I'm not sure I've ever gotten so lucky as to stumble upon Silverlust when looking for a repair job on my signet ring. It had been poorly resized but a different jeweler and it was too fragile for me to safely wear, so I brought it into Silverlust and had them take a look. They suggested to just re-shank the whole ring to make it strong and wearable. The price was fair, the work was done quickly, and when I picked it up, I was absolutely delighted with the quality of work. While I was picking up my repaired ring, I took a look around the shop and ended up ordering a gorgeous cameo mounted on a split-shank band. Herschel took his time showing me a couple things he thought I would like and had lots of knowledge about each piece on the case. After looking at a couple things, he suggested the combo I ended up selecting to be made--it was that easy! Well...mixed feelings. After searching Yelp for a jewelry repair store with high ratings, I decided to give Silverlust a try. The store is fairly small with lots of necklaces and rings for sale. The store is very clean and there is some parking out front. I dropped off two thin necklaces with broken chains for repair. They quoted me $35 total ($30 to solder one and $5 to repair a broken link on the other), took my phone number and give me a paper ticket as receipt. Repairs were estimated to take a couple of days and they said they would call when the work was complete - great. About 12 days later, no call so I decided to call them. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and confirmed that the repairs were already finished and apologized for not having called. Ok, whatever. I go in to pick them up and both necklaces look great. They charge me $40 instead but I let it go. Again, whatever. Finally I get home and go to take the necklaces out of the bags. The moment I take the first one out...it brakes (insert crying emoji). Luckily I was able to work some magic myself with tweezers but definitely a complete waste of money on that one. I had a special project that I needed help with and Erik at Silverlust online did an exceptional job. I needed a second sterling silver band placed onto the bottom of a 125 year old quadruple nickel plated trim-handled antique cup that was gifted to a group I am involved with. I took it to several different places and no one could help me with it. Erik took a special interest in the project and the history of the cup and he brought a very refreshing "can do" attitude to the equation. Erik helped me come up with a good solution and then he put it all together for me in plenty of time to meet my deadline. The craftsmanship (the silversmithing and the hand engraving) is outstanding and I am just delighted with how it came out. The band that Erik added is the slimmer of the two bands on the bottom of the base. I cannot recommend Erik and Silverlust more wholeheartedly. I'm glad I chose Silver Lust to repair my bracelet. My friend accidentally cut my bracelet open (it's a dainty gold chain) when she was trying to cut off a concert wristband lol. I could've taken it to the original designer but they quoted me an outrageous price to literally add and soldier a link. Being such a delicate chain, they quoted me $30 for the repair. I decided to go with it and it took a week for the finished product. They did a great job and the added link is undetectable in appearance compared to the rest of the chain. Amazing! So professional and quick! I had a signet ring made with family gold that I wanted to wear but didn't suit my style--it was too bulky, the block letter engraving wasn't great, etc. Instead of melting down the whole thing, we arranged for the ring to be shaved down and re-engraved, saving money and time. A week later I picked it up, and wore it for another week before I finally decided it was still a little *too bulky (parents agreed) but when I took it back, Silverlust tapered the band within the day!
