tasty. My high school friend and I met there for lunch. I had the Valparaiso Salad which was very good and my friend had their signature burger. We also had their artichoke dip appetizer. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty on a very cold winter day. So, I hadn't seen my friend for several years and we had a lot of catching up. The staff didn't rush us out the door and kept refilling our drinks. They were wonderful! read more

Your place is GREAT!!!! I got the burger of the month for June 2022 -- The Clemson. Sensational! I wanted to try a new-to-me burger joint. Found you on iPhone maps. I was a little hesitant because of a couple of recent reviews. These reviews turned out to be bogus. SO GLAD I came in! Your onion rings and remoulade sauce is TASTY! Success to Burgerhaus! Love the vision of the owners! Thanks for pressing through the pandemic so that I could try you. read more

My wife and I visited Burgerhaus for the first time yesterday after attending a New Year's party where word got out of their legendary Spicy Black Bean burgers. We were skeptical but gave it a try. Oh my mother of God! are these things delicious. One bite and the wife and I were like ravenous beasts chowing them down. After the first bite we looked at each other, her with big approving eyes, both shaking our head yes, so enraptured in this burger we could not speak. I don't think a word was said until both burgers were devoured. Obviously, we'll be back! read more

I came here for a late lunch/early dinner with my boyfriend and my parents. The timing was perfect and there were not many people there, so we were seating right away. Our server was super friendly and super helpful. She answered all of our questions we had about the menu and even where the beef is sourced from. I don't eat meat, so I asked about the black bean burgers. I usually love black bean burgers and order them from burger places as long as they are homemade. These were not homemade; even worse, they are from Gordon's Food Service. Yikes. I said no thanks and was prepared to give this place 3 stars tops, but then I ordered a wonderful sandwich. I also asked where the beef is from, fearing that they were frozen patties from Gordon's as well. Much to my surprise (and comfort) they are sourced somewhat locally from a place in Michigan. However, the beef is not grass fed. Yes, even though I don't eat meat I still worry about things like that. I ordered the Mediterranean Portobello sandwich, which had Brie cheese and caramelized onions. It was awesome. The flavors were perfectly balanced and it was one of those situations where I was sad when I finished the sandwich. It came with fries which were seasoned nicely, but I was too focused on the sandwich. Amazing. My dad and my boyfriend both got the Aussie burger and they absolutely loved it. It has a fried egg, bacon, mayo, and lettuce and tomato. My dad had the cole slaw as his side and it was wonderful. Had a bit of a bite to it, too. Yum. My mom ordered the special burger I don't remember what it was called but it had avocado, a bruschetta type topping, and mozzarella. It was also served with giant potato wedges with a tequila-infused sauce. The wedges were really good and my mom was really happy with her burger. Our food came out fast and my drink was never empty. This could have been due to the time that we came, but overall this experience was excellent and I highly recommend this place! Enjoy! read more

Another satisfied customer. This was my second time here. The shake machine was working tonight. A cool Saturday evening after a full day. I wad looking for a simple, easy meal and then home to relax. We started off with the fries made like a taco with steak. And since they make the best shakes in town... we each had a shake. Had the Santiago burger tonight, which included fried jalepeno, chipolte mayo, chipolte cheese, avocado & tomato on a pretzel bun. You can get fries, Cole slaw or side salad with your burger. I got a side salad with ranch. They have a large variety of beer here, too. Just not really a drinker. read more

Wow!!!! This place is absolutely amazing!! My fiance, Mom and I came here today, looking for a place we've never been before. It's typically hard for us to find new places to eat because I have Celiac disease and have to be gluten free. Not only does Burgerhaus have a gluten free bun, it is one of the best I've had anywhere. I had the Baton Rouge, a beef patty with grilled shrimp, andouille sausage, and remoulade. To say that it was impressive, would be an understatement. Every bite was an adventure of flavor and texture. The tender shrimp, the snap of andouille sausage, and the your teeth sank into the perfectly cooked beef patty and veggies. My fiance had the vienna and my mom had the Monaco. Both of them said their burger was above and beyond outstanding. I highly recommend the Carne Asada Fries for an appetizer. Such amazing flavors!! read more

A great choice for a gourmet burger. I ordered the Aussie Burger. It was really tasty. The wife had the BurgerHaus burger. She really enjoyed it. We didn't get the French fries but the salad. It was a great combo. My sons ordered the American cheese burgers and a milk shakes. The shakes were thick and rich. The restaurant is really small. We had to wait for a table. But the wait was all well worth it. They have a small bar that offers a great selection of craft beers. We love coming here when we are in the area. I truly enjoyed the burgers. I highly recommend it. Enjoy! #SeñorFood read more

The regular cheeseburger I had was very tasty but the turkey burgers seemed like frozen patties that my fiancé had! The artichoke appetizer though was a huge amount and both it and the chips for dipping was excellent! More than enough for 4 people! Staff was very friendly and attentive! Came in to grab a burger for lunch and like most places in Valpo the parking is kind of limited. When I came in the front door place looked clean and inviting. Had to wait for several minutes to be seated and that seemed to be a on going theme. Seemed it was nobody's job to seat or greet people. Today I had the Aussie Burger medium rare and I upgraded my fries to the Garlic Parmesan for two dollars more. The burger had good flavor and the bacon that came on this burger was awesome however my burger was well done which was a disappointment. The fries where just ok didn't need to spend two extra dollars on them because they didn't really have much taste to them. The restaurant did have a patio for outdoor seating which was nice and they had a nice little bar that had several different craft beers on tap which was a nice surprise. I was kind of surprised on the bathroom size it was just a one person bathroom which was clean just dark. Although I would say the service wasn't that great today and the food was average in my opinion. I will come back and try some of there different burgers and other options. read more

Love the unique salads and burgers! My favorite is the steak California salad. The line dressing is wonderful! Service is ok.

Actually as a vegetarian I was pretty happy with the garden patty! I thought the burger was a little more than the usual and the fries were pretty good. I tired a banana bread beer that was bottled, the patio isn't great but it is probably the best they could do with what they have. read more

Never disappoints! Visited this past Friday and while it was busy, the staff was still extremely attentive and friendly. Fried pickles were amazing and crispy!
