I sat on the patio, and it looked sad. It felt like they were all tired from the season. The tables were dirty and a bit disgusting. I arrived right before a wave of people for dinner. It was Tuesday and I ordered three tacos on corn tortillas. The plate looked awesome. The black beans and rice were ok; nothing special. My three tacos came as requested, pulled pork, Fajita chicken and carne asada. It came with pico and a crème guac sauce. The corn tortillas were a bit odd and you really couldn't eat them as a taco because they just falling apart. So I ate the filling. The pulled port was the best. It was lean, moist and so flavorful. The carne asada was just strange. It was very small curled up balls of meet. Charred and has no flavor. I don't touch the chicken. It looked like it was a repacked frozen sliced strips. Not my jam. I had asked for some sour cream but never received it. O would not recommend this late in the season.

The cozy, cabin-like atmosphere was charming and perfectly suited to the setting. Day 2: Unfortunately, dinner was a completely different experience. After enjoying breakfast so much, we were really looking forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary there. Sadly, the service was extremely disappointing. After we ordered, our server never checked back on us. An hour later, he finally stopped by and asked, "How was your dinner?" We were shocked and had to tell him that he had never brought us our food! We asked to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the manager wouldn't make eye contact, and brushed the situation aside. The manager didn't explain what had happened or tell us how he planned to improve in the future. It was such a disappointing experience, especially on our anniversary. It was surprising to have two completely opposite experiences at the same place. I don't think I would trust sending there now for breakfast and especially dinner!

This restaurant is part of the upscale Sun Mountain Lodge and well worth the 17min drive up the mountain from Winthrop. This was all top quality from the cocktail to the steak and I admire the attention to detail and creativity of the Chef. Of note, the steak was delicious, high quality meat, correctly prepared. Service was superb; the Dining Room will definitely become my new go-to restaurant when in Winthrop!

Jupiter is one of the best spots in Winthrop to dine at, if not, the best. Despite Yelp saying…read morethat this location is temporarily closed, we decided to still walk by and see if it was open and it indeed was. What a win for us, too, because the food was fantastic and exactly what we needed. We visited Jupiter for dinner on our first night in town and after a day of sunshine and hiking, we were hungry. At Jupiter, the menu isn't large, but they have a good range of items to choose from, in addition to local beers and wines. We were pleased that they had a large outdoor patio area where it's dog friendly, which is where we sat with our dog. You order and pay first inside at the counter, snag a number and a staff member delivers your food to the table. My partner and I both ordered different protein bowls and a salad and had a hard kombucha. My protein bowl was delicious with the steelhead as my protein of choice with rice, beans, jalapenos, greens, pickled red onions, avocado and a cilantro dressing. It was very filling, nourishing and delicious! The salad was also very good, with fresh greens in a light dressing. Everything was healthy and wholesome and left us satisfied. I highly recommend visiting Jupiter if you're in the Winthrop area for a meal. They have fresh, whole foods that are packed with protein and everything you need after a day of hiking. Plus, the patio for dogs cannot be beat as we learned that not everywhere in Winthrop has patio seating. Something to be mindful of if you're traveling with your best friend. I would definitely eat here again when back in the area.
