Ok, so this place gets 2 stars for how clean/ minimal the decor and jewelry is arranged. The jewelry is pretty and dainty. I have no experience with their permanent jewelry. The real reason I'm leaving this review is specifically for the piercing side of this business. I had no big issues with the initial piercing experience (the only thing would be that they never told me to return to switch out the bar), but I returned because I wanted to remove my helix since it is apparent my body doesn't like cartilage piercings and I just kept bumping my ear into things/it was healing poorly. I walked in and asked to be seen to have it removed. The piercer seemed like she didn't really know what she was doing, I would expect legit piercers would have tools to be able to remove piercings. I couldn't remember if this flat back was a twist on or the one where it just snaps on. She didn't seem to know either which I don't blame her (she didn't perform my original piercing) but she just kept twisting the piercing for a good fifteen minutes to see if it would come undone. At that point my ear was so raw and red; it would've been better if she just said she couldn't do it earlier on. She said it was because I had "crusties" around the piercing basically she wasn't going to be able to remove it. I'm really curious how they don't have any tools if something like this were to happen. Regardless, her solution was that she was going to call her boss and they would call me at a later date to arrange the removal. Because her boss was an "expert expert" and she was just an "expert" lol. That was the last straw that made me realize I would never come back here. 1) They never called me to follow up at least and see if I had resolved it or 2) at least pointed me in the right direction. Do yourself a favor and don't get pierced here. I went to Virtue Tattoo in Stafford to have it removed and it took Tim less than a minute to remove it. Absolutely seek them out for your piercing needs and don't come here for piercings. They are not thorough with after care instructions and won't be able to remove it, if you decide you want that. read more

I made a stop at the infamous new minimalistic jewelry boutique! I went in on a permanent jewelry day to get a permanent anklet placed by the founder of the boutique, Natasha herself!! She was incredibly kind and sweet, and definitely made the entire experience a fun one. She was very easy to chat with and very precise in her work. She's doing a wonderful job of bringing representation to the brand and field as a proud Pakistani and Muslim jewelry boutique owner. The jewelry pieces on display were also gorgeous, from which I purchased a simple gold ring with a delicate opal stone. I'd highly recommend stopping by here if you haven't already! read more

I bought the Wild west dangling huggies. Which i now see that they no longer sell. For the price of what i paid, I feel that i did not get my money's worth. It claims to be gold filled with a base of sterling silver. I get that this is a small business, but i just don't feel that my money was worth buying this crappy quality jewelry. Besides the tarnishing, the actual earrings were not secure. The closure itself wouldn't snap well and stopped working all together within a few months. read more

Got a permanent bracelet (gold) in December 2022 along with my cousin and sister. The price of these bracelets are absurd and the precision of welding it on wasn't as clean. It's completely changed to silver and it's only been 3 months! As their website states "All of our chains are 18k gold filled hypoallergenic and nickel free. You can shower with our jewelry and it will not tarnish or irritate you". Unfortunately this is wrong information given to anyone wanting a permanent bracelet. I'm Super disappointing for the amount I've purchased it for and for taking my sister and cousin to get these permanent bracelets. Sad read more

I am thoroughly disappointed because I really wanted to love this place. However, I did not have a good experience with their permanent jewelry. First off, I paid about $140 for one thin bracelet and tiny charm which seemed heavily overpriced, but I was not told the price before they put it on so it was too late. Secondly, I got a letter M charm on my bracelet, and unfortunately from the very first day the charm snagged on everything. Towels, sweaters, shirts, blankets, everything. So many of my things were ruined from this bracelet. Third, within a matter of days the bracelet began to tarnish. I got the gold option and it quickly began to change color. The charm and connecting pieces especially wore off their gold color and started looking silver within the first week. Fourth, now just three months later, I woke up this morning and the bracelet is missing. Not sure where or when it could have fallen off, but I definitely wouldn't consider this a permanent bracelet. I am completely dissatisfied with the entire experience and wish I could get my money back. read more

I really loved my initial bracelet! I had it for four months and rarely took it off. It did start to turn but it wasn't very noticeable, so I personally didn't mind that much. Eventually it broke, and when I brought it in I was told they don't repair this style. It's disappointing that they can't fix or replace it. No point in buying another. read more

Please read before buying gold jewelry from this store because my pieces tarnished. I am incredibly dissapointed in this store's owner. I discovered Burdlife in early December of 2021 and over the span of four months acquired 5 pieces (2 sets of earrings, a single earring, a ring, and a bracelet), in addition to me spreading news of my "new favorite jewelry store" to many of my friends. I purchased the "Baby Ella Pink Huggie" on 12/14/21, recieved the "Baxter Paperclip Bracelet" from my boyfriend on 12/25/21, and purchased the Kaylee Gold Ring on 3/10/22. During the last week of March, I noticed my ring and bracelet had begun turning silver, but wanted to wait until I got back in Houston to go into the store. On 4/7/22, I decided to email the owner since it would be another month until I got back. On 4/14/22, I get a response asking for photos of the jewelry, and I respond on 4/19/22 with photos, and after no response for two weeks, followed up on 5/2/22. I received a response the same day asking for my address, saying the replacement pieces would be sent out immediately. On 5/4/22, I sent in my address and offered to come into the store. On 5/7/22, I went swimming in a pool with my jewelry (I specifically buy gold filled or solid gold so I don't have to take it off), and the ring turned completely black (note- none of my other pieces from other stores did this). On 5/17/22, I had to take out all my jewelry and noticed my Baby Ella earring had also turned black. On 5/18/22, exactly 2 weeks after I sent in my address, with no email back and no package, I decided to go into the store. This was 6 weeks after my initial email. I ask to speak with the owner, introduce myself and the situation, and pull out the 3 pieces. She begins to tell me that this has never happened before and she doesn't know what happened, I tell her that at this point I would just like my money back. I tell her I sent her my address and she tells me she already sent them out, I ask her if she did since it had been 2 weeks and I had not gotten anything, she insists she did and I tell her I would be more than happy to bring those pieces back once they are delivered. She pulls up my purchase history and says that because I bought these pieces "7/8 months ago" she can't give me a refund, at best store credit. (Please note the pieces were from 4.5 months and 2 months ago by the time I was in the store). At this point she asks me if she can check out a customer, and I stepped aside. The 3 pieces were on the counter as the customer walked up, but the owner quickly pulled them behind the register. The customer asks us both if the pieces were tarnished. I wait for the owner to respond, and when she didn't, I responded "yes". The customer asks if it was a bracelet, to which I respond one of them was. The customer decided not to purchase and walked out. The owner then looked at me and said "So that was rude, you made her not buy". I had had enough at this point and she seemingly snapped at me that she would give me the money back. I thanked her and apologized for this happening because I really did love her store and wanted to see her grow. She perked up with a big smile and said "have a nice day", in what felt to me to be an extremely fake and condescending tone. All in all-- do not buy from here. I purchased the permanent bracelet with a friend and it broke off in 2 months, but I never saw where it fell off so when I went to shop the owner said, "it's permanent but but not forever." Neither 'permanent' or 'forever' apply to this jewelry. She was completely unapologetic that her cheap material didn't last and made it feel as if it was somehow my fault. do not get pierced here unless you are aware of what kind of Jewlery they should be piercing with. the piercers do not know- and do not have good enough training. I got my flat pierced and the put a butterfly back & plated costume Jewlery in. did not explain to me I 1. Should have been pierced with a flat back or 2. plated Jewlery is only for healed piercings not new ones- so I ended up having to take it out because it wouldn't heal a 1.5y later. (these should probably heal in about 3-6months) if I had known this I might've been able to save the piercing instead of having to let it heal. love their Jewlery but their piercers are not educated. read more

I got a permanent bracelet here and was incredibly disappointed. My mother brought me here for my birthday. After going home, as I live out of town, the bracelet broke immediately. Upon my next visit to Houston I took the bracelet to be re-attached. Not even a week later it was broken again. This continued two other times. The team is unhelpful and they claim there's nothing they can do for me. Not even sparing a new chain, only adding a loop and additional length to solve the issue (which is not the desired look). I will never come back to this store and advise everyone else to search for a better permanent bracelet boutique that will attach the bracelet in a more professional manner. read more

First experience was lovely. The owner took me through many pieces of jewelry to find the exact ones I liked. Their items are pricey but I assumed they are all quality pieces of jewelry. However, the backs of the studs are incredibly flimsy and don't secure the stud at all. I still went back a second time since their stuff is so cute and left with a faulty conch earring that was $130. They are also not well versed in changing complex piercings (conch, tragus etc) I went in and she exchanged the conch piece I bought only to give me the incorrect back which does not fit my ear. Waste of time and $130. I spoke to the owner (who did my piercing) and not only was she rude, she was not helpful at all. I would stick to getting your piercings and jewelry changed at tattoo parlors/ places with experience. read more
