Lobster Dinner
Colleen A.

I hope that this restaurant gets better as they get settled into their new location because I wasn't impressed. First off, the location on my GPS led us to the original location and then we went to the new one. When we got there the restaurant was kinda dark as though they didn't have lighting. I honestly would have thought they had only been in the new location for a week a two, not 3 months. Their menu said they had alcohol but the waitress informed us they were waiting for the license to transfer over. Our food was OK, I've had better. My husband had the fisherman's basket and I had the lobster. I had picked this restaurant because it was advertised as having a kods menu but they didn't. I would say the food all came out hot, but that was the biggest highlight.

Here's the Scoop! Went here first and outdoor eating experience and a good plate of food. Yessss! I got both. There's a cute outdoor seating area. The service is friendly and quick. The food plentiful. I ordered the seafood platter with a sweet tea delish! I enjoyed my food, the outdoor seating and my honey. We will definitely return. Nice menu choices, reasonable prices and portions. Filling!! You can also purchase fresh uncooked seafood.

Menu and market board

As they say, we had a hankering for a fried fish sandwich, and Buoy 1 looked like the place. Due to the lack of website or online menus, we went in a little blind. You have to know that it started as fish market and then the dining option became the main attraction. My wife and I decided to try the Fisherman's Basket and the Seafood Basket. Both were what we expected, with highs and lows. I did order the Manhattan Clam chowder and was surprised how good and tasty it was. The shrimp, calalmari , and claim strips were excellent. Tasty and the right amount of crispy and light batter. The fried fish, while plenty of it, was a bit to soft and without texture. The bay scallops lacked any real taste, which we interpreted as being imported and not local in any way, But between the 2 baskets, the french fries and onion rings were good, and we had enough left over for another meal at home. Granted it was about 33 degrees outside. Service was very friendly but very slow. We did not appreciate that we ended up paying $16 for our initial 2 sodas and then full charge on the refills. All in all, it balanced out at about a 3 star to 3 1/2. We would go again, hopefully when it's warmer! There was a sign that they will be moving soon,

10/4/23 Getting ready to head out of town we decided to have our favorite Thai cod at Buoy One. Tonya met us at the door and knew exactly what we wanted to eat. The fish is always fresh and the Thai glaze is terrific. Thank you Tonya and thank you Buoy One!

Nautical Cucumber

Had family dinner (party of 8) here while on vacation tonight. It was great! Got an assortment of appetizers: Calamari, Stuffed Oysters, and Thai Glazed Chicken. All so delicious! I personally had the Thai Glazed cod for dinner, with a side of spinach...so good! For dinner, our party ordered the Sesame Chicken Fingers, Horseradish Crusted Tuna, Soups, Lobster Meals, Cheeseburger, you name it. All great! And sizable portions. Let's just say nobody left hungry. For drinks, I tried the Nautical cucumber gin drink, which was super refreshing, and for the next round, I had a Blue Hen IPA. The server was great and very attentive. You can't go wrong eating here!

Outdoor seating

Had a lovely experience enjoying an early dinner at Buoy One. Our server, Clare, was really considerate in seating us outside & out of the sun's glare. After a quick review of the specials & menu...we settled on a 1/2 pitcher of Blueberry Margaritas & another of Peach Sangria. Both arrived with 7-8 minutes or so & were made fresh. They were both refreshing & not too sweet (my concern always) at all! We ordered the lobster bake (whole steamed 1 1/4lb lobster, shrimp, clams & mussels) and the Cod & Shrimp burger. We were served within 20 minutes by Clare. The lobster was slightly overdone but delicious nonetheless, the accompanying shellfish were very tasty too. We both substituted our potatoes for freshly made onion rings which turned out to be a great choice! We'll be returning & highly recommend you visit if you're in the neighborhood.

Buoy One Seafood Basket

Solid seafood spot! Tried the oyster basket and the seafood basket. The seafood basket was much more substantial but both were filling and I still had leftovers. Fair prices too. Service was a tad slow but otherwise good and our waitress was nice.

Once we got there; with our luck, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a few mins because their system was down. Which is understandable. As we wait, the couple after us had made reservations for 2 and their table was ready. First impressions matter to me and there is no reason for inconsistency when it comes to reservations. Finally, after a few more mins, they found us a table. Once we sat, and we ordered some water, they decided to moves us again to another table. Now im bothered but I didn't want that to ruin my night. The waitress took our order for drinks and food. The whisky sour was ok and our wait for food began. The couple next to us had their appetizers and main entrees served before we even got our appetizers. I understand it may have been busy, but everyone around was getting there food quicker, lack of attention. We finally got our entrees and the dishes were ok. My duck was cooked perfectly but my wife's dish lacked some flavor. She had to be careful because the fish had fish bones and we had thought they had taken those out. As we waited for the food I noticed that the owner was walking around and greeting the customers and finding out how the food was. I believe that every owner should follow this man's footsteps because he was very attentive to all and I feel that he turned our experience around for the better. Once we finished, he asked us about the food and what brought us there. Conversation with him was great and easy. We mentioned to him that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and he surprised us with a dessert and coffee. This dessert was incredible and his sweet gesture made the experience so much better. I hope to return one day and give them another chance. I would say try this restaurant and make sure you make reservations because the restaurant is always full.

The memories made there--and the children who grew up with this beloved seaside fixture as part of their lives--are truly impossible to quantify. Fortunately for all of us, Little Creek Oysters embarked on a new home that allowed them to continue their vision while expanding it in exciting ways. Today, guests can enjoy the experience across two floors, plus an inviting outdoor patio complete with fire pits, good company, and the unmistakable charm that made Little Creek special from the very beginning. Interior is nice with lovely arranged flowers on the Piano and the tables setup was fine for the special 30th business event that I went to. 2 workers/ I found very kind and supportive. Christopher was at my side checking to see that I had each thing I needed. The other young lady at the bar area in the front, lent me paper and pen to write up a draft before entering it into the event Guest Book. The setup of tables was sufficent and there were window sill spots to place various gifts that people brought. As for the food at this given event, it was a buffet style with a big range of different things to eat with small cups of butter on the table for bread. I supspect the chef and kitchen people like to add a lot of salt to their foods. As I myself do like salt, it was ok. The dessert, (my favorite part) was very fresh and tasty especially that chocolate cake. While I only had the one piece of it, I could easily have eatten more. Oddly; my coffee cup had what I want to say is, bubbles in it. Like when oil and water don't mix. It tasted ok so I guess it was not soap. The other thing I noticed is that the waiters were -TOO MUCH- "Johnny on the spot". They took my small plate as soon as I was done and when they came around with more appertizers, I used my napkin for the small lamp chops. I was also glad there were toothpicks at the front entrance as every stick was also quickly removed! Though I know that is their job to do so, and only because I had been there once before I had noticed them and was able to go and get one. So, todays review of the Lakehouse is 3 stars.

Restaurant That Feels Like Family…read more My family and friends always visit this restaurant at least two or three times a year when we travel to the East End of Long Island, and every visit is a pleasure. This time, we ordered the Red Rooster salad, the Shopska salad, and the beet salad. For our main courses, we enjoyed the Chicken Valdostana and their signature dish, Maple Leaf Farms Duck. What makes this restaurant truly special is not only the food but also the warmth and hospitality of the family who runs it. The owner has Bulgarian-American heritage, and his wife and son, Christopher, always make us feel welcome. Christopher deserves special recognition. Whether he is working behind the bar as a bartender or serving guests as a waiter, he always takes the time to talk with us. We genuinely enjoy our conversations with him, and his friendly, personal approach makes every visit feel special. The hospitality is sincere, and we never feel like just another customer. Instead, we feel as though we are visiting friends and are welcomed as part of their family. It is rare to find a restaurant where the people make you feel so comfortable and at home. This family creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps us coming back year after year.
