I just had drinks so I can't speak on the food. The bartender came from behind the bar to great us and take our drink order at the cocktail table. Not sure why this place was so empty. We may have been the only ones there for dinner last evening. Staff was very friendly and kind. They had some nice daily happy hour specials and have a huge bottled beer list. If memory serves me correctly also had about a dozen draft beers as well. Wow...such an impressive experience at Bumstead's. My wife and I were not overly hungry so we decided every to visit Bumstead's for Happy Hour. Great first impression for sure, with clearly a English Pub vibe to it and friendly staff like a Cheers! Lindsey served our drinks and took our food order. She was nice as can be, and ensured we had everything we needed. Excellent service to say the least. Tim helped out as things got a bit busy. He has an accent like an Aussie, yet was from New Jersey ...go figure. He was fun to chat with and very pleasant!! The Happy Hour food was the best you could find anywhere. Large selection to chose from, and large portions....not the skimpy half order half price you find elsewhere where they fool you into thinking it is deal. We had blacken shrimp and pretzels. We were told this place served good food and a fun atmosphere, but they were totally wrong. We sat ourselves down because no one came to us. We sat down and no one ever came to our table, we waited about 20 minutes, but ended up leaving very disappointed. Food was pretty good although I only got an app. People were nice. Only potential issue is NO employees were wearing masks during the height of COVID19. Not sure what the state requirement is, but quite honestly, I'd much rather them care enough to wear a mask in the middle of a pandemic. The food here is amazing! I work as a server on the boardwalk and I send my guests to these guys for their attention to detail quality of service and the food. Colorfully decorated with classic string lights illuminating the ceiling and seams of the walls. The backlit glow behind the bar comes from a fully stocked craft beer cooler. A collection of the best songs from multiple generations ties the atmosphere together. You can play pool, you can play adult connect four, you can sit outside and enjoy the patio, or you can guess the card under the beer for a free beer! There's no shortage of things to do here but the bartenders and regulars had the best conversation in town. If that's not enough they have after hour happy hour specials! And yes they have parking!! Very good, especially after a long, hot day on the beach! I had the gamecock (grilled chicken, swiss, bacon, lettuce, tomato and ranch) and it was amazing! Fries were made to perfection as well. They have a huge beer selection, and I was very happy to see Sweet Water blue on draft! Only reason I am not giving the full five stars is because I came in I guess right before the rush. There was only one person on the floor/working the bar so as more people came in our wait time increased a lot. We truly enjoyed our evening at Bumstead's! Our small family group met up at Bumstead's, which we found via Yelp, hoping for a decent meal and drink without the flash and crowds of MB. Around 7pm on Saturday, people were just starting to trickle in. Pitchers of domestic brews were reasonably priced, especially considering the prices at surrounding restaurants here. The food was basic bar staples, including burgers, sandwiches and quesadillas, with special little extras like pineapple cilantro salsa and tater tots. The best part of our visit were the wonderful employees, who chatted with us as though we were old friends, and made us feel very welcome during our visit. There are plenty of TVs showing sports games, and they changed the one by our table just for us. I'd highly recommend Bumstead's for an evening away from the craze of Myrtle Beach! read more

Went here after reading it was the local Redskins bar. Wanted to check it out and see if they had the Washington Capital's game on since it was opening night. Each booth had an individual tv so you could watch what you wanted. We started with the nachos and the mushrooms. Both were amazing. I ordered the hog poind sammich I think is whatever they called it. My lady ordered the French dip. Both sandwiches were really fresh. The only reason I can't give this more than a three is the service time. We were there to drink and watch the game as well as eat but we went along time after the food was delivered before anyone asked if the food was good (we were finished) or if we needed anything. After ordering another drink it took a while to get any more service so we decided to get the check. Overall the food was great but again service was slightly lacking. I recently visited Myrtle Beach for the first time and I heard quite a bit about the fun nightlife that Myrtle Beach offers. So with that in mind we visited several Myrtle Beach bars and night clubs. Most were pretty fun and each offered something unique. Whether it was fun beach bars, karaoke bars, or piano bars, most of the bars offered stout drinks and a great atmosphere. But of all of these bars, Bumstead's was my absolute favorite. Not because of its crazy party like atmosphere or because its right on the beach, but instead because it offers a straightforward and consistent atmosphere with great drinks and great food. You can't ask for more than that. When you walk in the bartenders are quick to serve you and introduce you to their extensive food and drink menu. Bumstead's offers about twenty beers on tap and an endless numbers of local and specialty craft beer by the bottle. If you go you must try the RJ Rockers Son of Peach beer. It sounds a bit weird but it offers bold flavor with a slightly sweet peach flavored kick. On top of the great beer selection, the menu is extensive and the offer a great happy hour menu. Also their bartenders can mix up some great specialty drinks from off the drink menu! They offer your typical bar food with appetizers, burgers, salads, and even cheesesteaks. But the best part is that Bumstead's is partnered with one of the best sub shops in all of Myrtle Beach. Dagwood Deli. They offer these mouthwatering, meat packed, sensational subs all-day, even after Dagwoods is closed! These sandwiches are an absolute must get! Bumstead has dart boards, pool tables, foosball, and plenty of TV's to catch your favorite sports game. And because it was a bit a bit off the beaten path from the beach, it seemed to attract the local crowds giving it more of that authentic Myrtle Beach feel. This is a great bar in Myrtle Beach. If you are looking for a place that is not to touristy, has great dive bar environment, and is just a great place to have fun with friends and family them Bumsteads is the place you should absolutely try out. read more

I've been coming here for many years, I love the food and the beer selection and anytime Stephanie or Jason is working this place is 5 stars all the way! They give the best service and anytime they are there your in good hands. Today I walked in and sat down, almost 10 minutes pass by and the two ladies working didn't even acknowledge us. They were to busy playing on their phone and talking with a guy sitting at the bar. I even asked the girl with the curly black hair for a menu and she totally ignored me. Was a little hesitant upon entering due to the cigarette smoking but was able to cut into the dogwood deli area where there are multiple big screens TVs. We randomly selected 4 items off of the menu- wings, jerk shrimp quesadilla, Philly cheesesteak, and a northern sub. Every single thing we had surpassed my expectations. This place is great! My party appreciated the variety of beers they offered and my mother loved the margarita. Overall this place is a hit!
