The blond lady with a strong accent at the counter argued with me after I got fry's with my over done fish sandwich, I asked for salad and she insisted I get back in her line !!! 2 managers working on the computer behind the bar refused to wait on anyone! It was really busy as more people had come for their scheduled flights after ours got canceled due to weather at around 8AM. The line started the grow, so the cashier lady loudly told everyone that food will take 20-25 minutes to be ready because she only has one chef and can only do takeout since the place was full. I'm not sure if maybe someone was mean to her previously but she seemed impatient and unfriendly with everyone, including us, even when we had only just met her and weren't concerned about the wait because we would be there for the next few hours. It didn't feel fair to act that way towards everyone else, but she seemed to softened when we came back and picked up our food. Despite the long line and the tables all being taken, the chef was honestly really fast and finished our food in about 10-15 minutes instead. There was plenty of seating, it was just very busy and the whole place was clean and the decorations and branding were very well done! It was eye-catching and easy to read as there was a menu at the front as well as behind the cashier. The takeout materials were environmentally friendly and they put parchment paper under our food so it didn't soak through the paper takeout box. We were also provided plenty of ketchup and napkins! The only thing we didn't get were utensils but that was fine. We ordered the Little Miss Figgy burger and frites, which was their award winning burger! It really caught my eye and it was cooked medium just as we asked. The burger itself was juicy and the cheese melted well. I liked the sweet and savory sauce, but my sister thought it was too sweet and 2 of 3 of us thought it was pretty spicy (I had to pick out a lot of peppers and I can usually handle a decent amount of spiciness). The flavor profile was good but was maybe missing something to cut the sweetness like arugula. It was still very good! And I had Parmesan fries which tasted great but could have been a bit crispier. All in all, they have a really great selection of food and I would love to try their other items, like the breakfast omelets served before 9:30am! They had a good selection of drinks that you can grab on the go by the cashier as well. This is the only food spot for L 20-28 so if you don't get food before getting there you are stuck with this as your only option. Ive been here before and I always tell myself to get something else if I fly out of these gates. The line is always long, the workers are usually slow paced, and the food is expensive even for airport food. This time I got the hotdog which is a footlong and it comes with a side salad or fries and they don't let you upgraded to tots so I ordered tots on the side. The hotdog was charred which I wasn't a fan of. The tots were the best part. This isn't my choice of airport foods but when it's the only one I guess I'll take it. read more

Chicago Burger was very good. Service was not so good with our first server but very good with the second. Atmosphere was comfortable and fun and we saw the USA Men's hockey team win the gold! Fresh soft brioche bun delicious lemon aioli tasty green arugula, the fries were very good too. who could ask for more.the bartender/waiter/ busboy was a whirlwind! He was happy quick and well focused on keeping the place moving. There's a few tables in there and luckily I got a spot. There's table service if you sit down but there's a to go counter too. If you all travel at all, you've been stuck in an airport layover! This trip I find myself at O'Hare for 4.5 hours so lunch was on the menu. I felt badly being at a burger joint and ordering chicken, but the schnitzel sandwich sounded pretty good - and it was. Crispy, white meat chicken cooked all the way through with a nice sauce and side salad with a zippy vinaigrette dressing. The bun, an underrated part of any sandwich, was a nice soft brioche. The service a bit slow but the place was filling up fast and there appeared to be only one server. As far as ambiance goes: while it's a sit down spot, it's in the airport, so it's loud and crowded, something you should accept in an airport eatery. Burger Federation is a good choice for lunch if you have time at O'Hare. It's not that the food takes long to prepare, it's that Burger Federation is all the way at the end of the L concourse near L21. That said, not as much people traffic and can generally get a seat. The food is great and amply portioned. Burgers are good! They have non burger offerings as well. It's airport priced, but if you are eating at the airport, this is a legit good option and value. It's smaller, but cute and clean. Staff is helpful. read more

As far as airport food goes, your better off trying ANYWHERE ELSE. Burgers have no flavor. You need to tell them in advance if you are eating on their tables or "to-go" or the will kick you out. Quite rudely as a matter of fact. It won't even matter if you just paid nearly $100 your 3 burgers and sandwich. The lady will literally leave her counter from taking orders to shame you for not telling her in advance your intentions to eat there. She takes your order begrudgingly and could care less customer satisfaction. I don't know if this restaurant cares whether you come back or not after they get your money. I was not really happy, I thought the burger I ordered was poorly prepared and messy, the egg that came on it was barely cooked, it was clear and runny. IT came with tots that looked like the cook accidentally dumped the entire salt shaker on them, they were uneatable. I should have sent them back but I had been flying all night and I was too tired to complain. The guy working the room was mostly talking with friends, loudly singing, and goofing off. I had to ask to be seated, asked to order, asked for my drink he forgot, which was never refilled, and asked for my bill. Then he comes out after me for getting a small tip for his bad service to complain about the tip. Sorry, but if you want a good tip then earn it. I work at the airport, and I like to treat myself once a week to the "airport-priced" food at one of the many restaurants here at O'Hare. Tonight I went to Burger Federation in L concourse. It was crowded. I was going to sit, but there was nowhere to do so, so I decided to take away. Earlier in the week, I looked up the menu to decide what I wanted. The 1st item on the menu, Little Miss Figgy, sounded delicious. I ordered my meal, the burger and fries. I waited about 15 minutes. When I was "buzzed" to get my burger, the lady with whom I placed my order said, "BLT." I said, "No. I ordered a Little Miss Figgy." She then began to get unreasonably nasty and accusatory. We actually argued back and forth about this for a good 3 or 4 minutes. I thought with such a nasty personality, she should work for TSA. ;) Never an apology, never offered to remake it, nothing. Then I think she was accusing me of stealing or something, because she mentioned that the figgy burger cost more than I paid. Finally, a gentleman helping move the food out of the kitchen had them make me my burger. The burger itself had potential to be good...BUT the bun was cold, like it was just pulled from the fridge. The spicy overpowered the sweet instead of complementing it. The jam and sauce puddled in the plate. The fries were cold and were the bits that are in the bottom of the basket. If all these things were corrected, it would be wonderful! Customer service, though, ruined this for me. Considering 1/2 my job is recommending places to eat to the passengers at O'Hare, it is really unfortunate that I will have to warn people to avoid this establishment. read more
