Lastly they have a pretty good selection of locally brewed craft beer. I appreciate that they have vegetarian options since but every establishment in Chico does. I'm from down south and we happened upon this place because of the great reviews and let me tell you: From the friendly and genuinely kind owner, to the quality of the food used, everything was over the top wonderful!! I will be visiting at least once a visit while I'm in Chico going forward. Located on Third st in downtown, I was able to park 3 spots down from the restaurant, felt very safe in the neighborhood and enjoyed probably one of the top two cheeseburgers in my life!! This establishment is located in the old Momona location. I came here one Saturday evening for some lunch. I've been wanting to try this anticipated new restaurant since it's been on the rise. Owner took my order and was nice & thorough in explaining what a 'bun burger' was. Now onto the food, I felt like it was awkward to eat the burger itself. First bite into the bun, I nearly burnt my tounge. I let it sit until it was okay to eat but ultimately all it is a beef pattie wrapped in a bun & they bake it. The flavor was okay, not anything fancy or special. The house sauce tasted like thousand island dressing. Fries were good though. This meal costed me about $20. I am only a bit discerned to see why I paid this amount for the portion because of the location. It is beef Wellington with way more choices in seasonings and condiments inside the thin baked sesame roll which surrounds the meat. Crazy delicious. I picked the chicken meal. The chicken was cooked perfectly with fresh (warmed up) tomatoes and seasoning covered and bake in their super unique bun. The French fries are the medium thick crispy golden brown- fabulous! It was different from the burgers we are used to and I think it was even more delicious. I guess they have a secret recipe. The food there is fairly decent. It's an interesting concept since I never had anything like it before (it's literally a bun enclosed with the patty and toppings inside). The only flaw I had to this was the wait time. I waited nearly 1 1/2 hour for my food to be ready. I checked in after about an hour because I thought they forgot my food but as I was checking I realized a lot of people a head of me did not get their food either. Some people who came there for lunch ended up talking for the hour and just having everything packed to go. I don't know if they have changed over time (went there about 2 weeks ago from this posted date) but expect to wait a long period of time. They do have a door dash account. So if you do plan on ordering food from here, I advise order at least 1 hour ahead. At least from my experience I would to do so. Overall, food quality was decent. I would say to still try it out. It is a bit pricy so there's that as well. I spent about $22 for a single patty bun burger, some fries (really good but they only give you a bit), and a canned soda. read more

I had no idea what to expect when I walked in. After looking at the menu I decided to try the Tomato burger. I also looked at the sauce choices and decided to take a chance on their house sauce. I sliced open my Bun Burger to reveal a mouthwatering mix of beef, melted cheese, tomato, and steam. I quickly abandoned the knife and fork and ate it like any other burger. But it certainly didn't taste like any other burger. To many places known for their hamburgers, the meat always seems like an afterthought to other exotic toppings. Here they seem to focus on the core of the burger - the meat. As good as the burger was, the memory of the visit is eclipsed by the house sauce for the fries. Everyone at the table selected different sauces and we got to try most of them. They all had their merits but the house sauce was Uh-mazing. It is a savory sauce that reminds me of the secret sauce at burger hut but with a more complex mix of flavors.
