My burger patty was small dry hard tasteless and overcooked. The fixings were chopped thick and rough. The grilled chicken breast on my sandwich was tough chewy and bland. We won't be back. I can only give average here and really struggling to do that. This is definitely one of the places my dad and grandpaw would have eaten at when I was a kid. Food has come a long way to be serving a bbq chicken sandwich with dry minced bbq and a glob of bbq sauce on top so it squirts out of the sandwich with every bite. The person with me had to send back a burger po boy bc the bread was so overly dry and crunchy that she couldn't bite thru it and some weird sauce squirting all out of the bun. I recently traveled down to Gulfport, for a solo vacation and glad I found this spot. It's an easy walk if you stay at the Hyatt or Hampton Inn Gulfport. It's an old house they converted into a wonderful restaurant. I was there on Friday, May 27th for breakfast and at that time they had only one waitress and she was wonderful. The Chicken Fried Chicken is what I finally ordered after going back and forth on getting that or just biscuits and gravy. The Chicken breast is boneless, and lightly breaded and fried. It wasn't greasy at all and the chicken was so juicy. The breading was light and not heavy at all. But OMG this fat kid was in heaven, with the gravy. It had so much flavor and it was wonderful. You get your choice of bacon or sausage. The bacon was crispy, but a bit too spicy for flavor for me, but trust me I still ate them. You also had a choice of egg which I dis over hard and they were done perfectly. Choice of toast or biscuit. I highly recommend the biscuit. It was so light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch. It comes with grits, but I'm a hashbrown gril and they were wonderful. When you pay at the counter after your meal, check out the homemade pies and goodies. I got two chocolate covered cashew bites, that were amazing. It was nice to see this is also, a spot where locals come and eat and not just a tourist place. In the end, I highly recommend you walk here since you will leave stuffed and fat kid happy. We went on a Saturday afternoon. They were already out of a lot of options. The burgers were just fine. The fries were very gross. You could tell the oil was not hot enough and they were just limp, soggy, and dripping with oil they had soaked up. I could tell the chicken fingers I ordered for my kids had okay flavor but had been way over cooked. The service was extremely slow as they only had one server...on a Saturday. The server was not especially kind but I'm sure she was stressed and trying her best. She had one gentleman who was helping her clean the tables. There was one table that actually got up and left and she followed them out the door! They had said they were waiting on someone and would return. They did not. I had wanted to leave but we stuck it out. I just think if you are only open from breakfast until 2:00, it is imperative you have epic service and amazing food...and all options available. So the story goes, the original "Burger Burger" was developed in nearby New Orleans and made its way east to Biloxi sometime after 1947. The sandwich was sold in a local restaurant for years until one day, the perfect home of its own became available and the Burger Burger restaurant opened up, selling their proprietary sandwich, along with daily specials - their version of traditional southern dishes. Also on the menu, traditional gumbo, salads, seafood baskets and breakfast. Here I've buried the lead, haven't I? The "Burger Burger" is like a hamburger poboy - on toasted French bread with mustard, diced onion, and special sauce, which they also call "gravy." Somebody described it like "Swiss steak" on a bun, and maybe that's apt, it's sure different than a hamburger poboy in New Orleans which can be incredibly plain and dull. They have other "specialty" burgers as well, in a form you might be more used to seeing. Being as this is primarily a hamburger website, and I write about burgers a lot, naturally I took one look at the menu and went right for the..........catfish. That's right. I couldn't seem to get enough fried catfish this trip, so it pretty much showed up in front of me once a day. And was I ever glad. Burger Burger makes perfect fried catfish, accompanied by fries, slaw, lemon and tartar if you wish. It was a lighter, slightly seasoned batter, perfectly crispy, the fish resting inside done to perfection, moist, not a hint of grease. Dandy. Service is frenetic and friendly at the same time. Like they took classes in "Southern hospitality." Quite sure they mentioned everything was made in-house. The restaurant is located in an old residence and the walls are chock-a-block with vintage photos and nostalgic memorabilia. I'd like to go back. read more

Excellent food located in a small old house. I had the hot sausage hamburger. They make their own hot sausage and blend it with hamburger meat to make the patty. The hot sausage reminded me of Patton's hot sausage from New Orleans and I consider them to be the best in the world so that is a high compliment. Heard about this place on the tour train so we decided to make a special trip to check it out. BIG Mistake! We walked in and most of the tables were dirty. We ended sitting with a lady at a table for four who invited us to sit there. The waitress never came to greet us, take our drink order, and flies were all over the place. After sitting there for 15 minutes I finally got up to ask her if she was going to wait on us. She said she had orders to deliver first. We couldn't leave fast enough. What a great find!!! The service is fabulous. So warm and friendly. Walked in just before closing (didn't mean to, but being from out of town, we didn't realize) and you couldn't tell that from anyone's attitude. Often , at the end of a shift people aren't careful about serving, their attitude broadcasts, "I just wanna get out of here!" Instead, at BurgerBurger, their attitude was welcoming and very friendly. The food was awesome. The best burger I've had in a long while. Everything was made fresh. I had the jalapeño cheddar burger with onion rings. Fried jalapeños give just the right kick! Onion rings are made to order from scratch. My friend had the classic burger and fries. Just as good. Advice from the server is come around 1:00 pm. That's when they have a little lull. I went here with my boyfriend for a quick breakfast. I forget what the name of the breakfast but it came with toast, eggs, meat, and grits or home fries. We both got the same breakfast and loved it. Food came quick and was great. They also made the 2 eggs as we ordered (I like mine scrambled well and his a little softer). I also ordered hot tea. For my first time there I wanted to try what they were famous for... the burger burger. I had the 18" (yes it was gigantic) and for 12$ it really filled me up and I was able to share with some coworkers too. So if you are a yellow mustard fan you will love the sandwich. If not I recommend trying something else. One coworker love the sandwich, another felt that it was too heavy on the mustard though she is a mustard fan, and myself who is not a mustard fan ended up giving away his sandwich :). My wife and I were able to visit Burger Burger again on a Saturday. Just like last time, when we arrived (around 10:45), we were the only ones there. Apparently, it is more of weekday lunch crowd. I enjoyed a fried jalapeño burger with pepper jack cheese and fries. My wife had a blue cheese burger, and I had a few bites. Both burgers were excellent. She enjoyed the sweet potato fries too. By the time we left, there were 6 other tables already full. Waitress was very friendly. Loved the local feel to the place. It was too cold to sit outside this trip. read more

WOW!! Best roast beef & gravy, EVER!! And not your run-of-the-mill RBn'gravy either, not any of that deli-sliced stuff, I'm talking about REAL roast beef, the kind most Southerners grow up eating on Sunday afternoon at their grandmother's house after church. And the bread just pulls everything together! (Info available at the restaurant said they get their bread from a bakery in New Orleans... it's delicious)! So basically after we had literally gorged ourselves on roast beef & gravy sandwiches, we ordered apple pie, because we couldn't wait to see what else Burger Burger would WOW us with, and again, NOT disappointed in the least; the apple pie was amazing! This is a place we will visit every time we're in town, from now on, and that I'll tell all of my friends & family about, because it's definitely one of a kind! It's real food, food that's easy to tell someone took time and care to prepare. (Do be advised that there's road construction on Howard Street, the road that Burger Burger is located on. We're from North Mississippi, and weren't familiar with the area, but managed to get to Burger Burger's parking lot from Porter Street by turning down Irish Street (I think that was the street name?), next to what looked like a fire station. Upon leaving, I think we might have also been able to access the parking lot from Beach Ave. on the opposite side as well. My wife and I eat out often, since we are California escapees, one of our hobby's is to seek out new and interesting places to eat. I only write about restaurants that are five star. Frankly, I have eaten at only a few that are below five star but I will not write about them. We have traveled and lived all over the U.S. and in Europe eating our way through very area we have been to. I just wanted to get the credentials down. Back to Burger Burger (should there be a comma between both words?). We learned about this small restaurant on a back street in Biloxi recently and decided to try it out. It was tough navigating the torn up street and getting in and out of the parking lot because of the street repair program in Biloxi but we made it. There are only a few tables so if you come for lunch, get there early. Burger Burger gets lots of to-go orders as well as their sit down clientele. The menu has some typical Gulf Coast items including of course their own style of burgers. Burger po-boys are a specialty on the Gulf Coast and we generally like the style of sandwich. The restaurant in this case Burger Burger hand forms the meat to fit the long form of the po-boy style roll. This means that the meat was probably not frozen. I had the "Burger Burger" hamburger, a mouth full and that's a fact. They offer the "full" size or a half size. Since I was eating it myself and not sharing with six people, I decided on the half. The Burger Burger is covered with "secret burger sauce" as the menu indicates. I added cheese and it came cut in half. Really, half sandwich cut in half. The burger was filling and tasty. It was truly different from the regular patty and bun style. I like it so much that I went back again to try another of their burgers. This time I had a that was made with cajun sausage and ground beef on a regular bun. It was delicious and spicy. Generally I spread mustard on all burgers but this did not need it. My wife has a burger made with Italian sausage and ground beef, again it was very good. We swapped half of each. Prices are good, the Burger Burger was $6.50 without the cheese, more than McDonalds, there no real comparison. The restaurant is located in a former house on Howard Avenue, an area that is undergoing a bit of redevelopment. I highly recommend Burger Burger for the interesting setting, building and very friendly staff. By the way they make some of their own desserts. read more

You know there are those places that fling a menu at you as you walk in and leave you to your own devices? Not here! They were very helpful with all my questions and very accommodating with my order. The food was quite good! The burger was moist and juicy and done perfectly and the bacon was super crispy and not burnt like it had just been shaved off the ass end of Satan's pet pig! The place is LITERALLY in the parking lot of Biloxi's main fire station so maybe Burger Burger is playing the long odds here...who's to say! We have eaten here twice for breakfast - once during the week and once on Saturday (yes, they are now open on Saturdays). Great service and food both times. As most of my friends know I am not big on fine-dining restaurants and would much rather eat at a diner or at a place like Burger Burger. A simple place that makes you feel at home. I first came here in '04 and loved it. Great service and good food were their selling points. Over the years I feel like the quality of the food has declined quite a bit. I used to go there for their lunch specials and of course for the burgers. I have tried all four of their burgers a few times over the years. The smokehouse burger was stellar before and my personal fave. The popular burger is their Burger Burger. It is served on a poboy bun with onions, mustard, and some special sauce. The burgers now seem to be rather tasteless and are not worth the $8 anymore. I consider a good burger one of the most satisfying things to eat but sadly Burger Burger does not live up to its namesake anymore. read more

I saw this place on a pbs travel show and wanted to check it out. I got their special burger on a bun - not the poboy bread. I would have like to tried the poboy bread but with the smallest size being 9", I had to pass. The burger is good and you will need a knife a fork to take it down. The Mac and cheese side was super and what lifted this to 5 stars for me. They used small noodles - almost like spaghetti cut to an inch or less.
