This is an excellent company with amazing employees! I have been using bulwark for over a year and have had problems with centipedes and other little bugs up in my guest bedroom. They are prompt, efficient, and so so accommodating! All of their service people that have come to my home have been friendly-and again accommodating. They will come in the house if you'd like them to or they will just do the exterior. They shoot you a text about 10 to 30 minutes before they're going to arrive at your house. We've had only minor pest problems during that time and Bulwark always responds to a call and will come to take care of anything, including a re-do of treatment if needed - without charge. I contacted Bulwark after finding a black window on my front porch, along with an influx of spiders inside my house. They have a 6 month treatment option, so I went with that. The first visit they treated inside and outside, then come every other month now to treat/maintain outside. It has taken a few visits to see a difference, but it's helped. Called Bulwark on Monday about a couple Wasp nests. One had become so active my spouse got stung just opening the door! I did get a foam killer and drenched the next day, but wanted a pro to remove it from inside the narrow opening in a screen door frame. Wednesday was soonest they could come so we just used the other door for a few days just in case. Turned out the spray did kill them, but wanted that nest gone! Their technician, Chris, arrived early Wednesday. He told me he'd freeze the nest in the screen door frame first and then remove it, which he did. It was a little tricky to get to it because of the spot it was in, but with the help of a needle nose plyers I had (hey mgnt, equip your employees with the basics!) he got it. Nice man. He also got one down by the front door with a handle. I'd definitely recommend them again, but seriously, a needle nose plyers would be a good addition for your employees. read more

Bottom line: Good results with Bulwark Exterminating so far. Be aware that it is a continuing service, not one time visit/situation type of solution. Excellent service from staff and representatives with good communication as well. The Deets: I had the experience of hearing what I thought was a mouse inside my wall of my place and I did not wait around to call someone. I found Bulwark Exterminating in Yelp and saw they were local to me so I went with them. They had someone come to my place within 24 hours. I wasn't quite sure about the method but the representative that came out explained all that was to be done and why. I really had not wanted to get a continuing service for pests but wanted to address the job at hand, but also realize that this item may not be a "one-off" situation. So far....good results! No more sounds in the walls and I am ready to see where this subscription service leads this year as it may be a multi season type of situation to watch. The key thing besides results here is that everyone from the initial call to the representatives that have come out to handle each visit have been positive, personable, and convey confidence in their service. Communications have been very good in when the visits will occur and if anything needs to be done beforehand. They also allow you to discontinue if not satisfied, I was infomed in the initial visit. Good communication via phone, text, regarding visits, issues, follow ups etc. In terms of treatment, the people who I interacted with were decent. I can't say exceptionally. I've been using Bulwark Exterminating for about seven years and have not found a company that can replace them for a cheaper price or service. We are on the quarterly service plan and often call them for a complimentary return call between services. The return service is often because of seasonal insects we see inside the house. These are rare and usually Bulwark's outside service takes care of everything. I'm pleased with the service they provide! Appointments are very easy to schedule and they usually have openings in a couple of days. The people are always polite. The only reason I deducted a star is that the price has increased over the past few years. (What hasn't increased over the past few years?). But, I can't find another place that treats our home for less than Bulwark with the same level of service. Recommended! read more

Bulwark seemed to have reasonable and fair prices. They were also very responsive and friendly, both the sales rep and the service provider. I stopped using them because after discovering the massive termite colony in the woods surrounding my house I got their termite service added to my bill. Well that's where the problems started. I told them I wanted a paper bill. They said they HAD to start me off with auto billing but I could call and have it switched to paper billing later. I did so... 3 times. They kept auto debiting my account and on top of that their termite service and bug spray service are separate so you get 2 bills. No way to fix it so I just quit using both services. They also changed their prices and it seemed like they changed the formula that they were using because I started seeing cockroaches about a week or so after they left. I called them and they said that the chemical is an attractant so thats why I was seeing them. That seems like a horrible idea to me but ok sure. In the 2+ years since they've been gone I only see the occasional cockroach... about the same amount as when I was paying for their services. read more

Bulwark is king on service and use great quality pesticide that is non harmful to my dogs and environment. Of course don't have your dogs near application for 30-60mins. Worst case scenario, they get itchy paws. Justin Núñez is the specialist who services my home and he's such a great guy. He even texts me photos of him closing my backyard gate. Unlike other reviews here, our experience has been very poor. We signed a 12 month contract for service a year ago this month for $99 for service inside and out. But, they always came and went and I didn't know they were here. I saw the green receipt on my door later. I thought perhaps they're not doing it because of Covid. Enough is enough though. I'm paying for a service I don't receive! I called AGAIN two weeks ago to get the inside scheduled for JULY. Same thing happened. It wasn't' done. I called corporate and was transferred to a customer service manager, who offered no apologies that I took today off to move boxes out of the way and lead the exterminator. He couldn't have cared less. **Also, they NEVER knock down webs or do any preventative control on the exterior. You have to ask for that, too.** The exterminators themselves are nice men. I've never personally had an issue with them. Something is going on in the back end that's causing the problem. read more

During our initial phone call the representative made it clear that they have no way to disclose what a ballpark range of pricing may be for a typical or an atypical case may be as it would be a disservice to the other members on their team to provide this information to a potential client. DO NOT USE BULWARK Bulwark kept sending my mother letters. When she didn't reply (she has cognitive impairment) they decided to just show up at the house and talk her into spraying for mosquitoes. When I helped her write a check, I found that a much larger check had already been written to them without any documentation or invoice whatsoever. They have NEVER given us an invoice for this $248.00 "service" so I have NO idea if anything was even done. Her caregiver reported that they told her when they visited that there was NO charge and so she allowed them to spray. I wrote an email asking for documentation of anything done for Mom and never received anything. I asked that they not return because at this point I didn't think they could be trusted and then I hear today that they have returned AND charged my Mom AGAIN. UNETHICAL. read more

We regularly receive quarterly pest control from Randall with Bulwark. Randall is very nice and knowledgeable. He always calls before he arrives, and we feel very comfortable with him in our home. I do wish Bulwark had some type of online scheduling system, or a system with plenty of advance notice. I am not a fan of them calling and leaving an automated message that they will be at my house the very next day when I'm working. I always have to call back to reschedule, because I prefer to get the most out of our service and have them spray inside as well. For some reason they only spray the problem areas inside, which is different than other exterminators we have used years ago. I'm not sure how effective that is, but we are able to call back at any time to have them come back out to spray again at no charge. read more

I pay for a year round service for pests and termites. 2 separate bills. Way too expensive for a service that doesn't help. I still see bugs 2-3 times a week. I Call these guys to come out and "spray" and it doesn't solve the problem. I'm ready to handle this on my own with products from a hardware store. The other big complaint I have with these guys is they are money grubbers. After I signed up for my year round subscription, I got over 25 phone calls getting me to sign up for Autopay. 25 calls!! During dinner time , on Saturday's, evenings, it was relentless. Absolutely ridiculous. Obviously autopay means they get their money in an on time and predictable way, but it was borderline harassment to get me to sign up. Never seen anything like it before. It has been a terrible experience. I can't wait until my year subscription is complete and then I'm canceling this garbage service. Terrible company to interact with and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere for your exterminator needs. read more

We had previously used Bulwark, and the service seemed good; however, since using the service in Durham, we have been entirely unsatisfied. First, we had initially called them for mosquito control, but we have continued to have mosquitoes. Worse, after more than a year, when we cancelled our service with them, we learned that they had not been spraying for mosquitoes, which is obviously ridiculous since we had initially employed them to do just that. Second, we had them come to address fleas in our yard, and even with follow-ups, they haven't been able to address the issue. Even with using Frontline on our dogs every month, we still have them in the yard during the summer, and we live in central Durham--an urban area. It doesn't seem difficult to address them. Just do the job we pay you for. Third, 'technicians" come out to your house every month, but consistent with the lack of results above, I'm not sure they actually do anything. I just watched our last "technician" Josh merely walk around the house for a few minutes for our $60/mo. treatment. Didn't seem like he did anything. Sixty bucks for a couple-minute lap around the house with no results seems like an exploitative payday. Given that and the lack of results, we have cancelled with Bulwark and will be seeking other/better pest companies. I would not recommend them. The results speak for themselves--nil read more

I'm skeptical of extermination companies, most of the time they sell you on a grand long term plan of eradication, and then don't follow through. I have to be honest, Bulwark was trending that way with me as well. The first folks that came out to service our home from Bulwark provided, in my opinion, a very lackluster service. I didn't feel like they took our input on where our issues were into consideration, and I didn't like that they weren't keeping up with the original salesperson's glowing accounting of all the different ways they would ensure ants were eliminated. It seemed to me that the service provided was very perfunctory and abbreviated, in and out. Fortunately Tammy reached out to me on her own to check in, and after explaining our feelings, immediately scheduled Eric to come visit our home. My attitude completely changed about Bulwark as a result of Eric's service of our home. He seemed very thorough, including leaving ant bait in critical areas that I pointed him towards as the source of our main problems. He took time to do both floors of the home, and the perimeter of the home, taking special care to hit our problem areas.
