If you have to ask who made the better choice, you can stop reading. The hot lobster roll was just as excellent as it always is. I like that it is deconstructed so that a) the bun isn't soggy and b) I can put exactly the amount of butter I like on it. My kids love it here, and so do I. Service is tight, and the patio and deck areas overlooking the water are delightful in the summer. I've always liked the vibe here - great food in a casual and family-friendly atmosphere. By far and away the worst I've experienced. I took away a star for this reason. The new spot aesthetically is just okay. Our food was delicious but the wait time for the meals and drinks was insufferable. BTW, the wait time for the check was equally as painful. To the owners, get your (you know what) together and figure this out. You will not succeed unless immediate improvements are made.

We ordered fried calamari as appetizers and a zuppa di pesce - while zuppa is translated as soup in English, the dish is closer to what may be considered a fish stew. In addition to the fried calamari we also ordered a large salad that we split. Cova is a unique restaurant that serves dinner in a family-style format. This means that the entrees are designed to be shared between two or four people. While the food is excellent, for a hungry person, the amount per serving is not worth the price. Unfortunately, the cappuccino maker was not in service, so I ordered a regular cup of decaffeinated coffee. Regrettably, the coffee was not to my liking. The Takeaways: 1. The food is very tasty. 2. The coffee is not good. 3. The price to portion ration is poor. 4. Parking is ample. 5. Make reservations.

Once we got there; with our luck, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a few mins because their system was down. Which is understandable. As we wait, the couple after us had made reservations for 2 and their table was ready. First impressions matter to me and there is no reason for inconsistency when it comes to reservations. Finally, after a few more mins, they found us a table. Once we sat, and we ordered some water, they decided to moves us again to another table. Now im bothered but I didn't want that to ruin my night. The waitress took our order for drinks and food. The whisky sour was ok and our wait for food began. The couple next to us had their appetizers and main entrees served before we even got our appetizers. I understand it may have been busy, but everyone around was getting there food quicker, lack of attention. We finally got our entrees and the dishes were ok. My duck was cooked perfectly but my wife's dish lacked some flavor. She had to be careful because the fish had fish bones and we had thought they had taken those out. As we waited for the food I noticed that the owner was walking around and greeting the customers and finding out how the food was. I believe that every owner should follow this man's footsteps because he was very attentive to all and I feel that he turned our experience around for the better. Once we finished, he asked us about the food and what brought us there. Conversation with him was great and easy. We mentioned to him that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and he surprised us with a dessert and coffee. This dessert was incredible and his sweet gesture made the experience so much better. I hope to return one day and give them another chance. I would say try this restaurant and make sure you make reservations because the restaurant is always full.

Interior is nice with lovely arranged flowers on the Piano and the tables setup was fine for the special 30th business event that I went to. 2 workers/ I found very kind and supportive. Christopher was at my side checking to see that I had each thing I needed. The other young lady at the bar area in the front, lent me paper and pen to write up a draft before entering it into the event Guest Book. The setup of tables was sufficent and there were window sill spots to place various gifts that people brought. As for the food at this given event, it was a buffet style with a big range of different things to eat with small cups of butter on the table for bread. I supspect the chef and kitchen people like to add a lot of salt to their foods. As I myself do like salt, it was ok. The dessert, (my favorite part) was very fresh and tasty especially that chocolate cake. While I only had the one piece of it, I could easily have eatten more. Oddly; my coffee cup had what I want to say is, bubbles in it. Like when oil and water don't mix. It tasted ok so I guess it was not soap. The other thing I noticed is that the waiters were -TOO MUCH- "Johnny on the spot". They took my small plate as soon as I was done and when they came around with more appertizers, I used my napkin for the small lamp chops. I was also glad there were toothpicks at the front entrance as every stick was also quickly removed! Though I know that is their job to do so, and only because I had been there once before I had noticed them and was able to go and get one. So, todays review of the Lakehouse is 3 stars.

The Duck portion was massive and succulent, although it was definitely an ordeal to extract all the meat. The place was packed and bustling, with live music in the front bar area and a more relaxed dining room in the back overlooking the water. Great atmosphere all around, and our waitress was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and on top of everything despite how busy it was. The menu was surprisingly affordable, with most entrées in the $30-$40 range. We started with the lobster bisque, which was delicious--rich, creamy, and loaded with chunks of lobster. I had the broiled seafood platter with scallops, shrimp, fish, rice, and broccoli. Everything was fresh and tasty. Friends raved about the scallop risotto, and the cod was another hit. The chicken parm was just okay, maybe a little dry, but hey, you're at a seafood restaurant!
