I really like Zed's. I live 25 minutes away so I don't get here as often as I'd like, but every time it is a pleasant experience. Every beer I've had has always been competently brewed and has ranged from good to great. Never had a bad beer here, and my God I've had quite a few NJ beers over the years. They don't distribute to bars/restaurants/liquor stores to the best of my knowledge, but they have a wide variety of beers canned and ready to go in their beer fridge. Most recently came here on a Thursday night in August. It was about half full, so not dead but not obnoxiously crowded either. Enjoyed a flight while watching the Phillies (they lost, alas...), and bought two four packs to bring home with me - the backyard copper cream ale and the golden peach ale - which cost $25. Overall a place that flies under the radar in the vast NJ brewing scene, but nice place to hang out with solid beer. read more

I've passed this place many times before but finally decided to stop in. My friend and I each ordered a flight. I got Jersey blonde, blood orange copper, pale 42 and sour pineapple (left to right). The blood orange was the best. My friend got the Berry Chaos which was the best one we tried. The place was pretty empty which was nice so we could relax and hear each other talk. There is a nice outdoor area and lots of board games to play. It looks like they host trivia nights and game nights which look so fun. I definitely look forward to coming back on one of those nights. read more

MARLTON: after many people telling us to visit Zed's, we finally did and loved it! Well behaved dogs are allowed inside the tasting room and there is also an outside beer garden. Over 15 beautiful beers are on tap, along with hard seltzers, radlers, and shandies. You can bring your own food and there is an Italian spot right in the same center, Organico Pizza. We went for the entertainment and left with a smile on our faces! The beers were a bit on the light side, particularly for an IPA, but I found it tasty and crisp; I stuck with the Hazy IPA. The bartenders, which I feel like were the owners, were very helpful and fun. If you wanted to know about a beer or cider, they talked about it like it was there's...mainly because it was!, and we're happy to let you try anything on the menu. Inside is well lit, and easy to see the performers, which by the way, The Mike & Shanna duo were amazing. They played originals, which I loved, and covered some classics as well as some deep cuts from the 90s! I can't wait to see them perform again in June. Geoff & Lori, and their team, are the absolute best people to know while enjoying one of their amazing craft beers. I'm so glad to have stumbled upon their brewery and visit often. The strawberry shortcake was the original brew that sealed the deal and everything I've had since then always hits my taste buds the right way. Their space is welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing. Great spot to meet up with friends and family, or just kick back after a long work day. I also love that they make a variety of craft beers because you'll find sours, lagers, fruited, seltzers, IPAs, radlers and more. Plus they host some fun events throughout the year. They make it all in house! One of the owners was so sweet and gave me and my friends a tour, plus answered all of our questions. Me and my girls are NOT beer drinkers at all, so they took their time to show us something's about each offering. My one advice here is to call in advance and get on the waitlist! My boyfriend and I came here around 4pm on a Saturday and luckily there were 2 tables open but soon this place was packed and the wait was around 30-45 min. We got two flights and also the strawberry shortcake shandy. My favorites were the green apple hard cider and Philly sour. My boyfriend really enjoyed the black is beautiful because of the smoky flavor. They clean and disinfect the table and chairs in between each party. The staff is friendly, helpful, and polite. Plus there is a wide selection of drinks to choose from. Will definitely be returning for more flights and to bring some of our favorites home with us. read more

We were recommended to check out Zed's after trying one of their beers at a jewelry store. When we arrived we approached the bar area which they offer to give us a mini tour, my partner wanted to hear about it. We then decided on getting two flights to try out their flavors. Everyone was friendly here so that's always a plus but it is a little small with not much seating so we had to stand at one of the high tops. You can bring your own food and I believe there's a nearby pizzeria. They also have board games so anyone can grab and play. So, my favorite part about breweries are when they are DOG Friendly!! And this place definitely allows pups in! Their beers are decent. Nothing really stood out to us but we also would be willing to go back since it seems like they have a few seasonal options as well. read more

A fun brewery with ample indoor and outdoor seating! I've been here twice and both times have had a blast. Lots of different beers to try! Honestly I'm not super knowledgeable about beers, but everything tastes great here and the staff is very patient with recommendations for noobs such as myself. They do flights too, and the flights are huge! They also have a lot of outdoor seating (for these covid times). And as the weather has gotten colder, they've added heaters too. There's a 90 minute limit for the indoor seating. They don't serve food but you're allowed to order to the store or bring your own food. We ordered a papa John's pie here with no issues. I will say that this place does get pretty crowded. I came around 1pm on Sunday last time with my friend and the place already had a lot of people. So depending on when your planning a visit, perhaps look into the waitlist! Bathrooms are super clean as well. No complaints here. Friendly staff, great beers, and always a fun time. read more

There was outdoor seating available as well with outdoor heaters for those wanting that option! Brews They do typically have flights but due to being short staffed, they couldn't do a whole flight but if you wanted 4oz pours, they would do that for you. They had some interesting takes on a few of their brews called Shandies which combined their one of their brews plus some other flavors like orange purée to make some great combinations. One was Zed's Blood Orange Copper Cream Shandy and it was delicious! That was combining their Copper Cream Ale with some orange purée! Easy to drink with good citrusy flavors! Love when breweries do something a little different and unique to them! Another drink i tried was the Zed's Momma's Strawberry Shortcake which was a tad too sweet to drink more than a pint butttt the flavors worked (strawberry and vanilla) and it was still a great brew to sip on! They had other different brews to try.. few IPAs, a sour ale, Copper Cream Ale and more! All in all... located in a great location in Marlton. We brought a decent sized group to watch the union game on a Saturday night. The brewery was full of union fans so it was a great vibe. Everyone who worked there seemed super cool and over accommodating. I'm not much for beer but they offered some good seltzers too on tap. Most patrons brought in food from places nearby as well. The only flaw was that there are only three TVs, where more could really add to the game watching experience. Regardless, I'm excited to come back for another game soon. read more

I recently gave a surprise birthday party for my husband at Zed's, on Maple Ave, in Marlton, NJ. It was amazing. The atmosphere was casual but with a warm and inviting set up. It has a this very cool bench that runs half way around the room with pillows, so comfy! The bar itself is beautiful in it's simplicity. It is the perfect space to place cheeseboards, large chafing dishes, salads, crockpots and much, much more on. I rented out the entire place for a very reasonable price. The rental also includes a quaint outside space. The best part of the entire experience was Geoff, the owner. He is an easy going man, who gives wonderful suggestions. When we were setting up, Geoff helped us do everything from carrying in the food to putting nuts in bowls for the tables. You will not find a better venue host! I had a lot of fun at Zed's Beer. It is always a treat for me to come to Marlton because there are so many better establishments there, from shopping to grocery stores to restaurants. Zed was the owner, Geoff's great-grandfather who brewed beer in Hungary around 1900. This brewery is an homage to him and that glorious age. The beers are advertised as approachable, and some of them can be appreciated from the friend who comes along with you who doesn't even like beer, all the way up to the snobbiest aficionado. I actually found many of the beers to be multi-layered and quite sophisticated. The location is very central. I was easily able to stop there driving down Route 70 from Toms River to Philly. The tasting room is beautiful, and the tour is integrated into your entrance. read more

I love this little gem! Stopped in one Friday night with friends and had such a great time. The folks that work here are so friendly and charming, one can tell immediately they take great pride in what they do here. Enter, get a tour, sample some beers --- pick one. West Coast IPA for me, then go chat with someone, bring a friend or make a new one. The vibe in here is awesome, so is the beer. They don't serve food, so don't come on an empty stomach and think you'll be able to order off the menu, they only sell beer and a few T-shirt's with their name on it. What else is there to say? I love having this local brewery is in my neighborhood. I am not the biggest craft beer drinking but there is certainly a beer here capable of satisfying any palette. When you walk in you're greeted by the employees. Due to state law, you have to take a short tour of the brewery. I had a beermosa and a golden peach. Both were great! You can bring your own food so I brought some lunch with me. It's a laidback environment with great bartenders and board games to play. Apparently the state of New Jersey requires breweries to give a tour prior to serving you; my "state mandated tour" was brief and interesting. Lastly, the beers were quite good. My husband and I visited Zed's for a beer after hearing a lot of positive feedback about the selection. I had a flight of In Ireland, Black and Gold, Copper Cream, and on the Liffey. By far, I loved the Black and Gold the most, but the Copper Cream was also excellent. The beers here were supreme. I also like the space, but it's a little small. We got there super early, so we were able to get a table. As we stayed it started to get really crowded and people were standing around by the table, which drives me crazy. I wish it was a little roomier, but it seems like a great started location. Service was good, but the guy behind the counter seemed a little flippant. There was a larger party nearby that he seemed very concerned with. I felt like we were a little secondary to them, which is the worst. Still, Zed's is great and definitely worth a try, just get there early. read more

Zed's makes average beer. I tried 8 tasters and none of the flavors really stood out to me. I read a couple of paragraphs on the menu about their plan for the beer they make, and it seems like they don't want to make anything with too high of an alcohol content. It seems like they aren't really taking any risks with the beer that they are brewing, and everything tasted sort of middle of the road. Not something that I will make a point to go back to, but I also wouldn't stay away from it if I was in the neighborhood. I went here recently and enjoyed my visit. Jeff the owner is a very nice guy. I enjoyed talking to him about beer and the brewing process. He's creative with some of the beers. There's one beer that tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The facility isn't very big but it's very clean and has large windows to look out while enjoying some beers. There are board games to play while hanging out with friends. The only thing I didn't like was that some of my beers had a lot of head so I lost out on some beer. Real top notch, beer is very solid. Went here both for the opening and the soft opening and was able to enjoy all the beer. For the opening I was able to snag myself a first pour limited cup for the opening for 10$ and a fill up of a vanilla porter which was solid. My favorite beer though was the beermosa, which is a light beer with a very fruity taste. Looked like they had growlers ready and I might have to stop by to fill mine up. Staff and owners are awesome and super friendly and service will only get better as they get there flow down. We visited Zed's this past weekend and it was really enjoyable - the building is divided between the brewing "equipment" and tables for guests plus the bar. The open air vibe really worked, making you feel like you're part of the brewery. Everyone working was so friendly - they showed us where they had games, including a few children's toys, made sure we were enjoying ourselves, and made our group feel very welcome. I tried Zed's On The West Coast and Zed's in NJ, Jersey Blond. Both were okay - they didn't stand out in flavor. I didn't love them, but I didn't hate them. They received a solid like. But, with that said, I would definitely head back. I find that most breweries only get better with time, so I'm excited to see how Zeds grows. Zed's is a BYOF - bring your own food. We ordered from Organico Pizza and walked a few doors down to pick it up. It was AMAZING. Takes pizza and beer to a whole new level, but that's a different review. read more

This is an amazing little brewery in NJ that my wife and I enjoyed grabbing a drink at. The brewery prides itself on making approachable and low ABV beers. Most beer nerds will scoff at the fact they don't have barrel aged stouts or milkshake hazy IPAs, but sometimes simple is better. We were welcomed with a friendly smile and hello from the staff. The staff here was willing to talk beer with us and the owner just discussing his homebrewing history was fascinating. The beers were delicious as well! No gimmicks, no wild ingredients, just good clean beer. Their IPAs are great and their porter is a light dry English style. Just love the beers and the very relax/homey ambiance of the venue. I have visited Zeds a few times and they have great beers! Love the West Coast IPA! Prices for a pint are a little high for a local brewery but that's what you get for drinking good beer. My negative review is that I feel like I'm drinking in a library! Too Quiet! No atmosphere, No music playing or sometimes you can barley hear it. When I asked a woman at the counter if they had any, she snidely said, "No...we're a brewery...".
