    Crowd during FIFA games
    Richard K.

The new building downtown Truckee is architecturally beautiful and functional. Is amazing how the staff is handling a big crowds during FIFA games! The atmosphere inside and outside is great and the beer of course too! Looking towards to future visits.

Flat iron steak plate. Fingerling potato's harder than the rocks at the lake, and just dry almost like potato jerky.

This place was disappointing. The ambiance is fun and they have live music outside and sport playing inside. Great place to catch a game or just hang out. The food though was mediocre for the price point. The burgers were good and straight forward. The flat iron steak plate was disappointing. I ordered it medium and it came out pretty rare. The side of fingerling potato's tasted as if they had been cooked the day before and reheated. They were dry and hard and inedible. I picked at the inside of a few that were soft but not of them were just rock hard and overcooked or overheated. The asparagus was good. The fries were good. The service was good, out server was quick and the hostess was very welcoming . The nachos were not the best. The cheese seemed to be microwave to the point it hardened on the chips. For the price , I'd expect better quality especially for the steak plate. I'd probably just order a burger, or wings if I ever went back.

My sister got engaged at Donner Lake, and we had originally made a reservation at another restaurant to celebrate. Unfortunately, when we arrived, those plans fell through. We walked into Fifty Fifty hoping they might be able to help, and from the moment we arrived, the hostesses and front-of-house staff immediately jumped into action. They quickly put together a beautiful outdoor table for my sister and her fiancé to walk up to. They were genuinely excited to help, assisted me with decorating, and even found candles to make the setup feel extra special. Our server was just as incredible--he immediately brought out champagne and even helped us blow up balloons! I am so grateful to the entire team for going above and beyond to make such a last-minute celebration unforgettable. Their kindness, enthusiasm, and exceptional customer service turned what could have been a stressful situation into a truly perfect evening. Thank you, Fifty Fifty, for helping us celebrate such a special moment. We will never forget it!

That new restaurant is beautiful. Spacious and light. Had lunch with some friends and the service was prompt and efficient. The fish and shrimp tacos were plentiful and delicious.

Sierra made great drinks and the pulledpork sandwich Alexander made was amazing. Did not disappoint at all. Don't forget a beer flight or a blueberry lemon drop. Enjoy the live music right outside the bar. Love the drinks food and vibe. Best small brewery worth food ever

Burger and onions rings 4/5 - burger was very good. Patty was juicy and had good flavor. Onion rings were my favorite. They are crispy without being overly battered. We got seated right away but it took a long time for the food to come out. Almost all tables were filled though. Great service

We walked in brand new building with modern warm features. Inside spacious and inviting. Sports on the TVs. Warm fireplace with cozy couches. Best burger! Wow! Juicy and not overcooked. Sweet potato fries super yum. Chicken sandwich was juicy and good portion! Service was slow but the server was busy with most of the tables. I'd recommend this place for sure.

The new 50/50 location is fantastic. It is large, very large for Truckee, and two-levels. It has very large TVs with sports tuned in. We started with a flight of beer. All four of the local crafted beers were good. We had Nachos. It was a large plate with plenty of meat and the chips appeared to be homemade. The chicken wings were good. The prices are reasonable for Truckee. The service was fast and the food arrived quickly. The entree meals were pretty good. The onion rings were awesome. Two complaints: 1- kids running around everywhere, and 2- the servers did not know anything or offer any information about the beers that they served, even when asked. My son ordered one draft, and the server replied, we are out of that one, but this other one tastes the same." Not a good answer for a brewpub. Yes we will for sure come back. This new location just opened a month ago and I am sure they will smooth out the rough spots. Overall it was a nice experience.

Cauliflower bites on the appetizer menu; best breading ever!
    Kendra J.

Both food and service were absolutely top-notch! We're a combo of locals/somewhat locals and 50/50s food was on point with high expectations. We had: -The appetizer pretzel: was good! (I make homemade pretzels so I have "opinions." LOL) And -The cauliflower bites, with a little heat. The cauliflower bites were perfectly spicy with the best breading I've ever had! (And, trust me, I'm quietly picky about breading things... let alone things that naturally sog out. We agreed they were the star of the meal. Give it a go; you won't be disappointed!

The pretzel starter, Half Moon Bay burger, and fried chicken Sando were absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and service!

Alibi was a cool spot with awesome wall art inside their bar and in the adjacent dining area. You order at the bar and can choose either scene to enjoy your food and drinks. The dining hall was more lit and made a cozy spot to catch up with friends without too much loud noise. I ordered their seasonal Asian Wonton Salad ($15) with a sweet dressing and loads of cabbage, carrots, and onions, and it was a refreshing bite to pair with my draft beer. Drinks were fairly prices and had a great selection of local choices. If I'm ever back in warmer weather, would definitely enjoy checking out the outside patios.

My fiancé and I were celebrating our ENGAGEMENT with a party of 9. We had been looking forward to this place for SO long and were so excited to spend an entire evening here. For VERY important context, both my fiancé and I were restaurant and bar managers for several years. Neither of us have ever raised our voice at anybody working at a restaurant, bar, etc. We are literally an entire crew of service workers or former service workers who are very respectful of the entire industry and its practices. When we walked up, the older blonde woman working the front was extremely hostile and rude from the jump. I was trying to ask questions about the venue, food options, etc before we went in, and she began barking at us for IDs immediately. Not a single hi, welcome in, etc. Just immediately aggressive. My fiancé, who is 27, gave her his Oregon ID. Considering this state is literally a few hours away, you would think they are fairly familiar with this ID, but apparently not! She began aggressively and repeatedly bending the ID to the point we sincerely thought it was going to snap it in half. Despite it being obviously real after looking at it under a light (Oregon has very specific and complicated patterns, it's widely known as the hardest ID to make a fake of), she said she didn't believe that it was real. We were a bit baffled, and insisted it definitely was. She asked my partner what his zip code was, and because we had just moved, he gave her our current zip before realizing she meant the one on his ID. She laughed and said "nope, i'm keeping this! This is a fake". She said because he said the zip code wrong, she wasn't going to give it back. At this point I got angry. I told her that 1. It is 1000% a real ID and 2. It is completely illegal to hold somebody's ID hostage. Her and her coworker got really defensive and told me to "just calm down" despite her continuously bending it and laughing. She kept saying "I'm allowed to keep it if it's fake" which it WASNT. It is completely illegal what she was doing. This is THEFT OF PROPERTY, so I was absolutely not going to calm down. My fiancé called his parents to hopefully get a photo of his passport to diffuse the situation. The older woman who was holding us hostage demanded to TAKE HIS PHONE and speak to his mom. She then grabbed it and walked all the way down the sidewalk, spinning around and giggling. It was one of the most bizarre things I had ever witnessed, and frankly, we believe she was intoxicated. Her coworkers looked incredibly embarrassed and wouldn't even make eye contact with us. She finally came back and we took the ID and phone back from her. She never once apologized for stealing our property, almost breaking it, and falsely accusing us of committing a crime. Not even an inkling of remorse. Just giggling. I told her how absolutely unprofessional and illegal everything she just did was. Luckily, we have legal resources that we will absolutely be exploring this week, because no patron deserves to be held hostage, have their property stolen, and not even receive an apology. Not only did RMU tarnish what was supposed to be one of the happiest nights of our lives, they lost out on thousands of dollars (that we spent elsewhere that night) from our party because their hostess had a major power trip. To make matters even worse, we had other folks join up with us later that night who also stopped by RMU and had equally unpleasant experiences. They all said that the same rude hostess was bending the ever loving life out of their IDs and being incredibly snarky.

The beets, candied walnuts and cheese mixed with the arugula was such a fantastic and delicious combo! I'd drive 4 hours just for this salad! The all meat pizza is delicious!
