I've thought about this review for several days now. I was not going to leave a review at all. I had decided to just take my business elsewhere, mainly because I learned from a seasoned salesperson years ago that some salesmen will try to take advantage of a customer's experience or lack there of, and it's up to the customer to do their due diligence in educating themselves about the items they are looking to buy. Due to my wife's and I profession we are both very astute listeners, so when the salesman spoke to us about the tennis necklaces we were interested in buying he told us not once but twice that he had pulled a larger necklace, (meaning the total karat weight was more than what we had originally requested), from his inventory that was slightly higher than the price range we had previously stated. My wife, being the woman that she is immediately wanted to see the larger more costly necklace, to which our salesperson happily removed the necklace from its bag and showed my wife. The Jeweler did not have his overhead light on, so I requested that he turn it on. Upon turning the light on, the flaws in the diamonds leapt out, they were very cloudy and lacked the brilliance that we had come to expect after looking at diamonds at various locations over the last couple months. We pointed out our concerns and ask how can the necklace be more expensive when the quality of the diamonds are obviously less. He then responded, oh no this one is less than the cost of the other necklaces. The Jeweler then picked up a second necklace and said this one is the more expensive necklace. He then handed the necklace to my wife and told her that the cost would be just over 10k ( which is what we told him our budget was). The necklace had a hand written tag on it that explained the total weight and cost. My wife looked at the tag and asked the jeweler if he was sure about the price, to which he said yes he was. She then responded, oh ok cause the tag says 8k, an awkward silence filled the room. The jeweler then said "oh the cost of gold has gone up."There was also another incident that occurred on the same day that I didn't feel like putting in this review. The bottom line is this..... We have both worked our entire adult lives so that we can get to a point where we can afford to do nice things for ourselves. It's very disheartening when you encounter people who appear to be less than honest in their dealings. I don't doubt that had he shown us a necklace that he would be proud to sell to his friends or family he would've gotten the sell and gained loyal customers.
