Kerb really saved me out of a messy moving situation. I originally booked with a different moving company to ship my car from Virginia to Oregon. However, on the day of my cars pick up date (and less than 48 hours before my flight) the original company cancelled on me(please see my other reviews about USA Auto Transport). I had to find a company to ship my car with less than a days notice since my flight was in the early morning. I called Kerb at 5pm in the afternoon needing a car picked up the next day for a cross country move. They were able to call a driver, confirm that he would be able to pick up my car, all before I signed anything or paid any money. The next day the driver met me and picked up my car. In addition, the driver who picked up my car is the same driver who delivered my car to me in Oregon. Thats a huge plus to me. Ive shipped my car coast to coast before and sometimes your car goes through a handful of drivers. I received my car in the same condition I gave it to the driver in just 6 days. Pretty good turnaround time if you ask me. The only thing I would be aware of is that Kerb was a little pricier than some of my other options but again, this was a last minute shipping so I understand needing to pay more to entice a driver to get my car. Also, you get what you pay for with cross country moves so keep that in mind. Cheaper movers are not necessarily reliable (they may cancel on you last minute like they did with me). read more

DO NOT USE KERB MOVING. I picked Kerb to move myself from Washington, DC to Austin, TX. I chose Kerb based on the positive reviews on Yelp. I am writing this review to explain my horrible experience that is not like the others. I regret choosing Kerb due to the damage to my goods/lost goods, and Kerb's terrible customer service. For the DC portion of the move, Kerb picked a local moving company called I Loving Moving. I paid Kerb for a full pack and the total cost to move my one bedroom apartment came to around 10,000 dollars, which included to cost of packing. The movers showed up 5 hours late on the day Kerb told me the movers were to arrive. In DC, you have to reserve a loading dock time and the elevator. I reserved the morning slot because they told me they were coming between 9 and 11 am - probably closer to 9 am. The local moving company did not arrive until 1 pm. When the local movers arrive at the site at 1 pm the loading dock was already reserved by another tenant. The local moving company decided they did NOT want to move me that day and wanted to leave my apartment. Kerb also tried to give me a new date that was TWO days later. I was frustrated that they could just switch the move on me because their own team was late. The movers provided no explanation for why they were late. They could still park the truck in the loading area and begin packing me. The other tenant only had a pod that was parked outside the loading dock area. Ultimately, I did not trust Kerb to come back two days later and considering the 14 day business window to receive my goods in TX, I wanted to have them pack my goods on the agreed upon date/window. The movers finally decided to move me after much negotiation on my part (Kerb did not help). I paid the movers to pack me. The movers did not bring anything to pack, so they had to leave to gather packing supplies. They did not begin working until around 3 p.m. They had to leave twice to get boxes and paper. They did not use special boxes for dishes or use bubble wrap. They did not use a variation of box sizes - only large boxes. The movers complained the entire time packing me. Their boss called me before hand, and asked me to observe their work ethic and report back. Their work ethic was the worst I've ever seen from movers. They threw things into boxes and were very unmotivated and angry. I had previously sent Kerb an inventory and a video of my one bedroom. There were no surprises. The moving company left my apartment at 8 p.m. This was after I went to FedEx myself before 7pm (when FedEx closed) to buy boxes because the movers just stopped packing because they ran out of boxes. I called their boss when I was at FedEx and he was also angry at his crew and offered to reimburse me for the boxes. He said he would stop by to supervise the end of the move, but he did not show up. When my stuff arrived in TX, all the boxes were smashed. The movers in TX commented on how terrible the boxes were packed. I lost two lamps and lots of kitchen equipment, like dishes and lids to my pyrex. My Mr. Coffee Espresso machine was broken. Many wine glasses and plates were shattered - at least 15. The DC movers threw all my clothes in wardrobe boxes without a rod so they were all wrinkled. I had to pay to get them dry cleaned. My kitchen chair was broken. My West Elm coffee table mirrored part was broken. My bed screws were lost, so the movers in TX could not put my bed together. My bookshelf was broken. My kitchen table is so wobbly because they did not take it apart during the move so it has expanded and doesn't fit together the same way. My nightstand leg fell off. My other nightstand had lost handles. The screws to my TV were lost so the TV could not be put on the stand. I received someone else's table - that had a different name on it and was supposed to go to Sacramento. The movers here in Texas said that they were not even driving to Sacramento. I got someone else's desk chair. I also received someone else's headboard. Kerb has done nothing to help me besides offer $250 dollars which does not cover the damages/pain and suffering for this move -- not even close. PLEASE CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE TO MOVE YOU, especially if you're moving from DC! Please do not pay them to pack either because they will do a way worse job than you could do yourself. However, Kerb did do a great job transporting my car so if you are using Kerb for vehicle transport the man who picked up my car in DC was very meticulous and took great care of my vehicle. read more

I've hired Kerb movers twice in the last two years. For our first move from Los Angeles to Seattle, we were assigned Charlie as our project manager, and things were relatively smooth. The LA team was courteous and respectful. We had a custom built computer that required crating, which they actually created on the spot - very cool! They also transported our vehicle, and it was easy and convenient to have the same company for both types of moves. Fast forward to delivery - the same team that helped us in LA also delivered our items, and reassembled the furniture that they had taken apart as part of the move. Although one of our TVs was broken in the process, the damage was taken care of almost immediately and we were able to get a replacement in less than a week. So, when it came time to move again, I knew who to call. We called Kerb and got assigned to Charlie again. Great! I assumed that this next move would be just like the last... I could not be more wrong. For the last 45 days, I have been dealing with the most atrocious customer service from Kerb. On pickup day, their drivers arrived over 4 hours late, with the wrong size crew AND truck. They attempted to get me to pay them upfront for overages, which I refused to do without documentation. Everything went downhill from there. The crew was disrespectful to me in my own home, and when it came time for delivery, they were late AGAIN. This time, they literally threw my items into our storage unit, ripped off the moving blankets and drug our furniture across the floor. Almost everything we own has been destroyed and Kerb has since refused to take responsibility. Thankfully, we purchased additional insurance, but that does not cover the weeks and weeks of stress and anxiety caused by Kerb's gross negligence. I am filing a complaint for their unethical practices with the Federal trade board. read more

All the time being consumate professionals. I highly suggest this company above all others in the area, if you have a chance to work with them. I was the guy that moved to LA from Boston & keep calling because I was scared my new landlord wouldn't have the key for you guys to get in when you arrive. My friend was moving from DC to California. I was helping her move and we shopped around for a moving company. We found Kerb and they just provided us a sense of comfort. We knew all her things would have to travel across the country. Just the idea of this made her nervous. I mean imagine just one day packing up and moving across the country. We had a couple concerns with the move that Kerb addressed. One was how the valuable items, furniture, and fragile items would be packaged. One the day of the move, Kerb's team showed up at her place on time as they promised. They brought plastic bubble wrap and shrink wrap to package the valuable items. The bed was wrapped with bubble wrap so that it would get dinged up. Her TV was also bubble wrapped and moved into the truck. Her desk was also wrapped up. After the bubble wrap, the movers placed blankets to place on top of things. We boxed majority of her smaller items. We watched as the movers carefully secure all her items inside the trailer. After seeing how the movers wrapped and secure her items in the trailer she was relieved. When the truck arrived in California, we received all the items. We checked to make sure that there was no damage on any of her items and didn't find any. We definitely would recommend Kerb for moving again. read more

When I graduated college, I needed to move all of my things out from DC back to LA. When I was doing my research with different long distance moving companies, Kerb stood out since they gave me the most competitive quote that was within my student budget. I told them the deadline I needed to get all my things out since my landlord was rushing me out for new tenants and they were accommodating by showing up on time and getting all of my things packed. I also pointed out all of my fragile belongings such as glass items and they had special bins to wrap and transport them. All of my belongings came back to my new home without any damage. All the workers were really polite and made the process really smooth for me. They also handled all my belongings with respect. I moved so much when living away from home for undergrad. Literally moved every year from dorms to living in an apartment off campus. My friend referred me to Kerb and decided to try them out since moving is always so exhausting to do on your own. They responded immediately when I asked for quotes and gave me a great quote that was within my budget. The movers were very prompt when scheduled to come and started packing up my belongings. I tried to help but they insisted on taking care of everything. Boxes were secure and fragile items were placed carefully in bins. I'm really surprised there aren't many reviews from the past year! I used Kerb for a long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Portland, OR. I spoke with about 15 moving companies, and decided to go with Kerb for a few reasons: 1) their pricing was lower than the competition, 2) the customer service representative I spoke with was very friendly and patient with me as I rattled off a ton of questions (he didn't seem to be pushing me to commit like many other companies), and 3) Kerb seemed far more flexible than other companies. I was only moving a 1 bedroom apartment (and I don't have a ton of fragile stuff/didn't need packing services), so price, trustworthiness and convenience were the main considerations for me when looking for a moving company. Kerb checked all boxes. I signed an agreement shortly after talking with Kerb, and I'm so glad I did! And I didn't have to pay until the day the movers picked up my stuff in Chicago. My dedicated customer service representative Charlie was easy to reach via email in the months leading up to my move, and he quickly answered all of my questions. On the day of the move, I was given an arrival window for my movers. The movers did show up about 30 mins early, which didn't bother us as we were available all day, but that's something to take into consideration if you work with Kerb. The movers were professional and worked very quickly. They disassembled my large furniture and wrapped everything carefully. 3 weeks later my items arrived in Portland, and the movers that moved my items into my new apartment were just as professional and efficient! The destination movers showed up right on time and reassembled all the necessary furniture. All of our items were undamaged and accounted for. Even our glassware arrived unscathed! Kerb does seem to have longer delivery windows than other moving companies I spoke with, but that didn't bother me, as the price was lower. Only makes sense that you'd sacrifice timing. In the weeks leading up to my items being delivered in Portland, we received daily text updates letting us know where in the country our moving truck was, which put us at ease. I highly recommend this company. When I called them they were very easy and straight forward to work with. I told them what I needed, they gave me a quote, and we set up a date all very quickly. On the date we set up they arrived early and were very friendly and professional. They were very careful with all my stuff and took very good care of all my fragile items. I was impressed with how quickly they could break my bed and furniture down to move easier. When I arrived at my new apartment there was nothing missing and everything was put together perfectly. I never thought I'd be writing a positive review for any moving company after hearing so many horror stories from friends and family about their experiences with various companies but if I could give Kerb more than 5 stars I would. They made what could have been an incredibly stressful time and experience so easy and pleasant by being STELLAR from start to finish. My husband and I just moved from Los Angeles to Washington, DC and spent weeks researching moving companies, reading reviews and getting estimate after estimate but nothing felt right and we were getting closer to our move and had made no plans or decisions. I was driving home from work one day feeling extra stressed about the fact that we hadn't locked in a company when I noticed a Kerb truck on our street several doors down from us. I hadn't heard of the company but the movers were outside and they seemed so professional and pleasant, I decided to look into the company. After reading some reviews, I contacted them through their general online form and heard from someone immediately and within a couple of days I was connected to Brian H. from their sales team. Brian could not have been more patient with me as I bombarded him with question after question. I had sent him an inventory list of larger items and furniture I wanted them to pack and move and then an estimated number of boxes which we were planning on packing ourselves. Over the 2-3 weeks from when I first contacted them until I finally signed a contract, Brian must have adjusted the estimate 10 times because I kept updating the inventory list and number of boxes but he was incredibly understanding and kind through it all. Once I was comfortable with the estimate and the estimated delivery window, I pulled the trigger and my experience with Kerb only got better from there. They are incredibly great at communicating with you every step of the way, from arranging the pickup to when your things are loaded onto the long distance truck, to texts letting you know where the truck is each day to arranging the delivery. I never once had to check in with them between the automated texts updating me with the truck's daily location and the calls and e-mails from Nicole and Tara in the Dispatch Department. For an additional "redelivery fee" we were able to narrow down our guaranteed delivery to a seven day window. Not only did Kerb make that window but our things arrived in DC a day early and they were able to deliver them on the first day of that window. Needless to say, we were THRILLED to have our things delivered the day we got the keys to our new house. And while the guys who delivered our things in DC were great, they are not Kerb employees as they contract out to local movers in the area so I would be remiss if I didn't reserve a special paragraph in this review for the Kerb movers in LA - Jose, Santos and David who were a godsend. They could not have been more professional, efficient, helpful and kind from the moment they arrived at our home. They handled everything with such care and answered our 900 questions. They have a very efficient system of labeling and scanning every single item and box that goes onto the truck and go over the inventory list and box count multiple times with you to make sure it's all accurate. And on the DC end, when the movers arrived, they handed us a clipboard with the full inventory list and let us check off items ourselves as they unloaded them and brought them inside. Not only was everything accounted for, not a single thing was damaged or broken. We shipped some pretty delicate glassware and not a single thing showed up broken. I used Kerb's vehicle shipping service because of the high reviews. It turned out to be a disaster. First, the shipping was the most expensive among all the quotes I received. In fact, Kerb charged at least 20% more than the company whose shipping quote was the second highest. I was willing to pay for expensive but excellent service, but in the end, I paid at the first-class price for third-class service. Second, the company has poor management. I received emails, messages, and calls from different people from the same company regarding my shipment, and they gave you different information. I emphasized that the vehicle pickup time was tight from my side when I first called Kerb. They claimed to put a note on the reservation and would take care of my car. Then they kept you waiting without informing me whether they found a driver and when a driver would pick up your car. I had to call them many times to ask for information. In the end, the Kerb still assigned a pickup time that did not work for me. When I told them, they later blamed me for changing the pickup time. Second, you had no idea when your car would be picked up and were kept in the dark regarding the delivery time. You were supposed to wait for the driver's message from 8 am to 10 pm every day after the picked up. Third, I can understand that it is challenging to coordinate well. However, these people did not update you at all. At first, the driver said he would deliver my car in the evening one day after or in the morning two days after the pickup date. However, I did not receive any update two days after and still did not get my car. Fourth, the company has terrible customer services. When I messaged the customer service that I did not get my car and did not have any update, the customer service called me crazily and said that she could NOT understand why I was disappointed. She said the driver could not update me because he was busy with other customers. In summary, though you are a customer who paid at a high price, you are supposed to be accommodating and understanding. Kerb is your customer. read more

Moving is never a fun experience, lots of packing and stress that's for sure! But with these guys, moving (especially cross country) was unbelievably easy and efficient! My aunt was planning on the huge move back to Cali after she got her dream job in San Francisco& asked my mom to help her( naturally that means me) I looked at several different moving companies (Mayflower, A1, etc.) and got quotes from each for her. Kerb gave me the best quote out of all of the rest because not only do they do free in home estimates, they also offer full packing and unpacking services! My aunt being the busy lady that she is and also being by her self out in DC loved when I told her that. The movers delivered all her items and valuables without a single box or crate "gone missing" my aunt couldn't stop raving about how great prompt, respectful, & polite the movers were. They provided her with special bins/crate for her valuables& trinkets and helped wrapped up a precious &fragile family heirloom secured it with a blanket type cover and tape. I moved from Northern Virginia to Southern California, we left our vacuum and some random items in the trunk and they made it to our destination. Pick up went okay, the guy scraped his truck against the Walmart wall but no fault of his own, some other truck was parked blocking the very narrow passageway! None of those cars got scraped or anything but since I saw it happen I included that. As far as the drop off, the trucks brakes were out or something but basically they called me Friday to tell me to be available Monday between 8-11, then kept me on standby all damn day and then informed of the brake stuff, the next day stand by all day no window, I had to be the one to keep calling the lady. But eventually I got my car within the 10 day window, earlier even. The issues were with the carrier NOT with Kerb. Kerb was awesome, I loved knowing ahead of time the FOR SURE amount I would be paying and I got to choose three pick up window days, I did Saturday, Monday and Tuesday (they don't work Sunday) but as it turned out the driver picked my car up Sunday. I would absolutely use Kerb again. I've moved my car before and trust me this process was much easier and better than the sketchy reviews I read for other companies. We plan to use them again when we move back East in a few years. I recommend that if you're like me and worried out of your mind regarding payments and such, that you take a chance on Kerb! read more
