We hired Affordable Moving to move some of the larger items from one home to another and this job was clearly to much for the two movers they sent us. They broke the bottom of our massage chair and ripped the leather. They damaged our mattresses by dragging them, they scratched paint off the walls of the house by hitting them with furniture. It was a nightmare. Oh and good luck getting them to replace your damaged items. I've had to call them repeatedly, each time being told they are working on it and will call us back to which never happens. Finally today when I called, the lady said she wasn't good at looking things up so she had me find the item weight of our badly damaged chair (over $2,000 chair) and told me that she would write me a check for $205. I should have known better when they pulled up in a wrecked truck with a dented up trailer. Yes this company might be cheaper than the others but there's a reason and you pay for way more than you get. They advertise that they are responsible for your items..... that's NOT true. These guys were great. We had them move our three bedroom/ two bath house and they were quick and efficient. They brought three guys and took about four hours to load the truck and unload in our new house. They are fast and efficient. I would highly recommend these guys. The only thing was they didn't bring a big enough truck to take everything but they took the important stuff. I think that was just a miscommunication, definitely was not the guys fault. Bottom line they are affordable, quick and polite. I would use them again. read more

Eric and Tyler were amazing unloading my uhaul! Very professional and careful with all the furniture and boxes. They unloaded quickly and put together the mattress frames and some other furniture. Scheduled them last minute and arrived the same day within an hour. read more

First time using movers. I ended up choosing Affordable Moving because every time I called, the representatives I talked to were very nice and answered all my questions. They called to confirm the day before. When the movers arrived (on time), there was three of them and they were very efficient! Movers were friendly and asked where I wanted things, rather than just throwing things in the apartment and moving on. Movers wrapped all my furniture and everything got transported safely. To move all the furniture and boxes in my 1:1 apartment, both units upstairs, was about three hours. I would recommend Affordable Moving to anyone! read more

While I did not use this company for moving, I did inquire about properties they rent out. The owner Cheri owns a rental business in which she operates in the same building her moving company. I toured a house and was interested in, and was told I would need to fill out an application form, but that I would need to meet with the owner, that she wants to meet possible tenants before having them fully fill out a complete application. The next day I met with the owner, and she told me the issue with my application is that I have dogs. I told her that they were emotional support animals. Legally she cannot decline me this property because of that, but she looked me in the face and said "I don't care. You'll have to look at our other properties we have available that are pet friendly." I later explained to her that my boyfriend and I were planning on moving in together ( my bf is in another city far away, I was touring places for both of us, hence why he could not be there to deal with her) and she said to me " well, we could put just your name on the lease, so that when you get tired of him you can kick him out". Completely inappropriate. I am not interested in renting a home from her as she was so blatantly disrespectful. read more

Took 5 1/2 hours ($620) for 2 professional movers to move a regular amount of furniture and boxes for a 1250 sq ft house. I could have done it myself in that amount of time. Told them it would probably take 2 1/2 hours, 3 max, and was quoted about $300. Watched movers taking their sweet time as my bill went through the roof. Atleast they didn't break or steal anything... Id like to start off with I (the husband) was not able to be there due to out of state for work so that is why we decided to hire a moving company, this was the company the apartment complex recommended. First mistake - Recommendations and not reviewing the moving company If there was a possible way to give a ZERO or negative star that is where id start and work my way down. Hands down the worst customer service ever. I was told that 4 hrs would be enough to move my apartment from one building to the next on the same property. Second mistake - Believing a moving company As for the move, the movers very polite, showed up on time but moved very slow. Even with wrapping my furniture they still managed to damage parts. After 4 hrs and not even half of our stuff in the truck I called the company and they said WE need to tell them how much time they have. What? I have to tell them? Arent you the boss and your the one that told us 4 hrs??? So after my wife had to tell that we had been told (4 hrs) and budgeted for they actually seemed to shut up and work. They had the truck moved unloaded and everything set up within 45mins. 5hrs total to move half (couch, bed, 2 night stands, couple boxes and end table) After she was given the bill and how much for how little was dome i (the husband) contacted the business, the female on the other line would not budge, would not apologize and said it was OUR fault that we didnt tell them they only had 4 hrs. We still have boxes, TVs and other furniture in the apartment that we need moved. What a waste of money and time. Now we will need to hire another company to finish, if i cant make it back in time. Top it off the female called me wife back and said if we cant afford them we cant afford anyone, if your husband isnt there why is he involved (if i was there i would of had everything moved in 4 hrs) and then since i told her i was going to have the bill put on hold until we could figure this out she came back and threatened she would sue us for 3x's the cost.......customer service at its finest. read more

I have used this company before a couple of years ago and used them for our latest move in April 2021. There was a slight hitch at the beginning - two days before the move, I called the office to check that the guys were still coming. The lady on the phone sounded a little confused, went away to check something and came back saying "Yes, we are looking forward to helping you with your move". On moving day, about 30 minutes before we expected the team, they called saying they had been assigned two jobs for 9am. I said we were ready to go and the guy in charge of that team said he would call the other party and see if they would swop with us. He asked if we had received a call from the office confirming everything the day before but we had not - I assumed because I had called to confirm with them. However, minutes later he called to say they were on their way. Three guys came and they worked well emptying one house and then driving to the new place. We asked that all the boxes be put into the garage and then furniture placed in the respective rooms. The move was completed in just over two hours. Ask for Jeremy, Seth and Kyle. I've used Affordable Moving at least 5 times and I've had the best experience every time! The movers have been so amazing each move and make sure that my things are where I want them and help me set up my furniture. They moved me this weekend and I only called 3 days before and they were able to get me in and when I wanted. They've always been on time and very efficient while working on my moves. I also love that they send a thank you card after every move and also send Christmas cards! I will ALWAYS use Affordable Moving for any future moves I may have! read more

Scheduled them to help me move, we sold our house and had to be out that day and they canceled one hour before they were supposed to be there because of snow. Called multiple other moving companies and they were still working. We had to go rent a truck and move everything ourselves. Don't ever use these people! read more

I used two moving companies in moving into a house and out of a house. I moved from an apartment and two years later moved back to it. Different companies each time and same move with exactly the same items just reversed. This company was the second move when I went from the house back to the apartment and it cost me TWICE THE PRICE. The first move was half the time and half the price and I wasn't as boxed up and ready with the first movers. I regret loosing the name of the first company and paid for it, literally. I did keep this companies name so I wouldn't make that mistake again. read more

Used this company on Friday. While the two guys who helped were very polite, they failed to get my couch through the front door and did a good bit of damage to my $1500 couch. It took me and a very kind LPD officer 5 minutes to get the couch through the front door after removing the legs. read more

They are AWFUL!!! the boys who showed up were inexperienced and lazy!! It took 6 hours to move a 2 bedroom duplex with minimal furniture and all the boxes in one area and they STILL did not get everything!!!! I was quoted 3-4 hours which is what it took 2 middle age men to load and unload it 1 month earlier!! The owner is rude and hateful and unprofessional!! When I called to complain at 5 hours into this she would not listen to my complaint and accussed me of wanting a service for free also stating if I only wanted 4 hours of service I should have stopped them at 4 hours!! Now how IGNORANT is that!!! At 4 hours they only had about 1/2 of the truck loaded!!! This company is awful and I will tell every one this!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!! read more

This was absolutely the worst experience we have ever had with a moving company. They showed up an hour and a half late even though we made an appointment for 1:00 PM ahead of time. They did not call to tell us they would be late. We had to call them to find out why they had not shown up on time. They said they would be there by 2:00 PM. Then one of the crew called us at 1:45 PM and said they had just finished the other job and were going to grab a snack and would be coming over. They finally showed up at 2:35 PM. Then they took their time loading. We already had the beds taken apart so they only had to load them and it still took them 2 1/2 hours just to load up. I informed the lady on the phone that the new apartment was on the second floor when I made the appointment. She said nothing about a fee because one location was on the second floor. One of the crew informed us that we would be charged an extra $25 because the apartment was on the second floor. As I write this they are unloading. We are going to help unload to try to keep the cost down. Needless to say we will not be using Affordable Movers again! read more
