The newest brewery to hit South Jersey, Bullhide Brewery just had its grand opening in December 2025. It's cowboy themed, making it one of the more unique breweries in the Garden State. If you thought New Jersey was all oil refineries, turnpikes, Sopranos and densely packed suburbs, guess again. Bullhide joins the famous Cowtown Rodeo across the street and the Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters shop next door to bring a little slice of Texas to Salem County.
It's out in a rural area, so plenty of parking. The taproom itself is a huge open space, with dark wood beamed high ceilings punctuated by antler chandeliers. Other cowboy themed touches abound all over the room. There is a very spacious bar where you have to order your beer and you can bring it to one of many tables all over the room.
Currently they only offer six beers on tap with plans to add seltzers soon. A blonde ale, session pale ale, west coast IPA, pale ale, porter, and something called a common, a beer style I'd never heard of. Flights are $12. Between the both of us, my girlfriend and I tried everything on the menu. The beer was competently brewed and we agreed it was good, but nothing blew us away.
The place is dog friendly, and there were several dogs there during our visit on a Friday afternoon. It was decently crowded so nice vibes. Nothing really stood out to me about the service. There is a huge grass lawn out back which I imagine will be nice in warmer weather. They offer a discount if you pay in cash.
They also have a mug club membership for $300 + $150 annual renewal fee which strikes me as awfully high compared to mug clubs at other NJ breweries.
Overall a nice space. Clean, well decorated, decent beer. You can tell a lot of time, effort, resources and money went into setting it all up. We live about 45 minutes away but would definitely come back sometime. read more
