They were able to schedule a next-day, emergent load-out for me, provided me a realistic price-estimate for my belongings, and a written confirmation of the appointment (had a 16-ft PODS container parked outside of my new apartment). Michael gave me a courtesy call 15 minutes before arrival (their arrival was right on time). I was very impressed and a bit surprised at the speed of their service. I hired three guys to carry 1200 square feet worth of heavy, wood furniture, boxes and kitchen appliances up three flights of stairs. I was in the military for 10 years and conducted many moves; I've never had a move that took less than five hours to complete. These guys did it in under four. Do I recommend Little Guys? ABSOLUTELY. What was quoted at less than $400 turned into an invoice for $1000. When I called the staff was polite and explained fees for extra men, extra hours and so on which supported the $1000 bill. I have nothing negative to say about the service or staff themselves but I would be lying if I didn't say it felt extremely slick. I paid for extra manpower I didn't request, extra time which accounted for there stop to the grocery store between houses and snack breaks while loading where I watched multiple times then sit in my driveway and eat Takis. I understand having to make a living but I can't help but feel heavily swindled. I would just be very cautious hiring Tough Guys Moving. If you do, just know you will pay a minimum of double possibly triple your quote.

They took an appropriate amount of time, not so rushed that something would get broken and not so slow that they were trying to extend their time for pay. They wrapped my large furniture in blankets then plastic and it keeps those pieces from being damaged. Nothing was broken during the move. They were polite and efficient. It's difficult enough packing your entire house into one semi trailer much less in just a few days for a transit of well over 1,000 miles (destination = Los Angeles, CA). This service center was very accommodating, though. They stated that they make drop-offs and pick-ups only on Tuesday and Thursday in Hobbs. So regardless of what the representative may tell you on the phone, they do not know clearly how all of the service centers operate. TIP: Call the service centers that you know will be handling your shipment as soon as posible to get all the details that you can about arrival and departure times. They cannot give you exact times, but estimates. I was very satisfied with my dealings with the Lubbock ABF service center. They did exactly what they promised. They also shared their suggestions with me about what to do when we arrived in L.A. (even though I had already read over this information via email and the ABF website). Total cost for using their services for the entire trip: $2,669 (11,200 lbs.). Compare that to the $10,000 ESTIMATE that I received from a full service moving company. I found Soldier Strong Moving through yelp, asked for a quote and got one from multiple companies,…read moreI chose Soldier Strong moving because moving requires hard work, organization, and discipline, something ALL military people know about - Vince initially contacted me and then Vince communicated with me throughout the planning of the move and provided a very fair quote that he stuck to. The day of the move he sent me a text (my preferred communication) to let me know that they were working and would be arriving soon. When Vince arrived he walked through all of the rooms and did a quick survey, told me the plan, and started working - he and Brandon had the place packed up in about 25 mins. they packed the truck very organized and arranged everything securely, making sure that cushions and mattresses never touched the walls or floor of the inside of the truck. We followed him to the new location and they unloaded the truck very quickly, after the unloading, Vince and Brandon even helped move a few things around to make our next move easier. Will definitely use again - made it so easy to move - and can't imagine a better experience. We hired Affordable Moving to move some of the larger items from one home to another and this job…read morewas clearly to much for the two movers they sent us. They broke the bottom of our massage chair and ripped the leather. They damaged our mattresses by dragging them, they scratched paint off the walls of the house by hitting them with furniture. It was a nightmare. Oh and good luck getting them to replace your damaged items. I've had to call them repeatedly, each time being told they are working on it and will call us back to which never happens. Finally today when I called, the lady said she wasn't good at looking things up so she had me find the item weight of our badly damaged chair (over $2,000 chair) and told me that she would write me a check for $205. I should have known better when they pulled up in a wrecked truck with a dented up trailer. Yes this company might be cheaper than the others but there's a reason and you pay for way more than you get. They advertise that they are responsible for your items..... that's NOT true. This company is a joke!
