We'll never use cardboard again after taking a chance on these. They deliver all the boxes to your house and pick them up when you're done. The boxes are all the same size, can be stacked, and don't collapse (like cardboard would) even when the whole stack is full of heavy books. There's no tape or really excessive packing material needed. If you have a small house consider ordering extra wheels so you can easily push the stacks out of your way as you pack/move around. Definitely do not order for less than two weeks--a one week turnaround time is far too stressful. They were always available via text; highly recommend. read more

I've used Bungo Box for two moves and they are excellent. The online portal makes it easy to book the boxes and the Bungo Box staff are very communicative, reaching out in advance to confirm the timing of delivery and pickup. The boxes come with labels and are a good size for packing. The wheels also make it easy to move them around. During my last move, I unexpectedly had to delay my move after I had already received the boxes and had packed up many of my belongings. Bungo Box was super flexible with me to extend the box rental even though I didn't know exactly how long I'd need to keep the boxes. Loved using these boxes for my move. Good volume for packing, they were easy to stack and transport, and all in good condition. I was worried about covid precautions but they assured me that they were cleaning boxes well and keeping them in the warehouse longer between rentals. Some boxes had a white residue inside that I hope was dried cleaning product. Delivery was easy and the staff members were all friendly. My pickup day needed to change bc of a truck malfunction, but they worked with my schedule. I would definitely use Bungo Boxes again (but hopefully I won't be moving again!). read more

Cool idea in theory but they need some serious management help. I moved a business trip around to be home for the box drop-off only for them to text me (texting is big with them) that they were closed the Saturday I requested and that they could only drop-off the next day (also a Saturday but a week early). Okay, I guess? But also, if you were closed the Saturday I requested then why was it on your calendar as a drop-off date? They weren't even flexible with the time window, so I changed plans and then they were hours late. On the pick-up end they also told me they couldn't pick up the day I requested (Saturday) and would have to pick up Monday instead. They were able to come between 6-9am on Monday or it would've been a bigger issue. read more

The customer service was great and they were very flexible ahead of time as I asked to add a week and change the drop off/pick up dates. We ordered a 3 bedroom combo for our 2 bedroom apartment (with a den and an office), and it was just the right size (our square footage was in the 3 bedroom range). When they dropped the boxes off, I had to help the worker carry everything up 3 flights of stairs, which was a laborious process but it would have taken him forever to do it himself. I would recommend counting your boxes as they were short 1 XL box and only after I notified him did he offer to give us 4 L boxes instead. He also didn't have the 100 zip ties I had purchased, but another employee called me later to schedule those being dropped off within a couple days. They don't mention it, but each box needs 2 zip ties. The boxes themselves were VERY sturdy, and made packing a breeze! My wife and I couldn't believe how quickly we got everything packed. The movers also loved them because it made loading the truck very easy since they did not need to worry about keeping fragile boxes on top, or fitting irregular sized boxes into the space. The labels they provided were awesome and removed easily from the boxes when we were done. The hand trucks had nice inflated wheels that were helpful when bringing 4 loaded boxes down the stairs. For pick up, I just left the boxes out on my porch in the morning and the worker had no problems getting them without me home. All in all, I will definitely plan on using them again when we move next. read more

I'll try to comment about things other than the super functionality of these boxes- I recently moved a one-bedroom apartment to another one-bedroom apartment in Rosslyn, and found this service online by searching for reusable moving boxes. I remembers using the same kind of boxes when moving cubicles at my old job and was really happy to find them for personal use. I had really good email communication with these folks. I inquired about shortening my reservation from two weeks to one week after the boxes arrived, and they were totally ok with that. I ended up not exercising this option but it was still good to know it was a possibility. Pickup and drop-off of these boxes were great and super convenient- they gave me a two-hour window in which they did show up. I ordered for a 3 bedroom for my large 2 bedroom (based on the size recommendations), and it was literally perfect down to the last box! The move went super fast too, saving me cash on moving fees, thanks to sturdy boxes that were all one size and closed securely. I love that I was unpacked in two days so I could have the boxes ready for pick up! What a motivator! Less than a week into my new home and I feel like I've been there for months! Bungo boxes made our move so much easier than it would have been otherwise. They stack up neatly so you're not falling over cardboard while you're trying to pack/unpack. BungoBox was a great alternative to going to HomeDepot, buying a bunch of boxes for a $1 (or more) a piece, getting the packing tape, struggling with the packing tape while trying to make durable boxes, worrying that all my stuff would be squished in the cardboard boxes, unpacking and then having to break down and either recycle or free-cycle all those boxes. The Bungo Boxes were big enough for everything we packed (and the two XL boxes helped with kitchen pans, etc.) and I liked that they are hard, stackable plastic so I didn't worry about things beings squished or crushed from the top. The boxes are a little tough to carry by hand (we had to walk them down a hill, so the dolly wasn't happening), but if you have a hand truck and can use that they would be perfect. I reiterate from others that the customer service is GREAT. They keep in touch about the drop-off and pick-up and respond when you call. Really helped with our move - if anything, having a "must be unpacked" deadline was great for getting us off our butts. :D read more

I have been trying to get a refund for weeks now. I have been ignored for weeks. I got an email from Carol at DMV admin confirming my order was cancelled and to expect a refund in 2-3 business days. I am a very patient person. I waited nearly two weeks before I emailed her again asking about the status of my refund. No response. After another couple of days I called a phone number on their website. They were all "busy helping other customers," and so I left a message. A couple of days go by with no response. I call again. We just finished moving our 4 bedroom house into a 2 bedroom apartment. I am convinced that the process would have been much more tedious and difficult if it hadnt been for Bungo Box. The whole experience, from the quality of the boxes, wheels, and hanger closets, to the flexibility and availability of its staff make this a no-brainer. I rented the boxes last Thursday, deciding to go for a greener option for my massive move - and a cheaper option in contrast to the traditional cardboard boxes. Since the boxes are plastic you dont have to worry as much (or at all) about the packing inside the boxes. I only purchased one roll of paper from Home Depot to pack my wine glasses, the rest was packed as is - nothing broke, which was a first in my long moving history. We did hire a company for the move itself, and they seemed to move at the speed of lighting with these boxes - especially considering that I could push a huge stack without any effort. Ken picked up the boxes within the time we had requested and was extremely helpful. I will definetly use this service in my next move and will recommend it to friends and family. read more

UPDATE: I finally got a hold of a manager Sunday morning, and apparently someone at corporate had inputted my phone number incorrectly, which is why no one was able to get in touch with me. They have delivered the boxes now, and they offered me a discount. The product is awesome, and the delivery guy was great, it just seems like they overbooked and the logistics behind the scenes were screwed up. --- It is now 24 hours after my original delivery window, and I still have not received the Bungo boxes. I had arranged for the boxes to be delivered on Saturday during the 8AM to 10AM window (with 10AM to 12PM as my second choice). The night before, I received an email asking if I had flexibility in my timing because they had 15 stops, and would be in my area between 2:30 and 4:30 PM. I asked if they could be delivered earlier than that, and she said she would get back in touch with me in the morning. She didn't. I wasted an entire day waiting for them to show up. Despite my repeated phone calls and emails, she did not get back in touch with me until 10:40 PM Saturday night when she emailed me saying the driver was there and asking for my phone number. But unfortunately I was already asleep having given up after I hadn't been able to get a hold of anyone all day. Now it is Sunday morning, and I have left two more voicemails on the local and corporate number and sent another email. Hopefully someone will deliver the boxes today as I desperately need to start packing. Bungo Box was highly recommended by a coworker, and I've heard the boxes are great quality, so I really hope they make this right. read more

Wow, what a great experience we had with BungoBox DC. We rented boxes for 2 weeks, but during that time my Grandmother fell ill and a week later passed away. The toll this took on my family (and my move timeline) was astronomical. I called their customer service number and left a voicemail to ask for a delayed pick up date. Within minutes I got a call from the OWNER! He was kind, he helped me move the pick up date, and he helped a hard situation feel less taxing. I was referred to bungo box by a coworker who used them before I did. It was an awesome experience. The boxes are hard plastic totes with lids that interlock. You don't have to worry about crushing anything cardboard. We had the opportunity to pack our old kitchen up, move it to the new house, unpack it and reuse the boxes again. This was the easiest moving experience ever. I have moved over 15 times in my adult life, and these boxes made this one of the best. I was able to pack them completely full without worrying about the boxes giving out. They also stack really easily without having to worry about the box at the bottom being crushed.
