Cowboy burger, it's a handful of deliciousness.
Steven B.

Top notch burgers! I was totally impressed with the cowboy burger. If I'm back in Truckee, and looking for a burger this is where I'll go. They have a good selection of chicken and veggie options too. As Mikey sez: try it, you'll like it We did !

Burger Me is a popular casual counter service restaurant in Truckee. Parking is street metered only but is inexpensive. $1 should give you plenty of time to eat here and a little extra time to walk around. Burger Me has both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered their hamburger that comes with a 1/3 lb. beef patty for $9 and then added lettuce, tomato and pickle at no extra charge. For another $4.75. I upgraded to a combo with a fountain drink and onion rings. With tax it totaled $15. The food was delivered in less than 10 minutes. At first glance those onion rings looked beautiful with their dark brown color and were large in size. Taste wise, I liked them less. The batter was hard rather than flaky and I think the batter overpowered the onions (3). Not bad but just average. The burger was equally attractive on a brioche bun and dark green leafy lettuce sticking out on the sides. I added a little ketchup and chowed down. This was a very good tasting burger that I would be happy to order s as gain (4). Finally the counter service was warm and friendly. I like Burger Me and would return but might try one of their french fry options instead. If you are looking for a quick and inexpensive meal while in Truckee come here.

Yummay! Anytime I'm in Truckee and craving a burger I stop by this burger joint! The people at the front are awesome and the burgers are made fresh! A highlight for me are the onion rings! They are BIG and I'm guessing beer battered because they have this awesome crispy crunch to them! The burgers are cooked perfectly and make you happy when you see them come out! Pro tip: make sure you remember to pay for parking when you pull up :)

Cowboy Burger & Sweet Potato Fries

This place definitely hit the spot after a long days worth of snowboarding. The ambiance was good. Felt like an old school diner. Very plain and simple. They even got 2 vintage arcade games in the corner of the store. The service is nice. The cashier was really nice and brought our food out fast! The food was great. I got the cowboy burger burger with sweet potatoes fries and it was great. The burger was cooked to a medium how I asked for it. Very flavorful and juicy. The bun was toasted nicely and it was soft. The sweet potatoes fries was definitely a great side with everything. It was seasoned well and it was very crispy. My overall rating for this restaurant is a 4/5 star review. Will definitely be back whenever I am in the area!

Nice outdoor dining and dog-friendly on the patio.

Burger Me comes up quickly after you get off the freeway. We arrived at noon and we thought that parking would be tough but we were lucky and found a spot quickly. The ambiance is casual. The Sevice is great. We were on the deck and they brought out food to us maybe 5-10 minutes. On the porch you can bring dogs. The tables are spaced apart too so our dog wouldn't be able to mingle. We had the Dipped Sandwich with Onion Rings and Fries. Best French Dip I have ever had. The fried onion strings and cheese kept the meat from falling out. If I am ever in Truckee again I would definitely come bac

A busy burger joint located in Downtown Truckee. You place your order at the counter and then pick up your food. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, and when I read that the sandwich had the Cole slow and buffalo sauce, I was sold! I was not disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the cowboy burger; he enjoyed it but could not finish it because it was enormous. My son had a cheeseburger with fries. It's a very laid-back atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Finding parking can be challenging.

Order at the counter. Grab a table and they bring out to you when ready. If you sit outside, watch out for flies and bees. Staff is friendly and engaging. Elk burger $15.50 is loaded. Not dry at all. Love the bacon and red onions. I really could not tell if it was elk or beef. The bun is amazing...soft and pillows. 2 unisex restrooms. The one I went to is a bit dirty... it really needed to be cleaned.

Great visit! We stopped by last week when passing through the area. Not a ton of seating available, and they were quite busy at lunchtime. We only saw paid parking, could be a lot but we didn't see one. The restaurant has a cool vibe, good menu, service friendly. We ordered some burgers, fish Sando, Big Dippa, fries & o-rings...as well as a shake to-go. Every bit of the food was enjoyed. My mom could only take down half of the fish. My daughter and I shared a burger and the Dippa, both really good, but we both found the Dippa to be extra tasty. Highly recommend that! The o-rings were a bit batter heavy for my liking, but aside from that the rest of the food was terrific. Very good scratch made strawberry shake...no pull of the shake machine handle here.

First time to this little burger shop in town. Apparently, it is a popular little gem everyone else already knows about! They were busy but quick to serve food on a weekend afternoon. We stopped in after snowshoeing with an outdoor group. There were so many options to choose from I could not decide! I ended up splitting an ahi burger and a beyond burger with my dad so we could each revel in half of each kind of burger! Both were amazing - dad even bought Beyond Burgers from the store after having it here! Now that is saying something! Parking was plentiful right out front and was inexpensive. I can't wait to return to try out other items and I will definitely get their fries next time!

Very warm and very friendly to talk with. She was always checking on me to make sure my water glass was full and how b my meal was. Super nice person!! The beet salad is "To Die For!" The dressing on this fabulous! So tasty it's addicting! The beets, candied walnuts and cheese mixed with the arugula was such a fantastic and delicious combo! I'd drive 4 hours just for this salad! The all meat pizza is delicious! The tangy tomato sauce is a very welcomed change of flavor when compared to other pizzas. The sour dough crust is a welcome change too! Very tasty with the tasty meat toppings! The beer flight I had was delicious! I liked the first one a lot! I'm not a very big drinker but I liked the first one. The stout is very delicious too with a fairly strong coffee flavor. All the beers were very yummy! GREAT: wings, fries, beet salad NOT GREAT: Fish and chips (they're fish sticks) chicken parm sandwich (they're chicken tenders), pizza (sure is a pretty pizza oven though) Also, the dining room is small, and too often the setting for employee drama played out in full view of customers. Maybe schedule a team meeting and hash it out there? Things don't usually improve when the employees are more self-involved than they are concerned about customers. That's not why we visit.

Food came out quickly, which was impressive for such a big party. The appetizer meatballs were delicious, and I had the veggie burger with chimichurri aioli which was also really good, it tasted like a handmade veggie patty, not one of those overly processed Impossible-style burgers One small note from our table: the veggies (asparagus + broccoli) were almost too salty to eat. The food came out (not from our waitress) it, tasted decent, but $16 for a kids meal is outrageous (especially when it doesn't come with a drink ) We never saw our waitress again after she dropped off the beer menu until she asked if we wanted the check, then she TOLD me the price and held the iPhone up for me to pay--like, no paper check at all to review and you aren't even gonna let me hold the iPhone to pay with privacy? Because the tip will reflect the service... They also stated on the menu that they charged $ .50 for any ' sauce' requests...which is so weird considering that none of the meals were cheap. Not sure if they followed through with this because I couldn't actually view my check. Super disappointed in the experience overall, there seems to be a lot of places in the area to eat, I'd reconsider coming to this one.

The mushroom quinoa veggie burger and the half-pound cheeseburger are our go-to orders and have never let us down. The coffee roasted carrots are genuinely worth ordering. They're not what you'd expect, and they're good enough that we've ordered them the last two times. The 10 oz. bistro filet is worth trying if you're in the mood for something more substantial. Portions are solid without being excessive. The bar is a real draw. Full bar, decent wine list, and the service at the bar is attentive without being pushy. The cocktails are well made. The old fashioned in the photo says everything you need to know. What surprised us most: the to-go orders are actually good. We've been burned by to-go from places we love before, so this was a pleasant surprise. Quality holds up. They take reservations and handle groups well. Go ahead and book ahead if you're coming on a weekend. Get the carrots. Order a cocktail at the bar while you wait for your table.

The best roasted carrots (usually!) But the other night we took friends there after raving. Hats off to the amazing host for seating us even though we accidentally made the wrong reservation date (their friendly service is still stellar!!) My pork chop was overcooked even after saying let the chef decide how to cook it. Dry and hard to cut. The normally amazing roasted carrots? Meh. Had a strange taste we didn't like. Maybe the coffee rub? Just seemed hard and flavorless. And my husband and son shared a ribeye that was overdone even though they asked for medium rare. Too tough on outside for sure. The mashed potatoes still rock. And they were out of TWO their signature cocktails. Poor planning? Or take it off the menu. Not sure if the chef or management has changed but I really really hope they get it back together. As I said, this place has meant a lot to us over the years. Hope it was just an off night?

But if you can, definitely hit up their location in Tahoma, as this is one of the best place I've eaten in the whole Tahoe area. They're in this quaint little shopping center. Parking is relatively easy, though the actual number of spaces is rather small. Nothing too fancy, just order at the outside window, and either take your order to go, or sit at one of their indoor counter spaces or outdoor patio seats. (Which, if it's nice weather, why would you NOT!?) The menu is nice and simple. A few renditions of burgers, some additional toppings, one or two sides, and beverages. I thought the fries were just kind of alright, and the milkshakes did look tasty, but wow, the burgers are really where it's at. I ordered the El Reno, a very cheesy burger with charred onions, and it was extremely delicious, perfectly cooked, and pretty sizeable. Takes a lot to bowl me over with a burger, but they certainly did it. Prices for the burgers were kinda up there. I know, I know; these are like real quality burgers and in Tahoe during tourist season, so be prepared. My burger was $18, and keep in mind that does not include fries or a drink, as you need to order those separately. Service here was also pretty darn friendly and fast for me, too. So yeah, I highly recommend checking them out, especially after a good morning's hike or swim. Great to see a spot like this on west shore.
