My…read moreboyfriends truck overheats sometimes due to cooling issues in the motor and we had just gotten taco bell (right next to this place) and it started messing up so we had to pull into the parking lot and open the hood. We only sat there for a few minutes but in those few minutes a man that worked there came out and asked if he could help in any way and offered his assistance very kindly. We thought he was going to tell us to leave his parking lot but he didn't. A couple minutes later another man came out and offered to help or buy us coolant to help. With all that being said, it was a stressful situation and they made us feel safe and not hopeless. If you need a storage service, use these people.

My guys loaded the trailer and drove across town to the location Affordable Storage told us to. And LRC would not allow them to dump a trailer. So with a full trailer they had no option but to go to the waste management center. NOT THE CITY DUMP Affordable Storage told us WE COULD NOT GO TO. So Affordable Storage charged an extra $125 for this. It was not the city dump. I find this to be a crooked way of making money! First don't tell someone they can do something and it not be true. Secondly if there had been damage to the trailer I would I understand. But there is no damage. Just crooked business practices. I will give them a 3 star because they were nice, the trailer was nice. But being mislead is not acceptable. Don't take their word is my advice.

The owners are both very kind and kept in contact to make sure my unit was still being used, so my auto -payments wouldn't continue without my knowledge. Anytime I called with questions, they were quick to answer the phone or get back to me if I left a message. My roommate and I moved all of my stuff out of my unit at 9:30pm one night, and by 9am the next morning they had called to thank me for my time using them for my storage needs. It's difficult enough packing your entire house into one semi trailer much less in just a few days for a transit of well over 1,000 miles (destination = Los Angeles, CA). This service center was very accommodating, though. They stated that they make drop-offs and pick-ups only on Tuesday and Thursday in Hobbs. So regardless of what the representative may tell you on the phone, they do not know clearly how all of the service centers operate. TIP: Call the service centers that you know will be handling your shipment as soon as posible to get all the details that you can about arrival and departure times. They cannot give you exact times, but estimates. I was very satisfied with my dealings with the Lubbock ABF service center. They did exactly what they promised. They also shared their suggestions with me about what to do when we arrived in L.A. (even though I had already read over this information via email and the ABF website). Total cost for using their services for the entire trip: $2,669 (11,200 lbs.). Compare that to the $10,000 ESTIMATE that I received from a full service moving company. I highly recommend ABF to anyone who is mindful of their budget. Review #75
