They did not provide an estimate in writing,…read morewhich I should have known was a sign that they are not reputable, but we went ahead with them because they provided a good estimate and we knew someone who used them for a move several years ago. This was a huge mistake. We had a terrible experience with them including major delays, $7k in damage to our belongings, lying about costs, and more. During the move, they kept asking us for more money and making it seem like we had to pay in order for the move to happen. They claimed that the truck we needed to rent would cost over $4200, when it cost $1500. They committed multiple violations of DOT regulations for interstate moves -- they did not provide an inventory or any paperwork, they did not weigh our goods, etc. They treat employees terribly: they did not give workers details of the trip in advance, they did not give them adequate money for fuel and hotels, they had them driving without breaks, etc. We heard one of the managers, Dawn, berating her employees (who were working hard and not doing anything wrong) over the phone while he was unloading our items. At one point, as our items had been delayed almost two days and the arrival of the trucks kept getting delayed further and further, we were sitting in our empty home in fear that our things would never arrive. They did eventually show up, but they overcharged us to the tune of about $10,000. When we raised our complaints about the poor service received and reported damages, Dawn's first response was "I'm out of the office for the rest of this week." By that time, we knew we couldn't trust her. She has now stopped responding to us. We will be reporting them to the FMCSA, the IRS, and anyone else we can, but what we most want is to save anyone else from throwing their money away. Do not believe a word they say. Hire literally anyone else.

It's difficult enough packing your entire house into one semi trailer much less in just a few days for a transit of well over 1,000 miles (destination = Los Angeles, CA). This service center was very accommodating, though. They stated that they make drop-offs and pick-ups only on Tuesday and Thursday in Hobbs. So regardless of what the representative may tell you on the phone, they do not know clearly how all of the service centers operate. TIP: Call the service centers that you know will be handling your shipment as soon as posible to get all the details that you can about arrival and departure times. They cannot give you exact times, but estimates. I was very satisfied with my dealings with the Lubbock ABF service center. They did exactly what they promised. They also shared their suggestions with me about what to do when we arrived in L.A. (even though I had already read over this information via email and the ABF website). Total cost for using their services for the entire trip: $2,669 (11,200 lbs.). Compare that to the $10,000 ESTIMATE that I received from a full service moving company. I paid for extra manpower I didn't request, extra time which accounted for there stop to the grocery store between houses and snack breaks while loading where I watched multiple times then sit in my driveway and eat Takis. I understand having to make a living but I can't help but feel heavily swindled. I would just be very cautious hiring Tough Guys Moving. At first, Kenyon was quick to respond to all of my questions and provided me with what seemed to be a fair and reasonable price for loading services. Prior to the move, he asked me to purchase extra moving blankets from U-Haul, which I had no problem buying. However, he failed to mention in his initial quote that he charges $35 per item to disassemble, which I learned the day before my scheduled move. The day of the move, Kenyon arrived somewhat timely (maybe a few minutes late) and asked for a walk through of what we needed his guys to move. We gave him a list of fragile items. In this list, we included a crib, washer and dryer, and a custom dining room set (table and chairs). While Kenyon and his employees were loading those items into the box truck, my wife noticed that they had not wrapped any of the items in the blankets that Kenyon had directed me to purchase. We then asked Kenyon if he was sure those items would be safe, and he assured us that each item would be fine. Upon arrival at our new home, I open the back of the truck to find a shattered mirror, scratches along the sides of our washer and dryer, scraped dining room chairs, a cracked drawer in one of our dressers, and scratches all over the crib. Additionally, we had to replace the washer and dryer hoses as his employee punctured both the hot and cold water hoses when disconnecting the washer and dryer. After discovering the damage and prior to posting this review, I attempted to reach out to Kenyon, but have yet to receive a response. I recommend you go with one of the more reputable moving companies in Lbk. Looking back, my wife and I wish we would have paid the additional $30-$40 to have Little Guys Movers load the truck. I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. Lesson learned. Lastly, I hope this review serves as a learning experience for Kenyon. Ghosting your customers immediately after rendering services is not a sustainable business practice.

They took an appropriate amount of time, not so rushed that something would get broken and not so slow that they were trying to extend their time for pay. They wrapped my large furniture in blankets then plastic and it keeps those pieces from being damaged. Nothing was broken during the move. They were polite and efficient.
