Grilled razor clam with green onions

We ordered all four best seller seafood dishes and all of them were great! Seafood was fresh and the salty egg york source was delicious! The restaurant owner was friendly and service was fast.

grilled bloody clams with green onions

Great customer service and the place deserves more hype. The grilled bloody clams were my favorite and I already ordered it togo twice. The spotted snails were more chewy and harder to get it out of the shells. Both were fine with the yummy dipping sauce but I won't order them again purely because it was hard to get them out. Also ordered the snail with coconut sauce, but didn't take a picture. Snail meat was tiny and hard to suck them out, but the coconut sauce was on point! Overall very decent Vietnamese snails options, I just wish they also have the fish sauce for dipping. I will definitely be back for the clams and probably give the razor clams a try.

This place completely satisfied my taste buds -- 100%. The four best seller dishes are all must-try dishes!!!! The pineapple fried rice with their special sour and hot sauce is sooooo good, and the mango sticky rice dessert is also incredible!! Definitely a must try!! 绝了!绝绝子!

Absolutely obsessed with these oysters -- so fresh they practically tasted like they were just pulled from the water.

The snail with salty egg is very tasty. Also like the vermicelli tray with fresh rice paper!

The food and service were great. Ordered all the best sellers, and really enjoyed the scallops and oysters. Their spicy white dipping sauce was amazing too!

Great food at a very good price and comes in a good portion. Service was great and kept on checking up on us. The restaurant interior just makes me feel like I'm at home eating a nice home cooked meal. Everything was flavorful and savory and not even bland. This spot I would say is underrated and people should come here and give it a try!

Our friend recommended this place to try from xiao hong shu and it was sooo delicious! I didn't even take photos of everything we got but everything was a hit! I don't really eat seafood which is what they are known for so I was a little nervous going but they had so many options I didn't have any issues choosing something delicious without seafood! I got the tom yum noodle soup which was perfect for this fall weather we have been having! The khao soi was also soooo delicious, very impressive! They got some oysters to split too which looked and honestly smelled really good too and they said they really enjoyed them! The prices I felt were pretty fair too, I think my soup was $15 or so and I even had leftovers! The service was sooo good too! I think it's a mom and pop restaurant and the gentleman at the front was so friendly and made excellent recommendations! He kept checking to see how we were doing and had such a warm and kind presence and smile! It's rare to find this type of hospitality in restaurants nowadays I feel so this was definitely refreshing! I will definitely be coming back and am glad I found this hole in the wall secret gem restaurant!

    Fried chicken wings

This place has potential. I've been here twice and everything I've had so far has been decent but good. My first time I had a sampling of their appetisers and noodles. I first went with the roti and curry. The deep fried beef and the chicken wings. For the main dish I had the pad see ew. When asked how spicy I said " how spicy, 1-5?" He said "yes" so I said "5". 5 being the spiciest. Of course as all concerning Asian restaurant owners and cooks go he was like "you sure?" I said "yes lol". Of course this went back and forth but I assured him. I'm happy they care because sometimes people don't, regardless of race or creed. They'll send you to hell without a mint and move on to the next. I also ordered a Thai tea and enjoyed it while I waited. He saw I was thirsty and promised me a refill on my way out which was very accommodating and made me feel more appreciative. It took roughly fifteen minutes for my food which came out upon completion until were stacked up perfectly. I went to a little spot down by the water and went in. My first dish was the roti. It was my first time. Now even though it was my first time I have a feeling it was a frozen dish to which they might've heat up and a made a simple curry to go along with it. It was ok. The next were the chicken wings. Again I think frozen or pre made. Nothing to think about and would never order again. The next appetiser though was good. The deep fried beef. It was like eating cooked jerky but way better flavour. I'd order that again no question. So besides the jerky everything was like meh so far. When I opened the container holding the pad see ew I immediately knew I had a winner. Still piping hot from the wok. The container itself burned my thighs so I needed a barrier to prevent further scalding. I could smell the spices. It was aromatic and pungent but it didn't burn my nostrils. But it definitely let them know that a burn was imminent and not just temperature wise. I especially took joy in smelling the white pepper used. It's one of my favourite ingredients. I grabbed my chopsticks and went in. Now I know why the man asked me if I was sure. It. Was. SPICY HEHEHEJEJ. I've had spicier but not on a while and honestly the older I get the less spicy I get. But this blew me away. I mean don't get me wrong. It had great flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The vegetables still had snap. And the beef was perfection. But the spice took me for a ride. I had to finish it the next day but it was still delicious. Now every time I've been there there's family eating seafood and pho. I've had their panang curry with sticky rice and wished it was more but I stilled enjoyed it. But I think the thing to do is to go and sit down and eat in and order the seafood and the snails. Plus the shellfish. When Om able to I will. I'm how this place survives because the stuff se really nice and pleasant. I believe they are family owned. Try them out.

    Shrimp Papaya Salad

The food was amazing and tasted of fresh quality! And the papaya salad was the perfect amount of spice and you can adjust to your liking. The chicken fried rice has a lot of flavor with the rice itself and everything brought it together. By far my favorite is the mango sticky rice and would recommend to anyone who comes. Mango was juicy and the rice is visually pleasing and tastes just as great! I took some roti dip home to try for the first time and I'm happy I did! It's minced chicken with lots of flavor and some flatbread that compliments it so good. If you like something tasty but simple as an appetizer this is a great choice!

We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

Food was definitely better this time around. I opted with the seafood salad, which was what it sounded like. The one thing that stood out to me were the smoked scallops, which I could have just ate a whole plate of. There was a fair amount of seafood amongst the plate. Tip: Mondays are half price bottled wine, which was probably the best deal of the night. Now for my salad and bowl of soup I think was around $50+. I'm not afraid to spending money, but I can say you must be paying for the view, and I get it. But the overall price we paid. Idk. The service was a glaring issue, in which I think there were a total of maybe 10 tables that were taken in the whole restaurant. The server was nice enough, but not attentive at all. Now I'm not going to lie the birthday boy set up his dinner for 7pm on a Monday. We did not know that Ivars closed at 8....and no one even told us at any point. I get this was to be polite, but had we known we probably would have been out of there a lot earlier. We did end up leaving at 10 to 9, but probably could have been gone a lot earlier had anyone mentioned that they closed at 8 or we didn't have to wait for our bill for 20+ minutes. I did feel bad after knowing we stayed so late, but like I said there was a definite lack of communication. Also one last thing. Charging for the bread, I don't know if that's new, but seems rather silly to me. I feel like I'm being generous with the 4 star review, in actuality closer to 3.5, I just feel bad making them stay until after close.

The online menu asked what two sides you want with the Loco Moco. It showed a plate with two burgers, two eggs on a large bed of rice plus gravy...and what looks to be macaroni salad for 13.75. It asks what you want for your first side. It asks what you want for your 2nd side. I am guessing you get 2 sides with the rice/burgers. I was not real sure. So I asked for 2 sides of macaroni. It asks for mini or 2.50 for regular. I am thinking they will give you reg. side macaroni for 2.50 more. I go back and ask for mini. I do not need that much macaroni. Very disappointed to open the take out container to find zero rice and one small burger with an egg sitting in gravy and 2 sides of macaroni. They need to make this more clear. You only get 2 burgers and eggs if you add 2.50 (regular size). If you choose mini its not for the size of the sides but way less meat. I believe the photo and wording were very misleading. We also ordered Mochiko Chicken....Macaroni salad and broccoli, also a mini. I had it once before, somewhere else, and loved it. Ordered a Hawaiian Chicken BBQ plate, again mini and 2 sides. Did not like either of them. Hawaiian chicken BBQ was like a chicken thigh flattened with soy sauce maybe...no sweetness etc. They both kind of tasted the same. My 2 adult kids barely ate any of it. This was a real treat for us on a very sad day and it was not what we were expecting.....The macaroni salad was just ok...if I added salt. Said We could save 15% with ordering more so we ordered the won tons. They did not come with sweet and sour sauce but sweet chili sauce. I did not care for it at all with the fried won tons. In long This place has great word of mouth and I'm glad I finally got to check it out. I tried 2 things, and, so far, the menu seems to be executed very well. The whole menu looks crazy promising, so this is an excellent sign. I came in for a late lunch on a summer Friday during World Cup. A few folks were watching the game--there were a handful of gasps for great shots and saves. But most of the scattered crowd was there for a leisurely lunch (or beer). They have a solid tap lineup with lots of dependable local favorites, and the tender knew quite a few people by name *and* by beer preference as soon as they sat down. Said she had been there over 5 years. Great vibe, lots of happy customers. It probably gets kinda loud in here when it's packed--you can tell from the photos that everything is concrete and wood and whatnot. No acoustic baffling that I could see. Easy to clean, though, and it was definitely just pleasant and sociable the whole time I was there. I got the Blue Burger with a cup of clam chowder. You can tell the soup is scratch, nice little dicing on the potatoes and veg, decent amount of clams. Comes with the oyster crackers that some of us have loved for decades. The burger is hearty--thick patty, thick stack of veg, squishy thickish bun. Easy enough to eat but without a doubt it's the opposite of a smashburger. I know, I know. This is a seafood joint. You can tell from the fake seagulls right by the front door. But it's been ages since I had a burger, and at least I tried the chowder. Everything was easily good enough to come back and see how the water side of the menu is. I was in and out for a fair price, and never doubted that everything would be very good. And that's exactly how it turned out. I'll happily be back.
