Burger bench was a pleasant surprise. Service was great. Everyone was very friendly. The ambiance is great too. It has a modern, rustic feel to it. The burgers were fantastic. I got the bench burger and my wife got the turkey burger lettuce wrapped. We also split an order of truffle Parm tots. All of it was amazing and reasonably priced. The lettuce wrap was nice because they used a lot of lettuce to wrap the burger. Some lettuce wraps just fall apart and this held together. I like to support local, family-owned spots, and the ratings here looked good. My wife & I were craving a burger, so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, after our first visit, it'll probably be our last. The burger was cooked all the way through (no option to choose doneness) and came out well done. The brioche bun, something I usually love, tasted a bit dry and definitely past its prime. The Parmesan truffle fries seemed like frozen fries topped with Parmesan and truffle oil, not much flavor and nothing memorable. My daughter ordered a vanilla milkshake, which had a plasticky, freezer-burn kind of taste. We thought it might be the oversized plastic straw. The staff was super nice about taking it back, but when they brought another, without a straw, it tasted the same. The place itself is cute, with great decor and the staff was friendly. But for about $50 for two adults and a kid, the food just didn't match the price point. They've got a nice spot, but the details need more attention to make it worth returning. read more

There's a big digital menu above and some menus on the counter for you to order from. It's usually pretty busy and we've lucked out in getting seating when we like. Today was our second time visiting Burger bench in Vista. It's located in downtown Vista Village on Main Street .Just like the first visit, they blew us away. On our first visit, we tried the slider trio and every single slider was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of pink in the middle and very juicy. This trip really sealed the deal for us with a medium rare, Swiss cheese, mushroom burger, and crispy tots with homemade ranch. We also enjoy the diverse beer, seltzer, hard kombucha on the menu. The burger today was so juicy and delicious, with the perfect amount of mushrooms, and the burger itself is so perfectly seasoned. You could eat this plain, and it would be delicious. But add this garlic aïoli to it that they put on this burger, and it takes it to another level! The staff is always so friendly, the place has been very clean when we've gone, and I will say the bathrooms also very clean! Needless to say, we will be back for this burger and many more! This is a new casual gourmet burger place on Main Street in Vista. I'm so happy they are there. Order at the counter and the server will deliver it to your table. We had the smokehouse slider (super highly recommended), the fried chicken slider (ok) , garlic tater tots (very good), and onion rings (close to the best I have ever had). Located in historic Old Town Vista, my daughter invited us for lunch at relatively new restaurant and what a wonderful surprise. Not only do they make everything fresh, is responsibly farmed and sourced beef and chicken, but their prices are very reasonable for the quality of food they deliver. Service was exceptional, and the staff seemed to enjoy their work, which tells a lot about the management of the operation. There's three tables in the outside patio, and the business is dog friendly. Lots of parking around old town and in front of the restaurant. As far as the burgers that I shared in the pictures, all of them were excellent, except my wife's chicken club which the chicken was cooked a little too well done but still tasted great just a bit dry. I can't wait to come out here again and enjoy another fabulous Burger and meal. I always recommend my Yuppies to always support restaurants that source locally and serve responsibly handled food that's quality. We need a lot more restaurants like this. read more

I've been here twice in the last 6 months. The first time I had their classic burger which was good, about a 7 on a 10 scale. Returned a cple of days ago to find that this time it had only a handful of people in there during peak lunch hours. I now know why. First the big tall guy at the counter had the personality of a rattlesnake and looked like he would rather be in his den than there. He sent the vibe that he could care less about the customer or their satisfaction. Secondly the burgers were small, dry, and lacked taste. The sodas were high in carbonated water and very low in syrup in order to improve profit margins. Soda is already the most profitable thing in any restaurant let alone watering it down. From the number of patrons and my last visit I would guess they aren't going to be around much longer if they don't address these problems. I cannot recommend dining here at all. read more

The space itself is big, definitely a good spot for a bigger group. You order at the counter then find a seat. I met my friends here and we all really liked our food! We came here on a Monday night and the place wasn't packed at all. Because of that, we were able to sit wherever we wanted. The servers there are super nice, too. I got the Inferno Chicken Sandwich and it was way more spicy than I anticipated, but I loved it! My only issue was my lemonade which was a little more watery than I liked. My friends liked their strawberry lemonade, though; I'll need to try that and the root beer floats next! The kids meal is also nice cus it comes with two sliders and fries for $9.50. I had the joy of discovering Burger Bench!! I was in the mood for a classic burger, fries milkshake dinner (that was different than in'n'out) and got so much more than expected! It's easy casual dining, and had a good music playlist. The service was great, and the team working was so nice, we appreciated the help from Eli and Diou. Every selection on the menu was so good. I loved that it had the option to do a slider sampler and a 50/50 appetizer, it left so much opportunity to try so many tasty options. Even a beer flight is offer, it awesome to allow so much variety and choices. We dined on Monday and I've told at least 8 people over the last few days. I am excited to go back and take more friends. She did a great job recommending yummy options and was patient as we scoped out the menu. The past 5 years, I have had the luxury of grabbing a quality Burger at their Escondido location! When I learned they were opening a new location in Vista, it was so elevating! It's only 10m away from home! Shout-OUT to the management and employees as it's been consistent here these past few orders I've made for pickup! Burgers - Fried Delights - Milk Shakes - Fantastic Salads - there is something for all cravings! The website's online ordering is great for modifications, especially the options for cooking your meat! The food is always ready, well-presented, and most importantly, delicious! Some of my favorite items I normally gravitate to are their sample sliders, Taco Burger, Truffle Fries and Tots - Onion Rings are not too shabby either with their house-made ranch! I love that the meat and buns are made with local ingredients, and that they offer some Gluten-Free and Vegetarian options as well! I have yet to try their milkshakes - they appear amazing just by their titles - Mud Pie, Smore's, Salted Caramel Pretzel... just can't seem to find room after such a delicious meal - but look forward to trying one someday - can't go wrong with hand mixed real ice cream! Yesterday evening, I ordered online and went to pick up, and was greeted by a tall gentleman who then flagged me down once my order was ready. :) Everything from service, food presentation and taste take time to materialize, and see they are off to a great start at this location! My niece brought us here for what I thought was a hole in the wall burger joint. But it's a newer burger joint. Atmosphere is lively and up beat. Service was excellent. This was my first time and wasn't sure what I was going to get but I ended up with a 3 slider meal... I got the BBQ, Smokehouse, and the fried chicken.. and every single one was absolutely delicious. I also order a half and half which was frys and onions rings which didn't disappoint. I also tried the wings. The wings were super crispy. Absolutely perfect. Lemonade was fresh.
