My ring that I received as a gift from my mother years ago was the item requiring repair. They replaced my cubic zirconia stones, reshaped and resized the band. Price was EXTREMELY reasonable including a pair of sterling silver cubic zirconia earrings. Herschel was kind enough to offer to help me put them on because I had thought my earring holes have closed since I haven't worn earrings in a long period of time. My fiance and I were looking for a place to have an emerald ring of his grandmother's reset into an engagement ring. After a string of disappointments and insanely high quotes for a custom ring, we ran across Silverlust. Herschel went above and beyond. I showed him a design that I liked (which more than one other jeweler had told me would be impossible with the stones we already had) and he sketched it out for us right then. Herschel and his staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were eager to help me design the ring of my dreams. I can't even begin to explain the sense of relief I had talking to Herschel after being told, multiple times by other jewelers, that what I wanted was wrong, or that I would regret not getting a more "traditional" ring. Not once did he question me or try to convince me to go a different route. He was patient with us and answered every one of our questions. Impeccable Customer Service and standout quality jewelry cleaning service. As long as in living in Houston I will be sure to take this my fine jewelry here. I received my A&M ring a few years ago and didn't do a great job cleaning it, OK I never had it cleaned. It became very dull and inhabited what looked like black grime in between all the tiny details. I purchased my own gold cleaner on Amazon and that did nothing. I decided it was time to take it to a jeweler who know what they were doing. So I brought my ring here and to my surprise they offered to give it a quick clean for free! Although my ring did appear a little shinier it still was displayed black dirt in the cracks that really bothered me. After expressing my concern, the kind gentlemen behind the counter (wish I got his name, brown hair & beard) told me that he could try a more extensive clean that would take an hour or so that just might do the trick. I left my ring there and a few hours later I picked it up and was AMAZED. My ring is so much cleaner, shinier, and the gold tone was restored that I'd been missing so much. I saw the glowing yelp reviews but was a little apprehensive as I was using them for the first time and it was a important gift. The staff is friendly and professional and I am very happy with the font and the look of the finished product. The woman I initially spoke to was patient and thorough when I described what I wanted. There was an issue putting the engraving in just the right spot due to size/shape of the object and the location had to be adjusted slightly, they explained this and offered to cut a bit off the price due to this, I can deal with that. Where do I start? My mom passed away and dad just tossed a lot of her jewelry together and it sat for a while before I was ready to go through it all. LOVE this place!! My wife and I went to Robbins Brothers to get our engagement ring. They called me halfway through my layaway payments and told me they were trashing their layaway program so I had to pay up, apply for their 'anyone's approved credit' or hit the road. I hit the road. My wife's Father had been buying his wife jewelery here for years so we checked it out. We were already tired of the corporate jewelry stores so this place was a breath of fresh air. I've never actually been in this place before but I was glad we went. Herschel (good people) made us an engagement ring from the picture we had. It ended up looking better than the original. I tried this place to remove some links from my new watch a couple weeks ago. They were very personable and offered reasonable pricing. Apparently my watch was a little harder to take apart than expected since it was new, and the screws were very small and tight. Instead of ruining my watch and bending the screws, they notified me that they needed to wait for their watch expert to come in, and he would take care of it. It was more than I thought it would be. Not their fault - I didn't ask, so I probably had unreasonable expectations. But THEN they called me a few days after I picked up the necklace and told me they had charged me too much! It was a busy day at work, so I didn't get to pick up the call, and someone called me 2 or 3 times just to make sure I got the message. How classy is that?! When I picked up the refund check, I mentioned how nice it was to have a business go to such lengths to refund a customer some money, and the owner said that he couldn't keep it in good conscience. Silverlust have always been wonderful to work with as far as repairs go. However, I visited with them looking for my husbands wedding ring and I couldn't quite see my vision in the display. Erik was amazing as always and suggested we make the ring from scratch. After discussing my vision, Erik got straight on the phone to find and price the gold I needed, the plan was in place. I settled on incorporating a stone I already had into the design, and somehow with my elaborate descriptions and grand flowery ridiculous statements of what I envisioned this ring to be, Erik got to work. I am stunned and so emotional at how he managed to capture those words and turn it into the perfect ring for my wedding day and my marriage.
