We had Logan and Sebastian help us today. We mostly just wanted them to help us move the large stuff as it's just me and my wife. Instead what we got was our whole house loaded up in 2 hours! While they did show up on time and do the job they were paid to do, their complete lack of professionalism alone will prevent me from ever recommending this company. First, when the owner called me to set up the time, he was completely rude. Correcting me on the size of the trailer that I had rented from another company, he insisted twice that I was wrong. I eventually had to blow him off in mid conversation because of it. Second, he would not acknowledge the charity that I was wanting half my stuff delivered to. I had to force the issue. They were hired to load my trailer and take half my stuff to a charity that I chose. This was a very simple move for them to complete. But when I was telling them where I wanted my stuff donated, they requested that I give them the donations for their own charity. While this charity is a worthy charity, it has nothing to do with their company, just someone that works there deals with it. They were so insistent and repeated themselves over and over about it that I felt obligated. Very unprofessional. read more

I was completely impressed by these guys. I called them when the mover I had scheduled totally stood me up. I was in a real bind on a Saturday morning and they explained what their schedule for the day was and said they could get to me mid afternoon. They called and kept me informed on their ETA. They showed up about 2:30pm and stayed until the job was complete at 8:45pm. The four man crew was polite, overly accommodating and hard workers. This is the second time we used Joe's Moving Services, and we chose them primarily for price (though they did up us $50 from what they charged last year). The movers showed up on time, worked quickly, and were polite and professional. My only two complaints are that I'd called ahead to make sure they could reconnect the washer and dryer and was told they could, but on arrival they said they couldn't for liability reasons. Also, a playhouse wouldn't fit easily through the fence and so they left it in the side yard, which meant that we had to struggle a bit to lift it over (and under the eave of the house) after they left. They got the bulk of a pretty difficult job done, though, and we'd definitely consider using them again. read more

This is the worst company that you could possibly use to move you!!! I paid for two hours of their time and they stayed for maybe an hour and a half 30 minutes of that time they were on the phone complaining to their boss that there were aquariums that they could not move. Yes some did still have dirt in them, their boss said they had to be emptied. So my son emptied them and they said they still could not move them! Plus they left a heavy bookshelf on the landing between two apartments! NEVER NEVER NEVER hire this company to move you. Plus they did not even know how to pack a truck we had to redo the whole thing!!!! read more

I was incredibly disappointed with Joe's Moving Service. We scheduled the movers (through the Uhaul website) to load our Uhaul truck over a 4-hour period. First of all, I called the company after the movers were 15 minutes late to confirm that I was expecting them at the right time (for an 11am appointment to load our moving truck). A half an hour later, I received a response that "the movers were caught up at their previous job and it could be 2pm before they would arrive to your apartment." At 2:30pm - 3.5 hours after our scheduled start time - an employee called to say "we've been running behind schedule today, but we'll be at your apartment soon." I quickly realized that if I hadn't called at 11:15am to reconfirm our appointment time, I would never have received a phone call to explain that the movers would be late - by 3.5 hours. As soon as the movers arrived, I could tell they were uncomfortable. I quickly received a phone call from the general manager of Joe's Moving Service to explain that I had apparently booked the wrong job type (for a smaller apartment than we had), which was based on the type of moving truck that I rented. I had rented a 26' moving truck - the largest that Uhaul could offer us. I was baffled that the movers would expect a smaller load (based on my uhaul truck rental) when the truck is advertised to move a 4 bedroom house. It was then brought to my attention that the company would need to call in additional movers to complete the job - at my cost. The general manager also claimed that I would need to pay an additional fee for having our piano moved - which was in fact not a piano, but a keyboard on a stand. The original job was scheduled to load the truck from 11am-3pm. However in the end, the job took from 2:30pm-8:30pm with the addition of 2 extra movers, unexpected extra charges at my cost, and a manager that clearly doesn't understand service recovery. After all of the trouble, the manager could do nothing more than "apologize extensively for what had happened." After our long distance move (1300+ miles), we opened the back of the truck to find how it had been loaded by Joe's Moving Service. My wife's antique trunk had been loaded on the bottom, with extremely heavy boxes stacked on top. Our office desk was loaded side-ways on top of our dryer (which was loaded unevenly on the wheel well of the truck), leaving extensive dents on the dryer and scratches on the desk. All of our boxes full of heavy books were loaded as a top layer over everything else in the truck. A box that had large print "FRAGILE, TOP BOX ONLY" was loaded on the bottom of a stack of heavy boxes. There were other numerous instances of reckless loading techniques. I would absolutely never recommend anyone to hire Joe's Moving Service. read more
