I had never been to a Burger Boy. Someone recently mentioned to me when I told them I was headed to San Antonio, so, I figured I would check it out I was impressed by the exterior design and decor. Flashing lights and inviting colors that beckon you in. Also, there was a drive-thru line wrapped around the building The interior was relatively clean. Again, vibrant colors, and a neat light fixture towards the entrance. There's a menu hung behind the counter where you order. Also, there is Burger Boy merchandise at the front The staff welcomed me, which was nice. I then had to wait until an attendant could come to the front to help me. While the menu isn't particularly extensive, the prices are very reasonable. I wanted to dine-in, but I was given all my food to-go The food was mid. The corn dog was actually very good, but it's difficult to mess up. The fries lacked flavor, and looked rather sad, the triple boy burger wasn't the least bit tasty to me. It tasted more like the grill than a burger or any other components. I wish there was a secret sauce or something, but it was dry. I saw that they were promoting the peppermint shake online so I inquired about it, but they looked at me like I was crazy, and said they don't serve that. The new Nutterbutter was pretty good. Again, I wish it had more flavor. The coconut shake on the other hand had flavor Some tips: If you want a flavorful burger consider going to another spot, but again, the prices and ambiance are solid. The shakes weren't bad. From what I've seen everyone knows about Burger Boy. I'm late to the party. Boy am I late! This place is TASTY! Good burgers, BUT . . . They have crinkle fries!!!!! Trust me when I state that GenX has a thing for truly good crinkle fries!!! This place took me so far back! ‍ I will drive to this location just for them. Oh & now they have a churro shake. Gotta try that too. Their prices are really great. I got a bacon cheeseburger with jalepeños, fries & a soda for just at $9. Better than most places now, & the burger was a good size. I'm not sure why but this location has consistently served burgers that are NOT hot, greasy, and on occasion the fries too. They used to which is why I kept hope alive to go back but definitely not going to return after this last disappointment. It's conveniently located near McCreless but there's other options for burgers that are served hot. The service is very nice and inside lobby is clean and in good condition. read more

Driving through SA today I realized it had been 7 months since I have had a burger. (unbelievable I know). I saw Burger Boy though I'd give a try. The experience started off great with Leslie taking my order, she made several suggestions, I went with the workman combo with cheese and jalapeños. As I drove down the road I snuck a couple of the crinkle cut fries which were perfectly cooked crispy on the outside and warm and soft inside, with the perfect amount of salt. We were looking for a quick drive through other than your normal fast food locations. The burgers are made to order, but the service was super quick and friendly. The burgers are so juicy and meaty. The fries were hot and fresh and not overly salty like some of the other fast food places. I got the double patty burger (the working man) and it was more than I could handle. He was knowledgeable, friendly & super professional. He repeated our order back to us perfectly, thanked us and wished us well as we drove forward. Came by this spot and was intimidated by the loooong drive-thru line... glad I stayed, the line went by faster than I've seen at a driv-thru for some time. Bravo! I bought a few combos to take home and had to get me an Oreo shake. Yummy! The fries were fresh... nice and crisp, burger was ok, but would like to give it a try as a dine in customer. The burgers are legit!!! I usually get the Bates Special (burger, fries, drink) it's filling enough for me. The meat is always fresh & love the texture of the buns. Really outstanding burgers! Seriously so good. They look pretty basic on the outside but the flavor of the meat to the perfectly toasted bun makes it all worth it. The prices are fantastic (family of 4 for ~$30!), and the orange freeze/dreamsicle shake are amazing. The atmosphere is like a classic burger shop, with dine-in or to-go options, and the service was great. This will definitely be a stop when we come back to San Antonio! read more

I went here yesterday for lunch. Wondering if it was like the one in Maui. IT WAS NOT! That's not a bad thing. I went through the drive through and the server there was very polite and took my order. I ordered a Bates Special with jalapeño (will say more on that) and a shake. The shake was awesome, perfect size, great straw, and they added sprinkles. It was very cool. I appreciate that. Now the fries were awesome. I would had preferred some seasoning but well made. Lastly, the burger. It was good the jalapeños OMG it was like the jar broke over my burger because there was so many. My mouth was on fire. I know this sounds like a complaint but I'm not sure I liked it but did not. I feel just a little less would have been amazing. Either than that I liked it. I have eaten at this location several times now and each visit is as good as the last. Jo-Lyssa works at the counter and it is alway enjoyable to see her there. She is extremely friendly and courteous an always has a beautiful smile. I believe she was made for this position! The restaurant is always clean and the restrooms are extremely clean. I live the original Burger Boy on St. Mary's and thought this one would hold up to its name. That was a big fail. I did the drive through in order to take my lunch back to work. I just asked for it to be dry and extra pickles. I was shocked when I peeked in my burger to see a mess of mustard smeared with my lettuce. I had to toss my bun and lettuce that was covered in mustard. I was very disappointed that this location got my order wrong. I will not be visiting this location again. I was intrigued when I walked in and was greeted with a huge smile by Enrique took the order and it came out fast the way it should. Customize the burger a little bit added bacon and jalapeños which came out perfect fries were hot crispy, presentation was excellent staff was clean cut restaurant was clean and a lot of people at about 11:30 AM.
