They were able to schedule a next-day, emergent load-out for me, provided me a realistic price-estimate for my belongings, and a written confirmation of the appointment (had a 16-ft PODS container parked outside of my new apartment). Michael gave me a courtesy call 15 minutes before arrival (their arrival was right on time). I was very impressed and a bit surprised at the speed of their service. I hired three guys to carry 1200 square feet worth of heavy, wood furniture, boxes and kitchen appliances up three flights of stairs. I was in the military for 10 years and conducted many moves; I've never had a move that took less than five hours to complete. These guys did it in under four. Do I recommend Little Guys? ABSOLUTELY. I paid for extra manpower I didn't request, extra time which accounted for there stop to the grocery store between houses and snack breaks while loading where I watched multiple times then sit in my driveway and eat Takis. I understand having to make a living but I can't help but feel heavily swindled. I would just be very cautious hiring Tough Guys Moving. It's difficult enough packing your entire house into one semi trailer much less in just a few days for a transit of well over 1,000 miles (destination = Los Angeles, CA). This service center was very accommodating, though. They stated that they make drop-offs and pick-ups only on Tuesday and Thursday in Hobbs. So regardless of what the representative may tell you on the phone, they do not know clearly how all of the service centers operate. TIP: Call the service centers that you know will be handling your shipment as soon as posible to get all the details that you can about arrival and departure times. They cannot give you exact times, but estimates. I was very satisfied with my dealings with the Lubbock ABF service center. They did exactly what they promised. They also shared their suggestions with me about what to do when we arrived in L.A. (even though I had already read over this information via email and the ABF website). Total cost for using their services for the entire trip: $2,669 (11,200 lbs.). Compare that to the $10,000 ESTIMATE that I received from a full service moving company. We needed help unloading the rental truck and moving furniture inside o. n a 115F day. They unloaded the truck, moved item to the desired rooms, and didnt damage anything. When we needed to move recently, this company was still in business, so we gave them a call. Vince asked for some information and had a quote by the next day. A few days prior, he gave me a courtesy call to make sure we were ready. The day before the scheduked move, we werent quite there and asked if we coukd slide the move 1 day to make sure. He had availability and switched the date (no extra charge). The day of the move, our moving van was involved in an accident, and Vince said he could either hand us off to another company for a move the same day, or slide us one more day and make the inconvenience right. We opted to stick with his company. They did a great job packing the truck so nothing was damaged. The unload was also uneventful. When payment was due, Vince didnt add any upcharges, and stuck with our agreed upon price. I suspect i could have asked for a larger discount, but he stuck to his word, and that means a lot these days. And.....just because you can get something for less doesnt mean its right to do it. When we discussed "making it right", I agreed that the price was fair, so i have to stick to my word as well.

They were hired to load my trailer and take half my stuff to a charity that I chose. This was a very simple move for them to complete. But when I was telling them where I wanted my stuff donated, they requested that I give them the donations for their own charity. While this charity is a worthy charity, it has nothing to do with their company, just someone that works there deals with it. They were so insistent and repeated themselves over and over about it that I felt obligated. Very unprofessional.
