Breakfast sausage yummy!

Great little restaurant on Howard st in Biloxi Came in for lunch and all tables were occupied Two gentlemen invited us to share their table My friend ordered the burger with a side of Mac and cheese I ordered catfish basket The mac and cheese was really creamy and full of cheesy taste My catfish was fried to perfection and served with a side of tangy tarter sauce The gentlemen next to us ordered the specials Red beans and rice, salad, sausage Butter beans and rice, salad and sausage After seeing their ate and smelling the incredible aroma I wanted to change my order to one of theirs! If I knew them better I would have asked for a taste ! I found out they were open for breakfast and wad not disappointed! Eggs sausage and hash browns A bit of a wait for meal but we'll worth it Side note, during lunch the men at our table said we needed to taste their cabbage dressing It would be available at lunch on Tuesday My waitress at breakfast brought me a small container to try OMG! Cabbage, cornbread and a peppery sweet taste! Wish I could take a quart home! Down home friendly good food place!

Current menu, but they said they were getting new ones in soon.

I recently traveled down to Gulfport, for a solo vacation and glad I found this spot. It's an easy walk if you stay at the Hyatt or Hampton Inn Gulfport. It's an old house they converted into a wonderful restaurant. I was there on Friday, May 27th for breakfast and at that time they had only one waitress and she was wonderful. The Chicken Fried Chicken is what I finally ordered after going back and forth on getting that or just biscuits and gravy. The Chicken breast is boneless, and lightly breaded and fried. It wasn't greasy at all and the chicken was so juicy. The breading was light and not heavy at all. But OMG this fat kid was in heaven, with the gravy. It had so much flavor and it was wonderful. You get your choice of bacon or sausage. The bacon was crispy, but a bit too spicy for flavor for me, but trust me I still ate them. You also had a choice of egg which I dis over hard and they were done perfectly. Choice of toast or biscuit. I highly recommend the biscuit. It was so light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch. It comes with grits, but I'm a hashbrown gril and they were wonderful. When you pay at the counter after your meal, check out the homemade pies and goodies. I got two chocolate covered cashew bites, that were amazing. It was nice to see this is also, a spot where locals come and eat and not just a tourist place. In the end, I highly recommend you walk here since you will leave stuffed and fat kid happy. I miss it already and will be back next year!

So the story goes, the original "Burger Burger" was developed in nearby New Orleans and made its way east to Biloxi sometime after 1947. The sandwich was sold in a local restaurant for years until one day, the perfect home of its own became available and the Burger Burger restaurant opened up, selling their proprietary sandwich, along with daily specials - their version of traditional southern dishes. Also on the menu, traditional gumbo, salads, seafood baskets and breakfast. Here I've buried the lead, haven't I? The "Burger Burger" is like a hamburger poboy - on toasted French bread with mustard, diced onion, and special sauce, which they also call "gravy." Somebody described it like "Swiss steak" on a bun, and maybe that's apt, it's sure different than a hamburger poboy in New Orleans which can be incredibly plain and dull. They have other "specialty" burgers as well, in a form you might be more used to seeing. Being as this is primarily a hamburger website, and I write about burgers a lot, naturally I took one look at the menu and went right for the..........catfish. That's right. I couldn't seem to get enough fried catfish this trip, so it pretty much showed up in front of me once a day. And was I ever glad. Burger Burger makes perfect fried catfish, accompanied by fries, slaw, lemon and tartar if you wish. It was a lighter, slightly seasoned batter, perfectly crispy, the fish resting inside done to perfection, moist, not a hint of grease. Dandy. Service is frenetic and friendly at the same time. Like they took classes in "Southern hospitality." Quite sure they mentioned everything was made in-house. The restaurant is located in an old residence and the walls are chock-a-block with vintage photos and nostalgic memorabilia. I'd like to go back.

Excellent food located in a small old house. I had the hot sausage hamburger. They make their own hot sausage and blend it with hamburger meat to make the patty. The hot sausage reminded me of Patton's hot sausage from New Orleans and I consider them to be the best in the world so that is a high compliment. The service was good and I will return when i am in the area.

The establishment itself serves a variety of quick bites in addition to fresh made pizzas, sandwiches, hotdogs, soups, and other snack like items. It was extremely busy during my visit, but they managed the line pretty well. I decided to grab a cup of gumbo in addition to a chicken salad sandwich on toasted bread. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be prepared, but when I did receive everything, it was freshly prepared and freshly plated. The gumbo was better than I expected for a fast food snack bar, however the rice that they add to the gumbo somehow winds up in a large ball in the gumbo itself, which makes for a messy eating experience. The chicken salad sandwich was not the greatest, because therethey truly was not a decent amount of chicken salad on the sandwich, and the salad itself was not very flavorful. Overall, though for a late night snack bar, they do have a lot of offerings; service is decent and you should be able to find something that you like despite me having one of two items that wasn't the best.

Hot Dog was a good size but they didnt give her onions, and they just threw all the condiments in the bag. There was supposed be chips with both her hot dog and my so called Italian sandwich. No chips in the bag. My sandwich had like 1 slice of ham amd salami and 2 small pieces of cheese, the sandwich was 75% bread . Wont be ordering from here in future visits to the Beau Rivage. The whole atmosphere there is like middle school lunch room.

Key deserves a huge shout out for being such a sweet and attentive server. I liked her tremendously. We had the boudin egg rolls and the Swamp Tour Sampler: jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, gumbo, and red beans and rice. For dessert, we had bread pudding with beignets. The Boudin egg rolls were the best thing I ate on my entire trip. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy, every bite was heaven. The jambalaya was the best jambalaya I had on my trip as well. It had a fantastic smokiness and was not wet at all. I also loved the crawfish étouffée. It was creamy and loaded. The red beans and rice had a bit of a sweet edge that was not quite my taste. Try for yourself. The bread pudding was the perfect sendoff. Bite-size beignets were nestled in the bread pudding. It was a sweet, creamy, perfectly Mississippi dessert. I loved Parrain's so much that I bought a T-shirt. I generally don't like wearing clothes that serve as advertisements, but this place just has to be advertised all around the country. Key, thanks for a great lunch! If you're ever in Biloxi, Mississippi, you must go and try this little gem.

We split a few things between the two of us. We had the tour of the swamp. The red beans and rice was really great. Not always my favorite when we go out but it really stood out. Very flavorful. The etouffee was great. Wish there was more crawfish but I always wish there was more. We all probably do with most dishes. lol. The jambalaya was really good. Well seasoned. Now my wife is picky about gumbo and is a hard judge to please. I am a little more on the giving side and look at it from the perspective of "even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work" point of view. A day with gumbo is generally a better day most days. The gumbo this day was not great. I have heard amazing things and I was not impressed. I will only mark off a star because everything else was so great. I hope it was just a bad day and we will hope for a better next time. And there will be a next time for sure. The shrimp po boy was slam packed with shrimp. Great bread and dressed well. The boudin eggrolls were fantastic. Sift and tender on the inside and crispy crunchy on the outside. Loved them.
