If you are needing them to do their most basic job, as in rent a moving truck. I HIGHLY suggest going anywhere else for a more dependable company. I made a reservation for a 26' truck, I was given a pick up time and a date for our move across Texas. Two days before our move date, I get a call that they don't have a truck available. My next available option from a U-Haul Representative (good ol' Tammy) was to drive 2 hours away to pick up a truck. I will never be using U-Haul again for their lack of communication at the reservation, not knowing their inventory and returns (or even worse knowing and still promising a truck). The worse place to rent any equipment from. Zach was very help, the ignorance and pride of Salvador and his brother is beyond belief. They take their sweet ass time to make things happen. Blocking the only exit of the transport was ignorant not having the keys to move it, only shows the lack of intelligence and common sense. I had to do a last minute (second?) rental from U-Haul after trying to get a truck on a budget (I see what I did) only to have the first one break down 10 minutes after leaving the parking lot. I booked with this U-Haul literally 5 minutes before arriving and it took less than 10 minutes to have the key and out the door. Very courteous and efficient staff. The truck ran great from Lubbock to Dallas, highly recommend this location. read more

I really wish they had a competitor this place lost my reservation and had no trucks so I had to wait for a smaller one (only option they said) then they shortens the time for the same price. Horrible place. Then we called the customer service and they were extremely rude. They told us "well you don't understand other peoples problems. My husband and I rented a truck for six hours. Upon returning the truck, we had forgot a bag that we had left behind the seat. We spoke with Salvador who was patient, articulate, and dedicated. A regular sleuth he was as he combed through the camera footage and called up employees and the customer that had the truck right after we did. When it was all said and done, he found the backpack and returned it to us. he spent a couple of hours on it and that really means something to us. read more

There were hardly any options at all for special sized boxes and furniture pads in Hobbs, NM, so my husband and I decided to make a quick trip to Lubbock back in July of this year. This U-Haul has all the supplies you could ever need. Their supplies were well-stocked and organized. The employees were super helpful and genuinely nice. A female employee also helped us load our vehicle when it was all said & done! Also, we noticed that this U-Haul seemed like an extremely convenient location for drop-offs and to pick up equipment. The parking lot is a decent size and the pavement wasn't all screwed up like some of the other U-hauls we had been to. I recommend anyone moving to or out of the Lubbock area to go through this U-haul for moving supplies. I cannot account for equipment rentals and customer service pertaining to them. I paid for a hitch on my sons vehicle so that he could move back to Florida. We received a 11:00 appointment that turned into an all day event. My son is now in Alabama getting the hitch tightened down. The bolts holding the hitch to his vehicle, have come loose. Thank God in heaven that this hitch didn't release from the vehicle and cause a terrible accident. You have to do better uhaul! read more

I called about filling a propane tank and was quotrd a price by a woman wbo works there. Upon arrival, the only person qualified to fill tanks was doing nothing and took so long to come out to fill the tank that I had to go back in and ask him to come out. When he filled the tank, the price was significantly higher than what the woman had said, so I went back in to talk to her. Even though she was the only female working in the store and I had talked to her 10 minutes earlier, she said she hadn't spoken to anyone all day. read more

I got a call before my scheduled pickup time that the truck needed to be cleaned. Got there at 2:30 instead of 2 as scheduled because that's when they said it would be ready. When I got there I was told the renter before me wasn't back yet. Continued to wait for 30 minutes. Staff was nice enough. My only complaint is the dishonesty. The only waiting area available was some rickety chairs I was afraid would break underneath me, but I wouldn't expect more from a moving company I guess. read more

In May of 2014 my 78year old father went to rent a trailer from this business. They would not rent him a trailer explaining they were waiting for tech students to rent them. My dad then had to drive to Clovis New Mexico to obtain his trailer. What kind of business model is this. Avoid this location! Too bad I have to give it at least a star! read more

We ordered a 20 foot truck that was suppose to arrive at 8 am for pick up. We get there on time and no truck. Two hours later still no truck. We go to the main office trying to find our truck and are told that they'll send a message to the traffic dude but can't help us until he responds, so we're just left standing there waiting for a message that never came, so we just left and used a friend's trailer for all our stuff. Use Peneske instead kids. The dude at the pick up place was nice though and he rescues cute dogs, and yelled at the main office for us so thanks dude you're a cool guy. read more

On June 11, 2012 I went to the U-Haul location in Lubbock (I think it is at Q and 34th). My wife and I were in the parking lot looking at the trailers to decide which we needed. A female employee came bursting out the door. She had seen us from inside and offerred us assistance. From start to finish she was extremely helpful and proffessional. She threw those trailers around better than someone twice her size. She is an asset to the company and in my mind she should be on the fast track to management. I don't often take the time to communicate my appreciation but her proffessionalism and courtesy was exceptional. I made it a point to write down her name to notify you later. The employee was helping another customer, which was fine, but never once acknowledged us or even stopped to say they would be with us momentarily. Walked by us multiple times, no words. I reserved my truck weeks ago. I called because I had not heard from U-haul to confirm. When I called they confirmed my reservation and said there were trucks available and that they would call soon to schedule a pick-up time. I got a call the next day only 3 days before we were supposed to move and they said they had no trucks. They found me a truck 2 1/2 hours away and their solution was to knock off $100 to help with gas. $100 is not going to pay for gas there and back in a car and gas to get the truck there. How ridiculous. When pressed, U-haul said they don't guarantee trucks because "if someone comes in that day and needs a truck we give it to them." Even though they KNEW this would leave a customer who made their reservation weeks in advance without a truck and possibly without a way to move. "We can't do anymore for you." Please be aware of this is you are going to rent from U-haul. I wouldn't use U-haul again if they paid me. read more
