While in Mrytle Beach for my birthday trip, Tony and I stopped by this great little establishment by accident. We had walked over from our hotel to grab a sandwich at the Deli next door. I opened the door to this great place on hapistance!! Dark panelled walks, dark comfy inviting booths and large oak bar alongside one wall gives it that OLD WORLD feel and IRISH PUB nuiance that it shouts!!! I would definitely recommend you to go if visiting Mrytle Beach and you want a quick port to drown the sorrows of your world...NO seriously a great little pub with tons of character...sort of a Cheer's flare Tony's PBR was only $2.45 NO SMOKING

The service and food was amazing here. We came to watch the game and drink, and we were able to watch 4 different games from a great view at the bar! Brandon and Meagan were awesome to us and we had wings and Philly cheese steak egg rolls that were great as well. We will definitely be back! Thanks!

    A towering club! Satisfying!

After a long day of Mini-Golf fun with friends, some refreshments and relaxation were called for. This place was cute and had some great beer selections, so we popped in. Initially seating ourselves at a booth, we soon asked if there was outdoor seating and relocated to the back deck to enjoy the evening breeze. Service was friendly and helpful in recommending sides and beverages, and we soon received drinks and appetizers. The hot new item was the corned beef egg rolls, and they were delicious, with Thousand Island for dipping. The fresh pretzels with cheese and mustard were up to par, and by the time we were done with those I barely had room for a bite of my Cuban, so I ate it later and it was delicious reheated in the toaster oven as well. Hubby's club was fresh and fully stacked, and everyone else enjoyed their sandwiches as well. The atmosphere was loose, casual, and fun, with 80s pop hits playing and cornhole set up to play. This is clearly a locals place to hang out, and while we could have stayed for hours, we had other places to be. We'll remember it for next time, for sure!

Wow, the bartenders here work their asses off! We came to watch the Badger and Ohio State game on a Saturday night and they were slammed. They dealt with lots of fun and not so fun customers and were incredible! They were super friendly and efficient, despite the chaotic customers. They were taking drink orders, making them, and placing food orders so quickly. They drinks were great and the food was delicious! I don't usually love burgers but their sliders were incredible! They came with the most delicious fries and coleslaw. They were garnished with pickles, which earns them extra points in my book. :) The pub itself is the cutest little English pub! It really feels like you're at a pub in England. I highly recommend! One of my favorite spots in Myrtle Beach.

Visited there alone for a quick drink. It is so cozy and welcoming. Great Black & Tan, wonderful bartender. Yes, highly recommended!

We stumbled into Bumstead's on the first night of our honeymoon, and I'm so glad we did! We had exceptional service, and a draft blueberry wheat beer that was simply amazing. My wife and I split the appetizer of chicken wings, and we still had some leftover after our meal! The mild sauce is a traditional wing sauce, not too hot at all. I'd go for hot if you're brave. For my entreé, I ordered the cuban sandwich and again, was not disappointed. There was a hefty portion of pulled pork, then ham, spicy mustard, and pickles. So good. And it was huge--I took half home! My wife ordered one of the Dipper sandwiches, which also had a lot of meat and a lot of cheese. It's worth the extra $1 to get the fresh fried potato chips--they come to the table still warm! We were also astonished that a Fireball and diet drink was only $4! You can't go wrong here!

Great parm garlic wings and the Central Park sandwich. So good! Also shown the tastiest rekorderlig strawberry cider. My fave.

Ailsa Pub - Myrtle Beach Review (Legends Golf Resort)…read more For starters, I had no idea this place was located within a large, access-controlled gated golf resort community (I'm not local to Myrtle Beach, for context). I later realized the pub is part of Legends Golf Resort, which becomes clear once you pass through the main entry gate. Pulling up to the entrance, there was on-site personnel--looked like security or some type of access control. No issues at all on my end. I rolled up, the gate opened immediately, and I was waved right through. I'm not sure what (if anything) is typically required for entry, but from a first-time visitor standpoint, it was completely smooth. Driving in, the golf course immediately stands out on your left--it's massive. The pub sits further inside and feels like part of a full golf clubhouse setup. When you get to Ailsa Pub, it aligns with what you'd expect from that kind of setting--a true pub environment surrounded by golfers who've clearly been enjoying themselves Before I even walked in (after parking and getting myself together from a long drive), I noticed a couple golfers being escorted out by what appeared to be a representative from the establishment. As I stepped out, one of them made his way over to the bushes near the entrance and decided that was his next "relief stop." It happened to be a windy night, so I crossed to the other side of the street--no need to get caught in any unintended "splash zone." Not a dealbreaker, just one of those moments that gives you a quick read on the overall environment. That said, this is where I think there's an opportunity. Having a more consistent presence outside--especially when guests are being escorted out or appear overly intoxicated--could help better manage those situations and reduce the likelihood of issues as people head out, including potentially getting behind the wheel. Speaking from experience (having spent years working security across a range of bar environments), that kind of presence can make a noticeable difference in keeping things smooth and controlled. Inside the pub and overall physical environment, though--that was a great experience. The place is very well maintained. Clean, professional, and clearly well managed. I felt completely at ease the entire time, including with my vehicle. At no point was I concerned about break-ins or anything along those lines. The space itself is impressive. Large, open layout with plenty of room to move around. There's a sizable back area with what looked like around eight pool tables, a nicely done screened-in section, and even a second outdoor patio bar. It never felt crowded. Staff was excellent--friendly, professional, and attentive. The bartender was responsive and easy to engage with, which always makes a difference. Dress-wise, it leans toward golf attire--polos, golf shorts, that type of look--but it's not overly strict. I came in more casual after the long drive, and the staff welcomed me in without any issues at all. I don't know that I'd make that a habit, but on a late Monday night, it wasn't a problem. As for the crowd, that's really the main variable. My impression was that this is not the type of environment where people are regularly looking to cause more serious trouble. It felt more like a local neighborhood pub where a lot of people know each other--though like any place, every now and then people can get a little too comfortable. Unfortunately, I didn't try the food, but they do serve it and it looked good. There were plenty of plates out, tables being cleared, and staff actively supporting that side of the operation. Bottom line: Great, comfortable environment, strong staff, and a well-designed space. The main opportunity is having a more consistent presence outside to help manage guests as they exit--especially later in the evening. All in all, a solid experience. I'd confidently give it a 4 out of 5 and would absolutely return.

Jan. 2026 My wife…read moreand I hadn't been back to 44 & King in a few years. With so many good restaurants in the area, we usually try new places, but before heading home we decided it was time to stop in again for dinner. As usual, we try to go during happy hour when prices are a bit better, and we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly she greeted us right away, handed us menus, and took our drink order. The menu had changed a bit since our last visit. My wife ordered a Coke, and I had an Old Fashioned. For food, my wife chose the Fried Crab Claws with fries, and I ordered the French Onion Soup along with the Pork Nachos from the happy hour menu. While we were waiting, the bartender asked where we were from. We told her Southern Maryland, and when I said Huntingtown, she immediately said, "That's where I'm from." That alone surprised us not many people even know where Huntingtown is. When we mentioned the road we live on, she said, "That's the road I turn on to my parents' house." This was the first time we've ever met a bartender or server over 400 miles from home who lived that close to us. Small world. Our food came out and my wife really enjoyed her crab claws -- I tried one and they were very good. My French onion soup had a nice, deep beef flavor and was very tasty, but after a few bites there was a heavy pepper bite that came through. It was still good, but I had to switch over and eat some of my nachos, which were also good, though different from how I remembered them. I think the BBQ sauce changed the flavor, and the lettuce (which I usually prefer without) was something I should have asked to leave off. I asked my wife to try the soup and mentioned the pepper and that it might be a little spicy. She agreed it was good but said it would be better if it wasn't so peppery. A little later, the chef came out and introduced himself, Bo. He asked how everything was going. I told him everything was good overall but mentioned the heavy pepper bite in the onion soup and asked if that was normal. He said it shouldn't be that strong and that it needed to be toned back. Bo then asked if we had ever tried Mama's Soup, the tomato vegetable soup on the menu. We hadn't, and he asked if we'd like to try it. Not long after, he brought us another bowl and said, "This is Mama's soup give it a try." It was a vegetable soup with hamburger and a tomato base, and it was so good. When he came back, he explained it was his own version of his mother's soup. We told him it would go perfectly with a gooey grilled cheese, and he laughed and said they actually have one on the menu. It was really nice of Chef Bo to come out, check on us, listened and know something wasn't quite right, and it's being taken care of. That kind of interaction truly makes dining out a better experience. It makes the place feel welcoming, like they genuinely want you there. Yes, we will return -- and we were told that Mama's soup is always on the menu.
