I'm genuinely so surprised by the reviews I'm reading here. I will absolutely not negate or downplay anyone else's experience. I will say though that it is completely different from the experience I had. I came in on a Wednesday morning for my friend's birthday. We didn't schedule a set appointment, but they did know we planned on coming in. We worked directly with Lauren and only Lauren the entire time. I felt like she was genuinely consulting with us about what would look best and what we should probably stay away from. I appreciate this so much with a business like this. It instills a level of trust that doesn't make you feel like they're just trying to make a sale. Lauren ensured we both understood the healing process and everything that was associated with each piercing we were considering so we could make the best decision for ourselves. It was so refreshing for me since I've had awful piercing experiences in the past. I really felt taken care of. I felt like she was extremely safe and everything was properly sterilized. I decided to do my conch and third holes in both lobes. To my surprise, it didn't even hurt! The only reason I'm not giving the full five stars is due to pricing. I do feel like this business is expensive. I didn't have any pricing information before beginning the process. I do know part of it is my fault for not asking if specific earrings had a different price point, but I also feel it should be a little more transparent up front! I did just get them this week, so I can't attest to the healing process yet. It did hurt to see one earring cost me $130. If they heal well then I am extremely happy to have had such a good experience. read more

IN MY OPINION DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE I booked my appointment for free piercing wednesdays which waived the $15 piercing fee. For two jewelry flatbacks and a small can of neil med saline spray, my total came out to $235. After doing more research, in my opinion, i would suggest and encourage you to NOT go here! This place has allegations of using aliexpress jewelry, their jewelry not being properly sanitized (in my experience, the piercer pulled the jewelry out of a drawer then opened the sterile package- it was not put in a sterilization machine), and there is no proper info on what their jewelry is made of or where they get it. I had a conch and tragus piercing here years ago. Both healed well, but the placement of the tragus is terrible and when I tried to tell the piercer to correct it while there, she said she had no other option to place it but where she had marked (it's at the very edge of my tragus-which is sometimes a hazard for tearing me). Also all the jewelry is low quality aliexpress/shein. 2 stars for piercings that healed I guess. read more

After reviewing other customer feedback, I am quite disappointed with my recent experience. I had anticipated a higher standard of customer service; however, that expectation was not met. I paid $102.13 for a single flatback earring that does not fit properly on my tragus. The bar is excessively long, making it uncomfortable and highly noticeable. I contacted the business within 24 hours to address the issue, but was informed that the length is intentional for healing purposes. Given that my tragus piercing is over seven years old, this explanation is not applicable to my situation. This detail should have been clearly communicated at the time of purchase, particularly considering the price. More personalized guidance based on individual circumstances would have been greatly appreciated. I was also advised that there are no options for exchange or adjustment once the earring has been used, which was disappointing, especially since I raised the concern promptly. Based on additional reviews, it appears that customer service and overall satisfaction may not be a primary focus. Improved communication and a more responsive approach to customer concerns would significantly enhance the experience. Extremely disappointing experience. We bought two permanent bracelets from Burdlife with the promise that if one was lost or broken, it would be replaced. When one broke, we went in expecting them to honor that--but they completely denied ever offering replacements. They claimed the account they created for us didn't exist and made the process unnecessarily difficult. Customer service was poor throughout, and the manager was especially rude and unhelpful. Terrible experience with scam-like practices. When I bought my bracelet, I was told it would be replaced for free if lost or broken, as it was tied to my account. When it was lost, they refused to replace it unless I found it. After I did, they reattached it twice--both times incorrectly, with bent and messed-up links. Only after I complained did they finally agree to replace the chain. They went back on their original policy and made it seem like I misunderstood, claiming they only replace broken chains brought into the store. Completely unprofessional and dishonest. Such a cute store! The girl that helped us was super nice. We stopped by on a Tuesday around 5 PM and it wasn't busy. It was super quick & easy, a fun stop that I made with my sister & cousins. It is on the pricier end, just a heads up. I do wish they had a larger selection for the permanent bracelets as there's only 5 different bracelet options to choose from. I went here to get a permanent bracelet moved from one wrist to the other. I didn't get my bracelet here, but out of state. The staff was friendly, but that same night my bracelet came off. I went back to have it put back on. A few weeks later, the bracelet came off again. Wouldn't recommend for permanent jewelry. I went to Pink Swan to have it put on for a 3rd time and they actually took their time making sure it passed the tug test and all. Won't be coming back to Burdlife. read more

We've chatted about it for a while and wanted it to feel like an experience that we could reflect on for years to come! We did it! As we walked into the soft pink, beautiful space with Taylor Swift and Kasey Musgrave tunes creating the perfect vibe... we immediately smiled!! We each ended up getting 1-2 additional ear piercings and love them!! The piercing itself was so gentle, extremely hygienic, and easy peasy overall. I purchased an anklet here with my bestfriend in June. A few weeks after it fell off and I was unable to find the item. I contacted the store to explain the situation and see if there was anything that could be done to replace the item and they were able to assist me with getting a new anklet at no additional charge. (The clasp on the previous one was not closed and fell off for both myself and my friend- who got hers closed in another city.) I was very appreciative of this gesture as they did not have to replace it, and were very friendly while I visited to have the new one replaced, which I've had no issues with going on six months. Paid a lot of money for jewelry that I was assured would last, was high quality etc. Jewels fell out within a month, lost all color in two months, even with taking care of it/not wearing in shower. Previously had my ears pierced here and the jewelry for my helix piercing broke and fell off within a few hours. It's unfortunate considering the cost of the jewelry. As for the permanent jewelry, I've had friends purchase them and they've tarnished or broken. So I was holding off on writing this review because I wanted to see if swapping out my earring fixed the issues I was having but it did not. I had my cartilage pierced at Burdlife back in late October/November of 2022 and within 2/3 months the earring was tarnished. I called to see how and with what it could be cleaned with because the single earring was $145! For $145 I expect my earring to look good for longer than 2/3 months! Fast forward and I went into the store where they tried to say the earring may be of "bad quality" whatever that means!?! They finally agreed to replace it but offered me earrings options of lesser value. They finally found my exact opal Teddy and put it in. Within 2 months the same thing happened to the second one. I am really disappointed in the product quality of the earring especially for the cost. I would definitely recommend purchasing your jewelry elsewhere. Horrible experience! I've shopped here multiple times and every time one gotten something done here the product has either tarnished or something has broken off. I don't want to keep traveling to get something fixed if it claims to be permanent. Also every time I did shop in store they would offer me 10% off my purchase if I left a review even when coming to get something exchanged. Seems like it's a way to increase the ratings but if you keep scrolling you'll see the truth about the business. The staff was nice, but the manager, was a bit pushy about it. When I asked if the employees got commission for reviews, I was told no, but the person with the most reviews gets a prize. After checking older reviews, I noticed they were much worse, which feels like a tactic to boost their ratings. Save your money!! Jewelry is FALSELY marketed and tarnishes within a month. I really wanted to love this place given the cute aesthetic and jewelry pieces. The biggest red flag should have been the too good to be true prices for 18k gold filled jewelry. I bought a pair of earrings from here a month ago and was told and listed online that the earrings were 18k gold filled. FALSE. Within a month of having the earrings, they tarnished to black, which revealed the FAKE gold covering and the brass fill. Their jewelry is of poor quality and what really makes me mad is the false advertising, which is pretty illegal. Never buying from this store again. I will personally give you other recommendations in Houston for "forever" jewelers that is not only quality but affordable. Nina Berenato Bracelet Bar - Houston Being one of them, will add more at the end. April 9th 2022 my husband and I both got matching "Forever" bracelets, the machine was not there to attach it but they still charged us full price for the bracelets, that night mine fell off. I go in the next morning to have it put back on (the machine was back in the store to securely put on my wrist now it is officially "forever" I was told by the blonde that helped me in the store). I didn't pay any fee or was told there was a fee for it falling off, she said if it ever falls off again come back in someone will put it back on, no worries. June 20th 2022 my bracelet falls off as I was getting dressed just fell on the floor, I take it in and the owner Natasha said the bracelet didn't look good, so she gave me a new one, reattached it with the machine and told me to come back if it ever falls off and I must of did something because this never happens. Well I would've believed her *it was just my bad luck IF my husbands bracelet didn't break off two days later. Ok we both have our bracelets put back on, my husbands was the same and mine was a new chain, both with the machine to secure it. I go in august 15th 2022 to have my bracelet put back on at this point I just want my money back, I went in calm yet a little annoyed a girl with long hair asked if I needed help and I look and say my bracelet has fallen off for the THIRD (3) time! She looks over at Natasha by the machine and gives her a look she clears the counter for me to sit and asks how it fell off I said I was doing dishes and it fell in the sink I did nothing. I have a 5 year old and a 11 month old with me and my husband in the store at this time, she began to blame my innocent children! "Oh the baby must of been pulling at it and you never noticed" I had my bracelet on tight so there was no slack for my child to pull on it, even if he did try to pull on it you really think with it falling off twice before this I would've let him??? I had to take time out of my life and my childrens life to come to the store out of my way 3 times. It gets better. As she was blaming my child, my husband left the store because he saw me arguing with her. She began to give me an attitude when i disagreed with what she said, and I said I just want my money back she said I can attach it this last time and that's it I said ok just put it back on I guess, Then she goes to put the broken one on with another clasp, so now my bracket would have to circle clasps. Ugh no that's not the look I want nor paid for, I asked nicely "Aren't you going to give me a new one" obviously she would keep the broken one like last time. She said no why would I do that, I began to tell her that's what you did for me the last time it broke and she began to call me a liar -indirectly- "Why would I do that I can't be giving out a bracelet every time yours breaks if you want a new one you have to pay" SHE IS THE ONE THAT GAVE ME THE NEW BRACELET LAST TIME. FALSE ADVERTISING! I went to this place about 2 months ago and purchased 18k gold hoops, the price was about $65-$70 if I remember correctly and I thought well they pull be filled because they were so tiny like 1cm! I asked the sales lady and she said yes that they were gold through and through and I have worked at Kendra Scott, a fashion/fine jewelry place before so I know that there is fashion which can be coated and fine jewelry which is filled all the way. I asked the lady if she was positive because they would be for my baby girl (6months) and she gets a bad reaction if it's not full gold or sterling silver. Anyways I guess she just wanted to make the sale but it cost my daughter a bad reaction. Lesson learned. Buy your jewelry elsewhere or atleast someplace that knows their products. read more

It really annoys me I even have to take the time out of my busy day to write this, but buckle because I have loads to say. I went here to get pierced rather than my normal tattoo/piercing shop because I had won a giveaway. When I went for my free piercing + jewelry I specifically asked if I could do my triples rather than a single cartilage piercing, to which the owner told me yes. This led to me getting a pair of earrings that were less than 1/2 the price of any of their flatback earrings (which are required for any cartilage piercing). I was thinking it was good for them, cheaper items to giveaway & better for me (quick and easy ear lobes which should heal easy & be nearly impossible to mess up...) I thought that meant that my doubles would be free of charge. SO imagine how disappointed I was when I was done & charged for one of my ears & the cost of 1 earring out of the pair. However, I take full ownership for that... I should have clarified and been more specific beforehand. Yet, I do think she knew what I was asking, I will give her benefit of the doubt though. Now for the actual bad stuff. My doubles were not "quick and easy", they didn't and still have not "healed easy". As a matter of fact, they haven't healed at all. My earring are entirely uneven. So much that its noticeable from a distance. The holes also aren't straight. Not either of them. The earring posts quickly tarnished and the earring backs turned BLACK! My ears were not healing & the back was digging into one side of the back of my right ear. Not only was my hole an open wound, but also a wound was forming from where the back was digging in as well. Eventually I had to go back to show her what was happening. When she saw the earring backs she told me that they were not the ones she sold me.....EXCUSE ME WHAT? LOL. Like yeah you're right I actually replaced them with shitty quality backs so I could infect my ears and keep them from healing....(sarcasm obviously) BUT SERIOUSLY? Not an "I'm sorry", not an offer to replace them...nothing except her trying to place blame on me. She then went to say I had to have been sleeping on it, to which I told her I had continued to sleep with a neck pillow (as she suggested) for the past 3 MONTHS. To which she said it simply could not be the truth. She then mentioned that I must not have been cleaning them, to which I told her I had been doing so twice a day since I got them pierced. She never took any ownership. She did not offer any compensation. Absolutely ridiculous. I should have never given her my business again but I was fed up and chose to get some hoops to replace the studs with, in hopes that since there was no back to dig in that my ear would heal. Once I bought my new hoops I put them in when I got to my car...While looking at the original studs I realized the right earring post was bent and must have been that way since before it was ever put into my ear. Also after weeks of wearing the hoops the posts once again were tarnished AND my ear was swollen and inflamed as ever...if not more than before. Basically the point I am getting to is that these earrings she is selling are not piercing grade quality whatsoever AND once you realize that the owner will place blame on you and offer nothing to make the situation right. She will just call you a liar in the middle of the store and try to gaslight you. Really sad tbh. My ear has still yet to heal. I went to my usual piercing shop 713 Tattoo Parlour (SHAMELESS PLUG, if you are looking for the best quality piercings and experience this is the place to go!!!) and they told me that I was clearly allergic to the jewelry. They said it was bad quality and not up to standards, they would never sell anything of the sorts there. I purchased new studs from them that are gorgeous and Karen (another SHAMELESS PLUS, she is a sweetheart and I love her) replaced my earrings for me. She sized my posts and she taught me how to properly care for them as well. Please do not give Burdlife your business until they learn how to do right by their clients. As both a piercing client & just a jewelry purchasing client, I have been disappointed in both avenues. Even then I probably wouldn't chance shopping with them again. I have spend $100's with them and they did nothing for a great customer. Anyhow. It left a bad taste in my mouth and now that I have shared here I feel a lot better. I got some permanent jewelry in January from Forth & Nomad for $40 (it's still on by the way and I CrossFit 5x a week) anyway I should've read the reviews but since I only paid $40 for my first one I assumed it couldn't be any more but I was wrong. For a simple chain it was $110. There wasn't any signage of how much the permanent jewelry would cost instead they give you a heart attack at the register. This is the "apology" I received from the owner: Hey Jessica, thank you for sharing this. A couple of things. You ear is not infected. This is your first piercing you got as an adult and came back to change it under 5 days. You have to let it heal and follow the steps we told you to. I saw the earrings still had movement so it wasn't tight. I think you are just not used to wearing earrings and that is okay as it's your first time. But you have to trust the process. You can not change out your piercings before 8 - 12 weeks. That's when you'll start have irritation. And we can not give out free jewelry especially when we know all you need to do is give the healing time. We have been doing this for long and know what we are talking about. If you google what infected ears look like you'll be shocked. Your's is JUST A FRESH PIERCING and NOT INFECTED at all. I'm sorry your experience wasn't great, but sometimes you just have to trust the process and follow simple steps like saline water, not sleeping on your sides and just letting it heal.
