A bit off their game my past 3 experiences. Caesar Salad drenched in dressing. The Green Goddess dressing seemed tart & not made by the standard recipe. Was not informed that a key ingredient would be missing off pizza until it was ready. Would have ordered something else if had not waited for it to cook. Well, I sincerely hope nobody has this happen to them! We had high expectations and we left with empty pockets and gastrointestinal distress! From the kids in the restaurant playing and giggling, not customers but friends of theirs, to the condition of the booth we sat at I am amazed they are still in business. The hamburgers were warmed over and sadly dry. The limpest fries I have ever witnessed. They could have stood about two more minutes in the fryer. Have you ever seen French fries out of the microwave? True waste of a potato. My wife's hamburger was mushroom Swiss with horseradish aioli, they forgot the horseradish, probably a shortage there I will assume. Her pasta salad had promise but it was strangely bland. There was a hint of something and I was unable to determine the source. Having worked fast food in both our pasts we will say please clean the drink nozzles every day. Let's run the numbers. Fourth dollars later and I can only say if the place is busy then maybe you have a chance at fresher food and maybe better cooks. Off peak times might not be a premium decision. We were saddened by the experience and left thinking what will move into this location next. If you even care to ask "Why didn't you complain to the manager?" Well, it seemed like another poor decision and we were ready to close this chapter and move on. We've spent the last few weeks in the FL panhandle and tried Hernando as our half-way-home overnight. Yelp reviews brought us to Buon Cibo for dinner. This may have been our best meal out in 5 weeks! We split a small smoked brisket pizza and a spicy guac burger/fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. My husband, who douses everything w/hot sauce & black pepper, added nothing to any part of our order! We've lived in Hernando for the last (almost) four years, and this is our absolute favorite local restaurant. It's always a good night at the Morris house if we're going out to Buon Cibo or bringing it home. We love the Awesomesauce Burger, their ham and cheese sandwich with the jezebel sauce on the everythjng bagel is , and the soups are so delicious. I've been multiple times now with my co-workers and love trying new things. They've got burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and salads. They have a half salad half sandwich option which isn't advertised that well. I like the burgers, they are very thick and need some time to cook. This place has decent enough food I get what they are doing farm to table so more expensive but around $44 for 3 people to eat sandwiches is just too much in my opinion, especially when the food is good but nothing I would rush back for. The place is set up like Newks and same as Newks if I was in the area for lunch only eat at every once and while because most things on the menu are $12-$15...so if you want a little bit nicer lunch this is the place to go. I was kind of turned off this place because I saw the owner a while back write a bunch of stuff on Facebook about how he needed to add a 3% charge when you use a debit card due to his cost to keep all the ingredients fresh. I get its expensive but the whole post and signs posted in the restaurant in bright yellow to me are a total turn off...why not raise the price on a few menu items if we are already paying $44 for lunch what's a few more dollars and avoid the whole issue. I had the Cuban sandwich which was good fresh and crispy thinly toasted with the house chips and was all good. As I went to sit down I saw someone had fries and they looked great so sat my stuff down and walked back to register. I asked the teenage girl working the front (all teenage staff) if I could change my chips to fries they looked great. I was told it was restaurant policy not to sell fries to someone who had not bought a burger. Ok to me that is stupid to turn down a sale and there is a frie policy??? To me this is such a turn off when I go to a place and they will not make a substitution for something you want and will pay for or it's their policy to be honest and it's just me there is a good chance I will not be back to the place. read more

The food at Buon Cibo is very fresh and delicious. The burgers are amazing and have a variety of toppings. The ham and cheese sandwich was creamy and had a unique sauce. The coconut chicken noodle soup is the best soup I have had. The broth had coconut oil infused in it, making for a new take on chicken noodle soup. I will definitely be back to try more. read more

So, let's break it down... - Menu: basically sandwiches, pizza, and salads... with some tasty other items thrown in, along with daily specials... all very created and uniquely developed (favorites: cuban sandwich) - Food: excellent... they use (from what I understand) 100% locally sourced produce... which clearly takes just 'sandwiches and pizza' to a whole different level... a very tasty level... worth it... Great experience service was polite and food came out fairly fast for a busy lunch service. The burger (cheeseburger) was cooked perfect and tasty definitely one of my favorite burgers. The pizza (the Starkville) was good too I'm not a fan of arugula but with the balsamic it wasn't bad it complimented the rest of the pizza. The sandwich was good I am a fan of pesto but the chips were not very good half were burnt and the other half were not cooked completely due to them being stuck together. Sadly we could only eat a few of them and that's my only complaint. The meal was delicious and that burger was my favorite will definitely come back. read more

Two of my kids & I went here today during our "Hernando fun day." We loved it. My youngest had the kids ham & cheese w/ homemade chips. No cheese (allergic), but ham sandwich was good & chips were amazing. The homemade chips were perfect for all of our different tastes. Daughter & I split "grown up grilled cheese" & "bleu cibo salad." The grilled cheese would have been very good except the cheese was not evenly spaced around the sandwich & the bread was burned. We went with the cole slaw side. A little spicy in a very yummy way! This might be one of my favorite cole slaws now! The salad was amazing. We split the small, which was plenty! The homemade bleu dressing was very good. The balance of the sliced beef, bacon, fried onions & dressing were perfect! We chose the "southern tea" of course over the "unsouthern!" Kinda disappointed with my most recent visit, they have a limited number of options for sides with the sandwiches (chips, pasta salad, fruit) and they were out of chips last visit and I'm not a fan of the other 2 options. I really can't get enough of Buon Cibo! It's fine dining food in a casual atmosphere, and we hit it up every time we head up to visit the in-laws. It's great because they're not much for cooking at home, so BC gives us a great opportunity to get them eating healthy, locally sourced food over McD's or the Chicago-style pizza joint up the street. (Deep dish pizza is delish, but killer on the cholesterol!) Back to the food-- I haven't had anything here I haven't loved. The beer and cheddar soup? Way better than one might expect. The regular offerings on soup, coconut chicken noodle and tomato, are fantastic go-tos and I'm particularly fond of pairing the tomato up with the grown-up grilled cheese. To die for! Hubby usually goes for the Cuban, as does my father in law who has eaten his fair share in Miami and loves these. My mother in law, a notoriously picky eater (chicken teriyaki is considered exotic for her), likes the cobb salad and the blue cibo which are all solid salads. Don't think that sandwiches and soups are where it ends-- the pizzas always catch my eye and make it even harder to decide what I want! The Clarksdale is tangy and tasty (now I'm craving it...) with the Biloxi a close second, and the hubby scarfed down The Nesbit before I'd had so much as an inkling to grab a taste so now I shall wrestle over the choice between that one and The Cleveland next time! Basically, you can't go wrong at Buon Cibo. The prices are great and what you get for what you pay is amazing. If you don't go to Buon Cibo, you're cheating yourself out of one of the few restaurants in Memphis that I miss when I'm home in Atlanta. read more
