Paisan
Brian L.

Paisan means buddy or friend in a slang way like "what's up bro?" The sandwich was terrific. I'll definitely come back for that. The pizza is horrible though. Probably the worst I've ever had. I don't think it's Red Baron frozen pizza but it's very much like it. If they want to just be a deli that's fine. They should probably stay away from pizza.

Mi Paisan
Nicolas M.

Read the menu (took my time) and was impressed at their variety. Mi Paisan along with their Chicken Tortilla soup was a choice I did not regret, talk about a well balanced and utterly delicious meal combo. After finishing my meal I spent my time talking with the staff and learned more about the origins of this delightful establishment. As always, Eat Local & Support family owned businesses!

It's a comforting embrace on your dehydration from partying the night before. It's the gentle kiss of the sunlight on the first spring day. It's the caress of the lover that got away. Today I needed food to hit my soul. I've had a lot going on and sometimes it's hard to find that special dish that will make your day. This bowl gave me hope and vitality. The broth has a slightly sweet flavor that I personally really enjoy. Their salted lemonade is really fresh and refreshing, it's a must-order every time I visit! My only complaint is the portion size. The bowls are a bit small. As a female, I need to order a large to feel full. Most males may probably want to order an appetizer or another dish on the side. Service is pretty much the same as it was at the old Vietnamese Restaurant, minimal and not particularly attentive. Overall, the food keeps me coming back, especially the pho and salted lemonade. Four stars.

We spent our first night in the state in Memphis and were ready for some good Southern food. We had the ribs, barbecue, beans, sweet tea, and a cold beer--and everything hit the spot! The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the sweet tea was the perfect introduction to the South. The service was great, the wait was minimal, and our food came out so quickly it was almost like they were waiting for us to arrive! The atmosphere was lively with that great Memphis energy--a little loud, but not overwhelming. There was something special about sitting down to Memphis barbecue after driving all the way from California and realizing, "We made it to Tennessee!" The atmosphere was welcoming, lively, and full of great energy. I sat at the bar, and my bartender did not miss a beat. Even though I was dining alone, she continued to check on me throughout the evening and made sure I was well taken care of. I ordered the ribs dry with the sauce on the side, and they were absolutely delicious! They were packed with flavor and literally falling off the bone. The baked beans and turnip greens were also extremely good and definitely worth trying. Overall, I had a wonderful experience from the food to the atmosphere and service. I'm definitely glad I gave this spot a try, and I would absolutely recommend Blues City Cafe if you're looking for good barbecue and a great atmosphere!

The food was fine but our meal took forever because each person's food was delivered one person at a time, and so slowly that #1 was finished before #2 arrived. There were four of us. I don't know what was off, but it was not a good experience. The vibe wasn't bad, and the food was great. I think on a better night it could be a great place to go.

Went as soon as they opened up and was the only one sitting while others were ordering for pickup. I sat by the window inside but it does have a nice shaded outdoor patio area. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. She even answered my question about the Hattoek. As I was finishing my meal, she put my noodles on the to-go container since it can be tricky. I ordered the Fried Mandus, medium curry ramen (sub chicken for extra beef) & Hattoek. It's just as I remembered it. The curry sauce was yummy and the beef paired perfectly. Next time, I'll get extra veggies with it too. 1st time trying Hattoek and it was nice. The ice cream was a little nutty and donuts filled with warm cinnamon. My companion had the Bi-Bim Naengmyeon which she really liked. Both came in around $24 which I thought was very reasonable for the quality and price. There was only one server and she seemed overwhelmed. When we arrived, there were only two other tables that were occupied. However, the place filled up quickly after that so she was very busy. The crawfish dumplings were also solid, but the wings were the standout of the meal. We also tried the Bake MF Margarita, which I expected to taste like tea, but it's actually a refreshing peach-flavored margarita. At about $22, it's generously sized for two people and definitely worth trying. Our server, Mason, was very nice and made great selections for us. Overall, I'm giving Good Fortune Company (4/5). The only reason it wasn't a perfect score was the missing Slap Noodles. Even so, I'd happily return and hope to try them next time. Next time im ordering Ramen!
