So my car was stolen on 10/31 , recovered on 11/2 , right front tire was popped front rims bent ,…read morefront end of the vehicle was crashed, amongst other damage ! $8k in work paid by the insurance company , some of the work included , new rack and pinion , new tires , rims , front end alignment & much much more! 1 month worth of work. So the next day after i pick up my car, I notice a noise in the RIGHT front end, clicking , screeching So I call Marlene and tell her, she says bring the car back in , but before 8am so Harvey has time to test drive the car. Well that was impossible because my only day off was Sunday, mind you I just started a new job 2 weeks prior because I lost mine when the car got stolen because I couldn't make it to work for 3 days . I made them aware of this also. Finally I'm off of work for week, but Dp was Harvey, I was told to bring the car back when he got out of surgery. All along the noise in the right end is worse the suspension is feeling awful. Welp ! I just took my car back over when I could , months later, but I wasn't waiting for the 8am requirement any longer ! Immediately Harvey looks at the car & says, "this car is out of alignment, it was perfect when it left like it was MY fault! Gives me a loaner and hits me with a $1700 estimate! None of the work had anything to do with the noise in the front end! So ask about the noise, he said t,"the ball joints are dry, I'll grease them when If you get the other work done here. and he was gonna throw the alignment in too. Bless his heart ! He was gonna do me a solid! So i said "nah I'll park it , when my taxes come back I'll bring it in" i had no intentions! So i parked my car, then Covid happened! During that time we did all the work he was going to charge $1700 for for less than $700 ! Except the ball joint lube! I take the car to 4 mechanics, all of them insisting that it unethical to align a car with bad ball joints, the ball joints were damaged upon collision especially if they had to replace the rack , tires and rims! They all four assured me it is against manufacturers recommendation to lube those ball joints, if they are dry , they are bad! Replacing a rack on a car with front end collision and 93k miles and not replacing the ball joints is why it's out of alignment!! They all four said , " the car shouldn't be on the road and he knew it! Even after he was going to get rid of the noise with grease but not the problem, align the car again, wait for me to bring it back out of alignment and nail me to have the ball joints replaced! But hey , he wasn't gonna charge me to rig my ball joints and align my car knowing it wouldn't remain aligned in the first place! So here it is 7 months later .....that little noise that just needed some grease has caused a domino effect f issues with my front end! Don't bother coming here! They are blood suckers!

After nearly a month of radio silence and runaround, they tried to tack on extra charges that were never approved. When confronted in person, they doubled down instead of making it right. The attitude was so hostile and uncooperative it bordered on surreal -- as if customer service were a personal insult. The end result? Weeks wasted, money tied up, and a deep appreciation for the phrase "buyer beware." The moment my husband and I pulled onto the lot, I told the salesperson I only wanted to test drive that one vehicle. No other car. I provided my driver's license to them and we were off to test drive around Sykesville for about 30 minutes. Perfect experience so far. I fell in love immediately. When we returned, I told the salesperson we were ready to buy. There were a few minor issues with the vehicle, but they were covered under the 30-day warranty, so I wasn't too concerned. Here's where things shifted a bit. I paid cash for the vehicle--no financing involved. Despite this, they didn't offer any discount, not even $100 or $200. That surprised me. I understand times are different now and margins are tighter, but it still left a bit of a sour taste. Especially considering I wrote a check for the full asking price, including taxes, title, registration, and all fees. Also worth noting: I referred a coworker's boyfriend to this dealership before I even bought my "beauty". He purchased a car from them a week or two prior to my purchase. Yet, there was no referral bonus!! Again, not a dealbreaker--but something I feel should be mentioned. Another detail to be mindful of: Maryland caps the dealer processing fee at $800. They charged $785, which is legal--but they also charge tax on that amount. So while it looks like $785 on paper, it ends up being more like $832. Just something to be aware of when budgeting your finances. To be fair, the dealership did address the minor issues I mentioned earlier within the 30 day warranty, and I appreciate that. But I do feel those problems should've been resolved before listing the vehicle for sale or offering it for a test drive. All in all, would I buy another vehicle from them? Maybe, possibly. They have solid inventory and are locally owned, which I like. But I can't ignore that I was a cash buyer who referred another customer--and I didn't feel like that was valued. A small gesture would have gone a long way. Even just a modest discount or a thank-you referral credit might have made me a long-term, loyal customer. I subsequently called Performance back and told them that it is not fixed and arranged to come back on June 13th and waited approximately two hours for them to fix it. When I got the car back and drove home, it was evident that the unit was still not blowing cold air and called them back and brought my car back in on June 16th and again on June 30th. Spending all total about 8 hours of my time waiting for PROPER repairs to be made. Never being told what was wrong at any time no given a receipt for what repairs were made after the compressor work was done. Finally, I sent an email on July 2nd to them and followed up Tuesday July 5th with a phone call where I talked to the dispatcher and told her that I want my money back and I don't have confidence in the shop. Now they say because the car is old the system should be replaced but they can not state specifically what is wrong. When it was cooler out there was slight cool air at first. Now it is HOT air. Beware of this company as this is highly unethical and unprofessional and not the way customers should be treated. When you give an estimate to fix something, EVERYTHING should be in the estimate; not coming in after the fact and try to b.s. your way through a botched repair.

(as if I wouuld call about this falsly out of the blue and as if I did not buy a car from him that was not cheap!) This made me annoyed. He then told me I needed to come in and they would try to fix it. I asked if he could come to my work place, 2 blocks from their shop, and he could fix it there. He refused and said he was trying to seve me time and aggravation over having to go to MVA for new stickers. His solution was in no way saving me time and aggravation already caused by the error, and in the future to get it fixed. His attitude was terrible- he accused me of "pointing fingrer". I would be VERY CAREFUL about doing business with this complany, especially if you want a company with customer services that stands behind their work.
